  1. I have a signal inside Victoria Park. Not sure how reliable it is.
  2. It's a 3 Dongle that I've got. Can get a strong signal outside Victoria Park but nothing inside the ground. It's the only ground I've experienced signal problems and we're there two weekends on the trot. Tad frustrating.
  3. Just a little heads up re the coverage on www.ptfc.co.uk re tomorrow’s game. Unless things have changed since last season, I can’t get an internet connection at Victoria Park. As a consequence it would seem very unlikely that we will be able to provide the usual Live Text Commentary service. Indeed not being able to get access to the ‘Local Press Box for Local People’ it will be difficult to get the lap top out in any case. There’s pretty much no dongle signal from Aviemore to about Perth so everything is likely to be that bit slower and delayed tomorrow. The same will apply next Sunday but there is at least live TV coverage of that fixture.
  4. MacBeth is presently injured. It was hoped that he would be back in training last week but he is still injured.
  5. The U17s are playing immediately before them (kick-off 12;15). They are worth watching. I like the look of McGrotty.
  6. Having watched Archie since he was about 16 and had the huge honour of serving on his testimonial committee I feel qualified to comment. I've rarely come across a footballer less filled by ego than he is. Professional is an over used phrase in football but it sums Alan Archibald up perfectly. Legend.
  7. My thanks to James, my number one fan. You don't live in Lenzie do you?
  8. Thank you. You will be pleased to learn that the team lines will be back in Saturday's programme and should be appearing on the back page of the programme for the remainder of the season. The Berwick Rangers crowd was corrected in the Falkirk programme. Your point re 'closed-door match' is noted. Thanks again, and feel free to PM/e-mail me any further observations you might have.
  9. Again, please accept my apology PaleGreySky, and anyone else who read it, my careless error once more. And thanks for drawing it to my attention. BTW, it's Mark Burbrige. First season at Firhill, ex St Mirren. The player profile section could do with being updated - will get on to that once Saturday's programme has gone to the printers.
  10. We wanted to get the centre spread back for photographs which meant moving the Ignis ad to the back page. That might be shifting elsewhere so we get the back page back for squad lists. It will defintely be back for the Ayr programme which, as a Challenge Cup tie, will be the usual 16 page programme for these games.
  11. Back injury apparently assuming my word is still worth anything.
  12. Yes a Thistle 'fan'. Spat at rather than upon to clarify.
  13. Don't normally post on a Saturday night when emotions are running high, and I'm very angry myself right now, but I wonder if those that were upset over what was supposed to have happened in Kirkcaldy feel about an, unnamed, Thistle player being spat upon at the full-time whistle today and another Thistle employee being told "hope you suffer a stroke" are as equally upset about that. Proud guys, just so very proud.

    Piranha-3D

After seeing the cinematic classic I'm sure it will walk off with numerous oscars. It's not just the story, which is deep and thought provoking, but the film score is fantastic and photography is simply beautiful. The unexpected twists keep you on the edge of your seat until the very finish. I don't want to give too much away about the finish but I'm not ashamed to say that I wept. So moving.
  15. Too much haste not enough attention to detail. Sorry. Will try harder on Saturday.
  16. Lance to Dundee? He wasn't at Firhill last night. Something is most certainly afoot. In Lance's case we will waive the right to compensation.
  17. I'm looking specifically for people to perform the following tasks: Carry my lap top bag. Plug my lap top in. Take the top off my pen. Open my notepad. Look busy while the game is on. All tasks vital to the running of the OS on a match day. I'm sure that Falkirk will come up with six or seven press passes. Lots of people in nice grey Falkirk suits walking about and looking important at Firhill tonight.
  18. More than one person representing Falkirk tonight. Wouldn't mind that kind of help myself. Anyone want to give me a hand when we are away at Falkirk?
  19. Yeah, I forgot too. Had been looking forward to hearing you tell everyone how you get your 'best' lines from me.

    Just In

Just in from the Billy Connelly 'Freedom of the City of Glasgow' gig at the City Chambers. Great, drunken, night and what a table I was at. John Byrne writer of Tutti Fruti sitting next to me. Does it get cooler than that?
  21. This is probably covered elsewhere in the thread or the links provided so ignore if you already have this information. Bates' involvement with Thistle happened almost by accident through a friendship with the then Thistle Chair Millar Reid. There was a share subscription and Bates agreed to purchase any unsold shares. There was a very poor up take in the purchase of shares and Bates, by default almost, ended up majority shareholder. I think in his time at Thistle he attended maybe two Thistle games. I can certainly remember him at one. 'Highlight' of his time at Firhill was destroying Gerry McNee in a tv (radio?) interview. McNee was making the not unreasonable point about Bates being absentee landlord etc only to be unable to form a reponse that was the same situation at Rangers who weren't doing too badly.
  22. http://www.ptfc.co.uk/news/2010-2011/august_2010/morton_v_partick_thistle_match_details Confirmation of arrangements, prices etc for Cappielow tomorrow here.
  23. Anyone go reguarly to watch the under 19s, or any of our other youth sides? If so and if you fancy helping me out over the course of the season please drop me a PM/e-mail.
