  1. Surely the moderators of this forum are duty-bound to explain why a such a heated and controversial thread was deleted. If nothing is forthcoming then what is the point of the Forum?
  2. There is plenty to be obsessed about! Should their outrageous behaviour not be challenged and that they are allowed to ride roughshod over Scottish football? Aided and abetted by their friends in the media of course!
  3. Voucher for Saturday's game has been delivered by Royal Mail this morning. Will now just have to wait patiently for Dundee Utd voucher to arrive for next Friday!
  4. Be careful or the Yes/No (one word post) policeman will be after you! See post no. 44!
  5. Sorry, I was in such a hurry to vote NO that I didn't read the title of the thread properly! You are clearly a very observant chap!
  6. Very sad news indeed. One of my favourite Jags players ever. What a player and a true Jags legend! You will never be forgotten Neil!
  7. A brilliant article. Brings back some great memories.
  8. George Niven, Neil Duffy and Billy Hainey for me.
  9. How I hated that insipid yellow top with black shorts. It still gives me nightmares thinking of Benny Rooney and Mike Jackson's bunch of no-users such as McKenzie, Hutchison, McLaren, Tommy O'Hara, Cochrane, et al. One of the worst Thistle teams in living memory. I love Mortons Rolls though.
  10. The best thing Thistle can do is to secure the entire team on fairly lengthy contracts. This may offer a bit of stability to the likes of Ross Forbes etc. Whilst I am not so sure that this squad is as good as the 71 team it has the potential to be as good as the team of around 1975 which contained the likes of Doug Somner, Joe Craig, Jim Melrose etc. The first of the 71 team to be transferred was Jimmy Bone to Norwich City and after that Frank Coulston was never the same player again. Then I think it was Alex Forsyth to Man Utd, by then the team had lost its effectiveness so if we can avoid losing any of the first team squad for a good couple of years then Thistle could have a very bright future indeed.
  11. How do you work that one out. I know where I will be tomorrow, can you say the same.
  12. What a load pish, what has clubs with H*n tendencies got to do with it. Perhaps you should be on the Green Brigade forum instead with those views. How do you think that fans from other clubs perceived Thistle in the days of "Save the Jags". Did they think that we were h*ns because of our past associations with Rangers in the 1950s and 1960s as well as accommodating the Orange Order with various parades at Firhill in the 1980s. Or perhaps they perceived us as Tims after we started cosying up to Celtic or did they just see us as a club who had got into financial difficulties that perhaps required a bit of help!
  13. The amount is irrelevant, of course we eventually paid it back, however we still spent money we did not have and it could have sent us under but for Forfar's generosity.
  14. It could quite easily have been us if Forffar Athletic had demanded payment for Alan Morgan when it was due! We bought him when we couldn't afford it if my memory serves me correctly! I for one don't want to see the demise of Hearts or any football club for that matter!
  15. I'm afraid that wasn't uppermost in my mind when I made the post, in other words I couldn't give a fcuk!
  16. Yes, Barca did leave it a bit late, however, all's well that ends well!
  17. Do we not already accommodate the Jungle Jims at Firhill? I suppose there is a limit on how many times the ground can be used!
  18. What about the guy with the broken leg, does he not deserve an apology?
  19. The Scotland selectors (who picked the National team in those days) were at Firhill watching Ian Ure (Dundee centre-half) and the great Billy Hainey ran him ragged, Hainey also scored that day. As you say, George Niven's debut for the Jags, God! I loved George Niven. Happy Days!
  20. How much will it cost us to disinfect the place afterwards?
  21. I know that we accommodated the Orange Order in the early 1980's by allowing them the use of Firhill for services etc. What other forms of bigotry are you referring to?
  22. What makes you think that? Have you never heard them sing "Soon there will be no Protestants at all" etc, etc.
  23. Today's Daily Record tells you how our club voted. They were one the five to vote for Rangers to be parachuted into SFL1.
