  1. gonny sort out the aspect ratio? shot on widescreen, played in 4:3. Very annoying!
  2. cool thread. What a refreshing change from the mongo "Sack the Board" and "Paton is a fud" threads that threaten to grind us down to internet and football oblivion!
  3. I could never agree with anything written by anyone at that time in the morning. Robert Bruce, June 23rd, 1314 (7:23AM): "and tonight, fellow sons of Scotia, you can rest easy knowing that we have repelled Longshanks and set Scotland free, for it is not for ritches or honour that we fight, but for freedom alone..." me (7:24) erm, whatever. Fk off and give us another hour in my kip, eh?
  4. Sorry 'bout the excessive use of multiquote, but, yeh: what they said. Liam could be a good 1st division player, maybe even a lot more. But it really is finger out of erse time. His finishing was disappointing, but sh!t happens: much more worrying is his attitude. Not good enough, fella.
  5. I smell shite? Go on, prove me wrong. Saw Lambie's teams win at least twice with 9 men; and once with only 8: but on no occassion that I remember did they come back from behind to win. Moan about getting humped, moan about being bottom of the league, moan about whatever else you want. But don't re-write history... EDIT: sorry, hadn't seen the above post when adding this!
  6. A very very pretty 1 nil jags defeat
  7. spot on. I'd like Killie - home OR away - but I'd settle for Uberteeb getting his wishes
  8. good that they've got something together. Decent job, but some of the footage is terrible: couple of the games look like they've been shot on a mobile phone. Also, why tell us all the scores at the start? First round of the Challenge Cup is not exactly mouthwatering at the best of times - why take out any remaining tension or excitement by telling us all the results before showing the footage? p.s. nae luck fatzo at Dumbarton...
  9. I'm kinda ambivalent about Sid. I remember seeing his first game for us, in a friendly down at the old Love Street 4 years ago, and thinking "Oh my God! He's amazing!"... and then waiting 3 years for him to look as good again. For the first few months of last season he was really classy, but there has been a lot of rubbish too. I suppose you can be a classy footballer, but still be inefffective in a football match. I put Hodge in that bracket, too. Personally, I prefer the guts and commitment kind of midfielder, but there is certainly a place for the "nicey boys" too. Only 1 such place, though: I hate when Hodge AND Sid are on at the same time. Tippity-tappity pish...
  10. fixed that for you. Who gives a hoot if the draw is a few days late each month? Are you really in it to make cash?
  11. SOme good posts above, along the lines of: Surely it's a case of "sh!t or get of the pot"? If, like me, you are just a passive member with neither the time nor inclination to do little more than pay your annual sub, fine; however, if you want the trust to do more or to move in a different direction, then get involved - rather than just coming on the forum and having a whine!
  12. well done all at Stirling. They looked just about done a few months ago - swallowed up by debt off the field and pishing away promotion on it - but what a turnaround. ANd yippee we get to go back to the bino bar for free black pudding and other weird snacks
  13. So "H_ns" is out? Jeezoh. We'll just need to be a bit more creative. What about: [sigh, on reflection, all edited out. Shame, there were some belters in that list, too...] They okay?
  14. Good post, Tom. Some interesting food for thought. I'm not sure that the "luvvy" element really exists much more in Thistle than it does elsewhere. On the other hand, maybe it is exactly this marginal demographic advantage that has stopped us sliding further than we otherwise might have done?
  15. I really like the vuvuzelas. I'm with our old pal Sepp Blatter: "Vuvuzelas, drums and singing are part of African football culture. It is part of their celebration, it is part of their culture, so let them blow the vuvuzelas." It's Africa's World Cup; go for it ya crazy crowd of mentalists. It's really annoying all those tosser commentators, which is good, and just about drowned out the Engerland fans, which is splendid. 16. Hnasen is a scar-faced Quisling. I'm really lookimng forward to the WC, but my excitement is somewhat tempered when I remember the numpties that the BBC will wheel out and inflict on us all.
  17. Anyone collecting the Paninni world cup stickers? Got any Ghanians yet? Have a look and you'll see who I mean.
  18. Can't fault him: always liked a keeper with a bit of spunk. Heard him ejaculate on the radio the other day; great stuff. Often England were exposed, but it was jis'm standing between them and defeat: it was like custard's last stand. Only time that he stained his record was when that German midfielder Kuntz was beavering away down the wing coming straight at him. Yeh, allright, just TOO easy - but a guy: * called "Seaman"; * with a quite awful 80' 'tash; * who was an Engerland keeper? ...sorry, can't let that one pass. If Ray Clemence was called "Ray Belendah" or something equally rude-jokable he'd get it too. Hmm, Chris Woods; there are possibilities there....
  19. I know that a lot of people are not looking forward to the new season: but don't you think that's taking it just a wee bit far?
  20. bump: they are off to the "Cats' Protection League" if there are no takers by the end of Wed!
  21. ...maybe about 100 of them. Mostly home, some away; all Thistle (although mibbe the odd Tranmere and Scotland). Can't bear to look at them or I'll end up keeping them, so I can't be too specific: but they will be from some time between 1982 and 2005 First come, first served: we're moving house in a couple of weeks and am decluttering crazy: all yours if you can collect from Thornwood. I'd like to think they will go to someone who would actually want them, but fk it: bung 'em up on e-bay if you want! PM me and I'll get back to you to confirm
  22. good shouts, one and all: but today I think Johnny T gets it. Over the season, though, it has got to be rowser?
