  1. Maybe they should just decide at the start of the season who gets relegated and who wins the league and who gets into europe based on some sort of coefficiant worked out around ticket sales and tv deals and who journalists and big wigs like the most, then the scores wouldn't matter and everybody would know their place.
  2. Yes it will and since he hasn't got us relegated and we aren't currently languishing in the relegation or play-off spots then you still have no statistics to back it up.
  3. We got pumped but pretty much every team in the league takes a pumping off of Celtic (and previously Rangers) now and again because they have a huge financial advantage. It was inevitable it would happen to us at some point. Until we went down to ten men we were doing reasonably well and we can take some heart from this. After they scored the second we were always going to struggle and I don't have too many complaints. Maybe we could have kept the score down but why bust a gut losing 3 or 4-0 instead of 6 when goal difference doesn't count for anything in the cup and we have a league game on Saturday. I'm glad Higgy and Doolan got a run out rather than shoring up the defence as they're much more likely to make a difference on Saturday. Take something from the game at Hamilton and we can forget all about this.
  4. I agree with the doing more to attract students post and have thought this for some time. Students for a fiver (or similar token amount) if well publicised could be a great follow on to kids go free. We’ll get the usual ‘if they can afford to get pished in the union on a Friday night then they can afford to pay full price for a ticket’ crap but the fact is that if it’s a choice between spending £15 going to the union and trying to get your end away then sicking up everywhere or spending £15 going to Firhill to watch Thistle draw 0-0 with St Johnstone then the union is always going to win. In fact next time we play St Johnstone at home I might try and get someone to sign me into the union instead.
  5. Where is this common sense fantasy world you live in?
  6. He got us promoted, he kept us in the league last year, we're currently sitting 4 pts clear of the relegation places after 7 games played. I share plenty of the frustrations mentioned but on these facts I would say it's unfair to sack the management team at present.
  7. I thought we deserved the win but we didn't perform as well as we were capable of. The defence looked shaky / disorganised in the first half but was much better after the break. The midfield didn't look as composed as normal but battled well and attacked with pace and numbers. We looked dangerous everytime we went forward. Lawless was MotM for me. Lost the ball a few times in the first 20 minutes but after that looked lively and provided good battling defensive cover. Stevenson looks a bit off the pace but was by no means awful. Doolan had an off day. Craigen linked up well when he came on.
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong, but surely they can't 'guarentee' us more powers if they would have to be voted through parliament and the house of lords? Is it not the case that all they can guarentee is that they will try?
  9. People still on their summer holidays? Tartan army fans skint from going to Germany? Last few minutes of the Hamilton game putting people off for life?
  10. I'll take a 6-3 win against Hamilton at home.
  11. Is it hipster to say Christie Elliot is our best player all of a sudden? Cos if it is I'm going to start saying it. What's the justification, something about his opta stats, that always sounds clever? Is there a Dortmund player we could compare him with?
  12. 1. Focus and the Banana Splits 2. The old urinal (a wall) 3. Missing the evening times and not getting the other results til the Sunday papers were delivered the next morning. Potty trained, I sometimes go to Newlandsfield when the Jags are away from home, I was there the other week when Celtic sh*t out of playing us. The kids are still allowed on to the pitch at half time for a kickabout.
  13. If Doolan had kept his big belly he might have started against Ross County but I reckon Archie went with Stevenson to give us a bit more of a physical presence up front against all those big fermers. Then I can see why we'd stick with the same line up after a 4-0 win. I wouldn't be surprised if Doolan gets the nod against less physical teams similar to the way he and Taylor were switched about at the end of last season.
  14. Nana nana na na na Nana nana nana Gettin Higgy with it
  15. Legally unless there’s specific need to check someone’s criminal record for a job, it’s against the law for employers to refuse to employ them because of spent convictions. In football however it would be easy to invent a justification for not signing a player. I wouldn't be keen, among other things the association with such a high profile negative case could put off sponsors.
  16. It's worth noting that the first two players subbed on Wednesday night were both on yellow cards. I doubt this was a coincidence.
  17. I voted for 9th yesterday but would like to change my vote after last night. Before I do can you add an option for winning the treble please?
  18. I’m not going to let last night get me carried away but 3 points off the top of the league, superior goal difference when we win our game in hand, the league’s won!!
  19. The Millwall chant is not sectarian. The 'Jimmy Saville, he's one of your own' chant when aimed at Celtic fans can be interpeted in two ways. One, that you are referring to 'one of your own' as a reference to the Celtic Boys Club scandal is not sectarian. The other, that you are referring to 'one of your own' as the catholic church, is sectarian. In all cases they're pretty distatsteful and thoughtless when you consider the large numbers of people directly affected by sexual abuse.
  20. Ronny Delia? They'd have been better of with Ronnie Corbett!!! In truth it's not really fair to judge him on one match away from home and down to ten men in the Champions League. Neil Lennon got pumped out the CL by Braga at the same stage in his first season in charge. Delia's trying to install a new system which will take time for the players to get used to and the Celtic board have routinely been selling off all the best players for a few years now. Since last summer they have lost Ledley, Wanyama, Hooper and Samaras and brought in a load of cut price replacements. A dip in quality is inevitable really.
  21. Yeah, not like the 70 pages of deadly accurate leads posted on this thread so far.
  22. True, Samson was admiring the tekkers so much that he forgot he was supposed to save it until it was too late. Higgy's half overhead, half scissor kick for Motherwell was pretty special too.
  23. If we sign this chap then along with Higginbotham in the team it's safe to assume that a significant majority of our goals next season will be overhead kicks. This is something I am in favour of.
