  1. Fox never once looked at the Dundee player. He starts walking towards the referee to speak to him and if you watch again, it's the Dundee player who instigates any coming together. Fox, while still looking at the referee, pushes him away. A horrendous decision.
  2. Certainly suggests Archie sees him as a first team regular. He doesn't strike me as a "leader type" or seem particularly vocal on the park. Of the players on the bench, only dools would have captained the side ahead of him so obviously Archie sees something in him. Probably also means if/when dools does start it would be in place of lawless, with Stevenson going to play out wide.
  3. Was Stevenson our captain on Wednesday night?
  4. I get what you're saying and he's obviously the best LB at the club at the moment. In my opinion though, he's by far our best CM aswell. He dominated games almost single handedly last season and I don't think we can afford to lose that this season. I doubt wether a midfield trio of osman, welsh and Fraser would be able to drive us forward in the same way stuart does when we need it. Hopefully it won't come to that and we'll sign a quality LB before the end of the window. By the way, when/if welsh does return. How strong will our CMs be? Banzo, osman, welsh and Fraser fighting for 3 places. Exciting.
  5. Have you ever seen this guy play? I'm not saying he should be our first choice left back, just that having a bit of cover in an area of the park where we currently have no recognised first team players, and will probably be relying on an U20 as things stand, can be no bad thing. I agree that we do still need a left back.
  6. Looks to be just what we need. Left sided centre back who can also play at LB. Seems to have played at a decent level aswell. Found this, which is a bit of a worry, hopefully he's matured quite a bit since. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/southampton-footballer-dan-seaborne-left-151257
  7. Unveiled tommorow according to twitter.
  8. I noticed on the club website it says the strip is available in infant sizes. I had a look on TTL website and can't see anything about an infant size. The lowest it goes is age 4. Anyone know if the shop at port dundas has them?
  9. For some reason I have a strong feeling that Taylor will be playing with us next season, and I hope I'm right. Feels good to even have a chance of signing players that you actually want at the club, rather than just getting whoevers left without a club.
  10. I don't think anyone is doubting Sean welsh is a class act, and I think we all agree that a fully fit Sean welsh and club captain would be a huge asset to the team. However, I think we also all agree that we are not in a position to offer someone a wage for a full season who will play a handfull of games if we're lucky. If he can prove otherwise then yes, he's a must have. If not then, unfortunately, we simply can't afford to keep him. I know I would absolutely love to see Sean back playing week in week out. I don't know if it will happen though.
  11. Finding a quality left back is going to be a big headache for Archie. I'd imagine he may have to look down south in the lower leagues as there seems to be nothing available up here.
  12. I think I'd sign mcpake. Before hibs got truly awful he always seemed to be one of their better players. He's a bit more mobile than any of the centre halfs we've got aswell, which is why we've struggled at times this season. Any other centre backs that will be available with SPL experience are probably going to be similar to mair, and while he did a decent job, I think we need to avoid that type of player this year.
  13. Fast on the way to becoming my favourite thistle player in my lifetime! At only 20 odd years old that's not exactly a bold claim, but I couldn't really think of a more deserving player of a big testimonial, exactly what the jags are all about! Hard working, professional, capable of the odd bit of genius and just an all round excellent guy! I love him!
  14. Having Ozzy in there would allow bannigan and Fraser much more freedom to go and join in the attacks, which banzo especially, used to do to great effect. not so much this season as he's taken on more defensive responsibilities due to Ozzy and welsh' injuries. These 3 in the middle of the park with 2 good wingers (higgy obviously being one) would be an excellent midfield.
  15. At the time we probably couldn't. Another year guaranteed in the SPFPFLPLP and the board must feel like the funds are there to offer guys like this longer contracts. Besides, I think frasers potential "sell-on" value is far greater than Paton or Erskinho so having him on a longer contract could see us command a decent fee for him if he was to leave.
  16. This thread got me thinking, is there any other player in Scotland that plays Stuarts position and at his age that you'd rather have in your side? I don't think there is. You could possibly say the same about Fraser in a year or 2 also. Hopefully they go on to have a long, successful career with us.
  17. The NS is going to be absolutely bouncing (more so than usual) at the first home game next season!! Can't wait.
  18. Not commented on this matter yet as I was absolutely sure the club would release a statement highlighting their logic behind the decision, which would actually include some facts and somehow convince us all that they really did have no other option, as they put it, and that, although with great sadness, we could all accept the decision was the right move for the club and get on with next season. Instead we are given this piece of absolute nonsense, which in truth tells us absolutely nothing. The "excuses"/reasons given in the statement are, quite frankly embarrassing, and if these are the true reasons behind the move then I think we all need to seriously consider if we want these people making any more decisions for the club we all love. My ST is in the JHS although I do visit the NS on occasion and I think we can all agree that, since the NS singing section has opened, the atmosphere before, during and after a game, and even just the general enjoyment of being a thistle fan has gone through the roof. I've never really taken a great deal of interest in off field matters, untill now, but for the board to treat the fans, the ones who have been here through thick and thin, seen dozens of players, managers and boardrooms come and go, the single most important part of this football club, in the way they have is shameful. I can only imagine what guys like PT and Ian must be feeling after seeing all the hard work they've put in go up in flames and hope, for the sake of the club, someone with a half a brain will see sense and admit how much of a massive balls up this has been. No ST for me, unless they see sense. Even then, the fact that they wouldn't think twice about shafting us, would probably put me off anyway.
  19. I think we'll finish 10th. I think we'll beat St Mirren at home and hibs away. A point v Ross Co and hearts. I don't see us getting anything v Killie for some reason. Hopefully 8 pts from the 5 games would be enough to see us into 10th.
  20. Gallchers save from the hearts header in the first half on Saturday was world class. I definitely think we've looked better at defending crosses since gallachers came in aswell, although the stats might not support that. I just think he gives the centre halfs a little more confidence than the fox did. The only thing I would say about gallacher is his distribution. He almost always takes ages once he's taken a cross, giving the opposition time to re-group. Whenever fox took a cross, the full backs would be off and running straight away and more often than not they would get a decent throw and could start a counter attack. That was a pretty major factor in the way we played last season that has been, IMO, sorely missing recently.
  21. But you would agree that playing with this formation we have accumulated more points per game than when we haven't?
  22. You said that team selection has only picked up 3 points from the 9 they've played for? I'm showing you that that points to game ratio is better than what we currently have. What is your point regarding the 3 pts from 9?
  23. If we picked up 3 pts from every 9 available we'd have more pts than we currently have.
