  1. Indeed. Numerous low, diagonal shots to his near post against County next season, please!
  2. If I was upset to see Fox go then this would quite rage-inducing. And it is kinda sad given the memories of the Championship winning team. As it is though, it's just very, very funny. Totally bizarre and borderline ludicrous move which can only be about wages (fair enough, but don't let the arse hit your door on the way out, Scott).
  3. Haha - does he, now? Well, there's nothing wrong with strong self-belief but I think Scott could also do with backing that up by, say, 500 hours spent practicing catching crosses, and another 500 hours stopping shots at his own near post, because currently he is quite poor at both of those things. He's done OK for us, but like others on here, I'm not bothered at all that he's away.
  4. Rangers may have the momentum but they have been shite for most/almost all of the season. The lucked out getting Vuckic in as part of the dodgy 5 player loan, that's for sure. Assuming they get past Hibs, I still think it's about 50/50 against Motherwell, and it's easy to imagine Scott McDonald scoring the winner to keep them down (now that he's won his red card appeal). Still plenty of football to be played before Ra Peepul fill up the JHS....
  5. It was the worst refereeing "performance" I have ever seen. Game-changing penalty award: not a penalty; not even in the box. Free kick leading to goal: not a free kick. Killie players assaulting each other: no action. That's without even considering that he looked about 3 stones overweight and was constantly 20 yards off the play. Scottish football has found a less competent ref than Wullie Collum; quite an achievement.
  6. Agree with you - nice to get the expected resignings tied up. I hope you are right about Taylor, Higgy and Conrad being as much as 50/50 but I fear that they are probably all odds-against right now. Hopefully I am wrong about that. Balatoni in particular I would love to see us sign up for 2-3 years as he really kicked on in the second half of this season and he and FF look excellent together.
  7. I did think the original reply to my comment was over the top, glad someone agrees. Taylor's an excellent player who gives his all and I hope we sign him up too, but I also think we may be able to find a good alternative if he doesn't.
  8. Would love to see Lawless agree a new 2-year deal. He's a talented, creative player and a big part of our footballing style. He's also easy to point out to the non-Jags I occasionally manage to bring to Firhill - he's the one with his shirt number tucked into his shorts!
  9. Great result, fantastic feeling to be safe with games to spare. Hope we hold on to 8th now!
  10. I know it's unlikely (has he actually signed at PCA or was it just a rumour?) but I would be absolutely delighted if we could somehow sign up SOD again. Osman, Lawless and Balatoni should also be priorities I'd be happy to see Taylor sign up but he's also missed a lot of chances of late. He works hard and looks strong but I'm not sure if he's essential to our plans.
  11. Have to say too, the coverage/commenrary from Moray Firth Radio is better than the dross on offer from Radio Scotland. Just not hearing Chick Young for an afternoon was very nice.
  12. Absolutely fantastic effort. Sounds like we played very, very well. Well done lads!
  13. Great result for us (despite what sounded like chances to get all three points); dreadful results elsewhere though. Grrr....
  14. I think Conrad's done enough this season to merit a new deal, especially in recent weeks alongside Frans. He (finally) looks more or less up to speed in the premier league, and I'd be sorry to see him go.
  15. Superb article, thanks for the link. I'll admit I've been one of those occasionally guilty of making light of Dan's absences from the team since he got here; I'll think twice before doing so again.
  16. What you say is all quite correct - but, of course, the stats are somewhat misleading because we have tended to go in for a few big wins (apart from Saturday) and LOTS of 1-goal defeats. That will inevitably add up to a weird GD/points ratio. It might be an unusual state of play but to be honest, I don't feel we are hard done by - because we've simply been unable to hold out for draws or avoid last minute losses on so many occasions. Being disappointed that the very pleasing thrashings we have occasionally handed out among many other disappointing results haven't got us well clear of the bottom is a vague equivalent of claiming Oleg Salenko wasn't given enough credit for being top scorer in World Cup 94 after scoring 5 goals in a single game (which was also a dead rubber). Stating the obvious here, but we need to win far more games by the odd goal.
  17. Yeah, I recall one guy called The Mug, or something like that. He's usualy very vocal and yet we haven't heard from him at all regarding these three recent wins. I hope he's OK.
  18. Agree with Armand2 - he's served us quite well, but us losing Fox would not keep me awake at night. He's poor at the near post, and Galls has definitely stepped in when Fox has had a few mares over the past couple of seasons. I doubt we'd be worse off with Scully and Galls rather than Fox and Galls at the club to choose from.
  19. Not bad at all given that he doesn't start every game, and often doesn't get much (or any) service when he does get the nod!
  20. I couldn't make it to the game but from reading through the posts here, it seems Bannigan was an absolute stand out, and ran the game. It would be great if he could kick on and do that for us a few more times between now and the end of the season. One of the many mysteries about this (mostly fairly shite) season following us, is how Bannigan (and Fraser, and Higgy) have all been so far off form. Maybe they've all been affecting each other - and maybe we might have turned a corner yesterday. Anyway, fantastic win, and I'm looking fw to an hour of highlights on Alba later!
  21. Strongly agree with all of that. Plus, our cushion should really be regarded as +1 more point just now given that our GD is over 20 goals better than those chasing us.
  22. Well, we won last week, so...
  23. What a dispiriting, pish result.
  24. Still only 1 in it..... COME ON THISTLE!
