    New Owner

The guy behind the TFE group was previously behind a shambolic takeover at Stirling Albion, runs a group which claims to speak for all fans in Scotland and has had no apparent connection with Thistle until this opportunity came about. To me that suggests TFE is more to do with the ego of a wannabe than anything. At least if a consortium of billionaires wants to buy a 'fixer-upper' and sell it at a profit later, the club will then be improved in some ways. Letting people with either poor or no records of running a club take over will most likely see us becoming part time at best.
  3. I'll try again. I don't think Jacqui Low is the right person to be leading the club. She doesn't seem to know how to run a football club, or understand that it's not like running any other business. In addition, she appears to moving in certain political circles and trying to attract a certain type of person to the club under the auspices of a 'business club' when she should be concentrating on getting results on the pitch. If we don't start improving soon and getting results we'll be back in the 2nd division, struggling for cash, and if one follows a particularly pessimistic projection we could even be looking at another Save The Jags campaign. The best way to attract sponsorship money (other than chance encounters with eccentric millionaire art collectors) is by being a success on the pitch.
  4. 'Assume' being the operative, as I made no comment on him directly. Thank you! At least somebody managed to look past the swearing and mentions of political parties and actually read the ******* post. PS, it's not actually politically motived, it's motivated by the fact I believe her to be ******* useless. So it's OK for people to abuse me directly? folk attack me and call me an idiot, and say my opinion doesn't matter? Good to know, thanks.
  5. its stated aims are to allow business people to network though, it says nothing about attracting sponsorship. that's what the club's business manager is supposed to do.
  6. She's appointed a manager who's got one point from a possible 18. But thanks for informing me about how we rely on sponsorship to exist. I was under the impression that prize money and tickets paid for running clubs, and success on the pitch was likely to increase sponsorship income. I now know that having a failed tory candidate speaking to entrepreneurs is how we become the next Chelsea.
  7. I still say Jacqui Low is to blame for the whole debacle, because of the way she's trying to run the club. A failed Tory candidate and a business-person who's probably never done a day's work in her life and who's introduced this 'business club' thing to Firhill. **** any business except for Partick Thistle FC! The only thing she should be worrying about is making the club/company a success, and pandering to a crowd of tory business-types who want to 'network'. How about improving the matchday experience for the average fan? Ideally by ******* off and letting somebody who knows what they're doing run the club and appoint a manager who can actually win a game. No apologies to any tory business types offended by that statement. You're part of the problem.
  8. There's no real need for that. The north stand has an amphitheatre-type effect which amplifies the noise from even a small crowd. The year we won the 1st division the players all commented on how the noise really benefited them and how it was like a twelfth man. Since then the northy's been noticeably quiet most games. **** knows we could do with a twelfth man most games. But then, with our squad as it is at the moment, it might be more like a ninth man. But it should be noted that I was being facetious in my first post. The real problem is having a Tory chairman.
  9. The North Stand for not singing enough.
  10. Don't see why i should be dropped, tbh.
  11. I'm going to boycott the away game at Celtic Park in support of the Green Brigade. WHO'S WITH ME?!
  12. we're mid table, and i'm more than happy with that.
  13. not specific enough. how is something hypothetically happening twice, five months apart 'continuously'?
  14. how is being moved once 'continuous'? be very specific with your answer.
  15. QFT eh? i have sat in the north stand occasionally, but mainly i sit with my pals in the JH who don't want to move over.
  16. a smoke bomb isn't likely to start any fires, as they don't produce a flame, whereas a flare does, and depending on type can burn at over a thousand degrees. that's a fire hazard.
  17. is that what i said? must have been, aye. again, that must be what i said, so aye. yes well it's not moot point, as explained above. paranoia? seeing secret celtic fans everywhere? go back to Rangers Media! well, i go to watch them, clap, shout things, etc. nothing out of the ordinary. why do you ask? name names. correct. i am not an ex-rangers fan who sits in the north stand.
  18. by the amount of whinging going on, and 'protest' banners, i was beginning to think some of the support WERE actually OF fans. if some 'North Stand fans' are to be believed then they're the ones who should get all the credit for Thistle being in the top flight again, so how about they stfu about having to move for one game and just concentrate on getting behind the team?
  19. i think some people should try and keep it in mind that we're not really Barcelona, we're Partick Thistle, and we aren't going to win every game. perhaps the success last season just went to people's heads a little too much, but a reality check is long overdue. we've been playing good football for the past few years, and have developed a squad that play well together, and a system they're all used to. drastic changes to that now will only have adverse effects.
  20. aye, that Full Moon's fairly brought out the best in some people round here.
  21. the Celtic supporters will all start leaving circa 80mins anyway, distraught that we're beating them 2-0
  22. the simple solution to this problem is just to come out in support of the Poppy Appeal or something, and then the green brigade will 'bhoycott' Firhill and we won't have to deal with them at all.
