We were outmanoeuvred, our ‘crime’ was trusting the Club Board to deliver on its promises of shares. It didn’t. That still irks me to this day. But what happened, happened. It’s probably why I didn’t trust the latest incarnation of the Club Board, especially the way they have acted towards TJF - a professional, democratically elected fan representative body. One of two of us ‘older’ fans are sick of the politics at Firhill. It ruins what would otherwise be a happy experience supporting the Jags. I’m angry at recent events to the point that I’m giving this season a miss. I may only be back at all if there is meaningful change in the way the Club is run. In the meantime, I’ll take in a few games in the Highland League and at some nice grounds in Division 2. I am sad it has come to this, but I want to enjoy watching football again,

It basically means they’ll listen to the Famous Five but not TJF. This is really pretty poor, what has the Club become?

We might need to raise the Club from the dead if this mob carry on making decisions like they have been doing (disconnected from the fans).

I’m still done for the season. Not a penny more after the utter fiasco this week (and leading up to it). Our Club is a laughing stock.

In terms of influence, yes

Without any authority or influence, I could be controversial and say the shares are effectively meaningless. All the Club Board have to do is dilute the holding with more shares.

They must have been easily dissuaded from actually have fan reps on the Club Board. I mean, nobody else have actually tried that and make it work, have they What exact responsibilities do they have to the fans? What about the ones that don’t hold STs? And who the Board to account? Lots of questions, but hey let’s not worry - they have no experience of running a football club

They have not just created division, they have ceded that no fans need to be part of the Club Board to represent the fans voice. That is a massive thing to concede on.

Personally, ‘not a penny more’ this season is all I can do. Money talks so if enough of us withdraw further financial support, it might force 3BC to have a rethink. I cannot with a conscience spend more on the Jags while our fans do not have a voice. Short term pain for longer term gain. My subs to TJF continue, that’s a route open to others so the money can be used for the Club when the outlook has improved.

Sandie Shaw predicted this outcome back in 1967, dedicating her Eurovision entry to future incarnations of the PTFC Trust. Allegedly.

So to summarise, 5 random fans will be gifted the majority shares. They have no track record of communicating or engaging with the fans. They have no fan representation on the Club Board. The Club Directors have no shares but appear to be accountable to no-one, so they continue happily trundling along doing what they want. Where is the supporters voice & influence in all of this. Nowhere.

It does seem strange that we have 5 guys on the PTFC Trust purporting to represent the Season Ticket holders, yet no-one knows anything about them. Are they themselves ST holders? Do they belong to any of the supporters buses? Do they sponsor players etc? I genuinely don’t know the answers to these questions.

There is a rumour that TJF will not be allowed to have a presence within Firhill on Friday. If this rumour is substantiated, we are indeed seeing a regime akin to North Korea.
