  1. We were told that 2, maybe 3, Livi players were sent off after the full-time whistle. One of whom hit/shoved the referee. Clearly a side that after a season of big win after big win couldn't handle losing and IMO poses questions as to their ability to make it in the game. Really proud of our players. Not all will make it as first team players but their sense of togetherness (they way they supported Kieran the day after his father died) and general attitude is simply first class on and off the pitch(they help me with boxes of programmes on match day). A lot of credit must go to Ian Cameron. Lets hope this is just the start.
  2. http://www.ptfc.co.uk/news/2009-2010/may_2010/thistle_lift_the_sfl_youth_cup Report and reaction. Livi's discipline went after the full-time whistle. Not used to losing.
  3. Pedantic point but I don't follow the arithmetic of the article. Ten first team players haven't been released. Five first team players have been released. Six in total when you add in Scott Tully. Ryan Conroy has returned to Celtic (not our player to release) and Jonny Tuffey was offered a new contract. Paddy Boyle and Mark Corcoran although free to find new clubs are still contracted for next season. It doesn't alter things any but it does irk me. Then again I am well over 24 hours without sleep and not at my best.
  4. Exit Poll : Hung Parliament. Tories 19 short of a overall majority. Just head to bed then?
  5. Did Andy Roxburgh not score a hat-trick in that game? Or have I got my wires totally crossed?
  6. Got my first introduction to Firhill that way. For some reason my father decided to take me to see a reserve game with Dundee United at Firhill. IMO you would be as well doing away with organised reserve team football altogether now especially if teams are operating with small squads. Arrange bounce matches as and when required. Our RLC campain this season took us to Annan and Stranraer which costs money and provides little benefit. At least nothing that you couldn't get from arranging bounce matches against teams in the same geographical when needed.
  7. It's been that much of an effort finding the time to fit in all the various re-arranged first team fixtures in all the SFL divisions, and all the attendant demands on small squads that that brought, that the RLC I think went very much on the back burner. Teams, I understand, have been fielding various youth teams just to try and get the matches played. I believe that a Thistle under 17 side, for example, played an East Stirling under 19 side a wee while ago.
  8. Livi site has kick-off as 2:30pm. Will need to confirm but as it is techincally their home game I would imagine that they would be correct.
  9. Thanks. Will have to look into all my options but that could be a worse train journey.
  10. Any psephologists (that the right word?) planning on sitting up all through the night/morning for the results tomorrow? Worth logging on here for the Thistle reaction to a long night?
  11. What's the park like? I know it is a 4G astro pitch but not whether it is spectator friendly. Don't drive and public transport to Livi I don't think is possible so on the scrounge for a lift. Hint, hint.
  12. I have read it and enjoyed it. It had a bit of a Rebus feel to it. Would rather he would just bring Rebus and Sibohan  back. Yes, I know she is only a character in a book.
  13. No, no, no. I know a lot of people had a great time in Blyth but we made the huge mistake of staying in Blyth on the Saturday night. Yikes. 'Highlight' of the night was meeting a Blyth director/club official in one of the local pubs. Seemed a nice guy and conversation moved from subject to subject before finally falling upon politics. "We don't have a p**i problem in Blyth", quote our erstwhile chum. Cue end of conversation. PS If you can't figure out what the problem they didn't have in Blyth just think the BNP.
  14. No, you are correct. Spent a season with St Johnstone.
  15. No, and not confirmed as Sunday yet though that is the likely date.
  16. Top three this season. 1. Kris Doolan v QOS 2. Simon Donnelly's free kick against QOS in the League Cup. 3. Martin Grehan v Ross County. All time top three. 1. Dorrans v Peterhead. 2. Gerry Britton v Dundee 3. George Shaw's 2nd against celtic Sept 92. Not a great goal but a late winners at Parkhead.
  17. Dropped just 5 points all season and scored 90+ goals in 19 league games. Will be tough.
  18. I knew there was something I meant to ask the manager this afternoon.
  19. Good try but not really worth the wait. I'd nothing to do with the, excellent, official history. Don't worry about the impending free transfer. We'll have you in for pre-season training if you can't get anything fixed up.
  20. No idea as to the where at the moment but likely to be next Sunday.

  22. Would expect an announcement early next week. For information, and in no way a list of frees, the out of contract players as per the end of the season are: Ryan Conroy (end of loan) Martyn Corrigan Simon Donnelly Bryn Halliwell Craig Hinchcliffe Ian Maxwell Jonny Tuffey Scott Tully
  23. Oxford United fan. He wore his Oxford top to every game. I quite like the idea of visiting every team during the course of the season. Might even do it one day.
  24. New forum same shite pictures. Nae baws - again! :-) Captions all wrong. Shame, shame, shame. Sad thing is Tommy's sitting directly across from me right now. Too much after season beer.
