  1. you should all just boycott the game! problem solved.
  2. correct decision IMO. while sitting in the main stand at the Firhill Cup, my first thoguht was 'this will go up in smoke when the Green Brigade turn up'. a bit of inconvenience for one game to ensure the main stand doesn't go up in flames. you all know what some of them are like - if they get wind that there's a fear our stand might get razed to the ground then guaranteed at least one of the will actually try it.
  3. because the Biased Broadcasting Corporation want to get BACK IN to the hallowed grounds of Ibrox, so they doing Jim's PR work for him.
  4. hello hello, how do you do? we hate the boys in royal blue we hate the boys in emerald green this song's been censored, now it's clean
  5. i think we should buy some overpriced foreigners. we are an SPL side now, we have to keep up with the big boys.
  6. fair enough, TONIGHT there was a reason to have 'proper crowd control'.
  7. i don't see anything wrong with the pitch invasion. silverware's been a long time coming, and we earned it. some folk just have to find something to complain about though, even on a momentous day like saturday. each to their own.
  8. yes, that's exactly what i want. 13 homes games maximum, so obviously no cup games whatsoever, and the playoffs i mentioned won't actually take place either. obviously.
  9. any TV deal that relies on four OF matches a season can get to f***. years of pandering to the ugly sisters is what's caused the stagnation of Scottish football, and any reconstruction has to address that issue directly and not just be a workaround to get things back how they were in 2010. what's needed is a league setup of three tiers of 14, playing each other twice a season, 2-up-2-down with playoffs, a pyramid system for Junior progression and a fair distribution of TV monies. if Sky pay less overall to the top tier for tv rights, but it's distributed evenly, it won't affect the income of most of the teams involved.
  10. does it not have to be held at an SFL ground? that counts Fir Park out.
  11. what i was considering today was the possibility of meeting Sevco in the final, and the choice of neutral venue that would require. The two geographically local options would realistically be Hampden or Parkhead, and as it's only the diddy cup, i wonder if they'd be less inclined to stage it at the national stadium, in case it diluted the brand of the Scottish Cup or the League Cup?
  12. keep under 16s out of the Shed. no reason under 16s can't sing and join in from the designated areas in the JHS. concentrate on making that scheme a success, instead of trying to convince the Police to overturn a decision they presumably took based on civil order legislation.
  13. is that not just after 9 PM though?
  14. i plan on moving over, but i doubt it'll be in place on saturday, as the club will want to make as many seats available to visiting (read: Celtic) fans as possible. quite rightly, i suppose.
  15. pretty decent fight - much better than either of their recent fights seperately. Haye was just too quick for Chisora. still have to wonder if it was pre-planned though. i don't mean they're rigged, but Haye is a master of building up hype, and i've long suspected an element of kayfabe in a few of his fights. i reckon the stuff that happened in Munich was loosely staged in order to establish a rivalry, and give Haye the excuse to come out of 'retirement'.
  16. i quite like an away day to Dunfermline, and not having to put up with The Worst Fans in the World™ coming to Firhill will be a bonus, so i hope Dundee do go up.
  17. when i was at Ibrox a number of years ago for the tour, they had name plates on a number of seats. i think a number of EPL clubs to it as well.
  18. I can toatally understand the pessimsm and paranoia from a lot of Thistle fans right now, and I don't want to have a go at any of them. I'm not going to critisise anyone for not renewing STs until all the questions are answered, that's entirely up to the individual, but personally I've had more than enough negativity over the past few weeks. It's depressed me, frankly, and i now want to move forward and concentrate on the 12/13 1st division season. For me, it's over, and regardless of how the Thistle board voted, the right outcome was reached. That aside, an regardless of which way they've voted, the BoD are not trusted by a large percentage of the fans and real changes need to be made at Thistle. They've caused unrest within the support for no gain. How they've voted is now of no consequence, but the way they treated the support definately is.
  19. Hope not. Newco has no business connection to RFC(ia), so if that were the case, we have no obligation to Green. Why should we do him a favour when Newco hasn't done anything ever?
  20. I actually used to support that team that used to play in blue when I was a wean, but stopped when I saw sense around the age of 16. I was sickened by the sectarianism, bogotry, stupidity and pointlessness of the Old Firm, and decided to switch to an honest club with no such problems. As I had family connections to Maryhill, for the last 12 years it's been Thistle. If the BoD vote to allow Newco into SFL1, then I won't be back to Firhill while they're running it. The "full details" the BoD are waiting for won't be around any time soon, as the SFL letter about the matter is full of conjecture, scaremongering and lies. The facts are, at the current time, that the fans are against any new-start club entering the league in the first division, and a paltry bribe from the SPL is not nearly enough to justify us in overlooking cheating. That's what it is: cheating. If the BoD vote yes, they're condoning cheating and that is when we lose the 'moral highground'.
