  1. Playing the 'white man' is just what they are doing.
  2. The video player they have on the page is smart enough to suss out if your using an iPhone, tablet or desktop browser, with or without Flash, and present an appropriate version. It should be easier to download and playback the non Flash version. The link to the mp4 version in the page code is http://ptfc.co.uk/flv/highlights/20130420_falkirk.mp4 you should be able to open that and then save to your hard disc. (BTW it is a fairly hefty 220mb download)
  3. and I suppose Celtic (or Hibs) would rather win the Cup this season, as it's not tainted at all after being blessed by Sevco's participation in earlier rounds.
  4. If today's Celtic one is anything to go by, ian_mac and Gary Peebles Tackle will already be being harassed by Newsquest Ads sales team.
  5. Glasgow's own 'evening' newspaper disappears between the two cheeks of the same arse (once again). If you haven't bought today's 'Evening' Times for the souvenir coverage of a Glasgow team's championship season don't. Between the 8 page Celtic Title Tribute pull-out, nearly 2 pages on Celtic in the news section, 3 pages on Celtic in the sports pages there's under two pages of re hashed reporting you'll already have seen from the week-end on the Jags. That is, the same amount of coverage today that they give to Sevco's boardroom troubles. (not to mention the 8 page Sevco pull-out the Monday after a Queen's Park defeat handed them the Third Division). No surprise there, but when you think about it most Celtic and Sevco fans come from places so far from Glasgow that they can't even buy the Evening Times. The Jags supporting proportion of actual Glasgow based football fans that could buy their dying paper must be fairly high.
  6. Maybe they should tap up MacB to switch, they've tried to get everything else from Thistle. Any other appropriate suggestions for DUFC sponsorships for season 2013/14?
  7. I never made anything up. What I said was not 'completely untrue'. In an effort not to escalate things (in this a public forum) and to support a Thistle bar I'll PM both you and GPT.
  8. GPT it is important that I do this publicly and set the record straight. Here's what I should have said, this after all, is a Thistle forum and not Trip Adviser: We are on the brink of a great victory. Worthy of a great celebration. There are too few Thistle pubs around. All Thistle fans should support those few there are. The Brass Monkey is one of them (my local one). Finnieston/Anderston/Sandyford Jags should be there after Saturday's game. I was wrong to say there was price hike for the Cowdenbeath game. I should have said, until the Cowdenbeath game I dropped in regularly (roughly once or twice a week after work). They had a good offering and good service. I have no evidence that prices were hiked at the Cowdenbeath game as I haven't been back in since. I was charged more that Sunday afternoon, each time I bought a drink, for the same drinks, than on the Thursday and Friday evenings of the week before. Thinking back this was, however, by the same member of staff (whom after the first overcharge I did try to avoid but fortunately it was so busy with Jags fans it was hard to get to the bar let alone get served). I'm glad to hear now that this was not policy. The Brass Monkey is a Thistle pub.
  9. Sat 11th August. First league game... queued up for a ticket at portacabins, queued again at turnstiles, missed the kick-off (and had missed all the Ce'lic and Everton matches BTW). just as I got in a team playing in dark strips (was it dark blue?) scored against a team in yellow jerseys... my heart sank... just as the JHS (and new North Stand) went wild! plus, by the time I sat down and it was 2-0.
  10. Just around the corner from the Brass Monkey (and so glad it's no the Two Ways anymore but...) You never know what they are going to charge you!! - hiked the prices for the v Cowdenbeath semi on BBC Alba. Thistle minded pub, but watch out.
  11. Given: Erskine and Paton have been well worked over from the back by Mcnamara Erskine and Paton have been well naive to allow that photograph and (worst of all) Erskine (in particular) and Paton have been very badly abused since (by Jags 'fans')via social media but Erskine and Paton are still quad members and We are not champions yet We still need one point should Archie and can Archie still play them on Saturday? (okay play Erskine)
  12. except they are not 'ex' thistle just yet
  13. you'll not get anything from that using a mobile browser or app (from here let alone abroad) + most mobile radio apps use streams that BBC stop when the live match starts anyway
  14. Between his last (known) attendance and the Ramsden's final was the not small matter of the club pursuing him legally for the money he owes.
  15. ...except maybe fog
  16. Mine is. I was only backing up your OP (while revealing my source).
  17. Sources, overheard: McNamara's Uncle Jim (former Paisley publican and east-end man about town) saying the nephew had lined up four - 'Erskine, Paton, O'Donnell and...' ..sorry, I couldn't (over)hear the last name. Though with O'Donnell still on contract and United hardly rolling in cash I'm not sure how reliable Uncle Jim will turn out to be.
  18. I like this season's Girona FC away kit. Classy with black on shoulders and on the socks.
  19. It wasn't even a St George's Flag - it was the Royal Navy Ensign - as all you avid seamen will know is a big George's Cross with the Union Flag in the top corner.
  20. The sound track for your party on Spotify via link from is thatcher dead yet site. Stamp the dirt down...
  21. Not the same kind of karma. Hamilton weren't there that day in 92, the last game of the season, but a normal league match - results, goals and refereeing add up over a season. ...and we have paid that back over the years (esp. at NDP, until this month). A play-off is always going to be different.
