  1. I can't help worrying that this is a sign that Rowsers career is over...at least at this level
  2. I'll be there with some fellow Jags and an airdrie fan. In the North Stand for the first time, usually in the West Stand, cannae wait
  3. Aye he's awrite mate. Gona have a sore tongue for a week or so but otherwise fine. Was a bit worried you were gona back into him tho, that coulda caused some serious head trauma
  4. No chance was there 300 of them. If there was then there was far more than 10 times that number of Thistle fans in the JHS. therefore far in excess of 3000 all in.
  5. My two know 'we're comin down the road', they sing the line 'red and yellow, not your green or blue...Partick Thistle football club for me will do' and 'we're a well known Glasgow football team'. All learned from a cd. Your theory works well for adults but we're talking about trying to get kids involved here. How else do you envisage teaching the younger generation of jags fans the traditional jags songs when they will hardly hear them at games as they ain't allowed in the stand where the songs are sung? I like the cd idea a really lot.
  6. Why? My 2 sing the TIM version and I let them because it is not offensive to the group of people folk think it might be offensive to.
  7. Yeah something like that... Keep Jaggy MacB out during the game, maybe get some wee bees out there with him (a potential money maker if kids are given the chance to pay for the privledge of dressing as a wee macbee) to encourage the kids to make some noise. Could also get volunteers to help. Thinking along the 'American' line a wee bit.
  8. Been thinking the same thing myself re the family section. I reckon it would work better at the city end for several reasons. The ladies toilets issue I mentioned last week, seems silly that the one nearest the family section can't be used due to away fans. Feel the kids can get more into it in a kids way rather than taking the lead from the shed, which can be a bit 'not for kids'. There is more chance of the JHS getting banter going with away fans, and joining in with the shed, if that section was predominantly adults. The kids can move up the JHS the older they get. Jaggy MacB could get involved at that end and encourage the kids to sing etc (could maybe provide other entertainment/encouragement too) without impacting on the view of the game for other sections of the JHS. Just thinking out loud.
  9. Purple and blue I hope to see us in red n yella again soon and I don't go in for all the 'lucky top' superstitious nonsense.
  10. I'm loving watching this team, I'd say we were not at our most fluid today but still won comfortably...magic. Paton was awesome again, was a master stroke to move him into midfield. The referee was shocking IMO, some of the tackles the Hamilton players were getting away with were terrible...particularly from numbers 6 and 10. Anyway, top of the league goin into the break
  11. We had an incident in the north stand just before half time, a mate had an epileptic seizure. The stewards and medics were great but I'd urge the first steward on the scene not to make his first question "has he been drinking?". Try, "what's happened?" or something eh. Whether he had been drinking or not did not matter at this point, getting medical attention did. He's ok now, but I got a bit ratty with the steward...hope he learned from the experience.
  12. 3 down already. Wife and kids 'can't be bothered' today
  13. Would rather keep Doolan and run the risk of him signing a pre contract elsewhere. His goals could make the difference between winning the league or not. SPL football would bring in a helluva lot more than the paltry fee we'd get if we sold him now.
  14. Then I shall take your opinion with a pinch of salt
  15. You are mentioned, just didn't wana name names incase you were a sensitive soul and took the inevitable 'shite' comments badly To be fair, the one I posted is not meant to be a song to be sung at matches. Twinny have you tried listening to the actual song but changing the words to those posted here?
  16. Tell you what, describe the abuse you're talking about, then the guilty parties might know what to take on board.
  17. I agree the Dumbarton one wasn't a sitter, and it was a good block by the defender...just felt placing it was the wrong option.
  18. I can understand the Chris erskine love-in as I love watching him, he is everything good mentioned on this thread. I can't understand why some people can't see how frustrating he can be. Case in point, I must have said 'FFS Erskine wrong choice again' on Saturday at least 3 times. I gave a big 'AAAARRRRRGGGGHHH' against Dunfermline and Dumbarton coz on both occasions he should have just put his foot through the ball. Then the big man puts us 2-0 up On Saturday and I'm giving it we're not worthy signals. That for me is Chris Erskine and typifies Thistle...frustrating at times but feckin magic. I don't consider what I've said to be abuse, and hope anyone around me at the game isn't thinking I'm a 'bampot'. What was said last night that constitutes abuse (wasn't there btw so it wisnae me )?
  19. A bit of background, this was written in part (very very small part...changed DANCER to JAGS FANS ) by 4 Jags, Then the rest of the chorus was compiled by another Jag aided and abetted by me. The rest was written by me aided and abetted by the previous Jag (see, not claiming it as mine JaggyThistle ). It is not meant as a chant for fans, but as a potential song for the end of the season, Id buy it on CD anyway, but I'm bias. To the tune of Human by Killers (players names can be changed to other players) I could not help but notice, as the ball came down the line. Into the box by Chrisy Erskine, Doolan's there with loads of time. But sometimes he gets nervous, when he sees an open goal. Clear your mind! Swing your le-eg! (small pause....crowd cheering) THE JAGS HAVE SCORED!!! Are we human? Or are we Jags fans? Rowson's vital, while Doolan gets goals. And I'm in the Shed, singing for the Thistle. Are we human? Or are we Jags fans? Pay our respect to Pars and Falkirk, send our condolences to 'Ton. Say "get it up ye (ok, needs a bit of work here) Clyde and Airdrie, you always did the best you could. And so long to demotion, you gave us heavy hearted lows. Wave goodbye, to This-e-ell (more crowd cheering) THE JAGS ARE GOIN UP!!! Are we human....(chorus). Jackie's system worked alright, Made us dream and hope...oh shite (told you, needs a bit of work) But promotion is achieved and it lets me know that my heart's still beating. (chorus) THE JAGS ARE GOIN UP!!! (chorus).....fade out with the Jags fans singing 'we love you Thistle, we do' (maybe some more crowd noises or chanting)
  20. It's a diddy cup anyway, would rather win on Saturday and get 3 points in the bag. Back to red n yella pleasepleasepleasepleeeeeeaaasee.
  21. ...wait, naw it isnae, extra time defeats don't count. Let's all do the Firhill Dance, na nana nananana
