Not because of who he played for but because of his managerial record,no way.Would have been better to stick with Archie and Shaggy than appoint him.

This. Plus we had 5 years in the premiership and finished 6th our highest position in 35 years, during that period. There is no doubt that last season and the beginning of the league campaign this season has been poor. Unfortunately this meant they had to go. But lets not undestimate the job that both Archibald and Paterson done before last season.

To early imo. But whoever the management team are they should use the experience that Dools and Erskine have at Firhill to help them. Maybe a few years down the line the dream team will happen.

Brother in law is Morton fan and was not bothered when they sacked Duffy,said he always played players out of position.During our play off against Livi Duffy spoke about how to beat them,but his Morton side never managed to beat them once last season.

Although our results/performances have been poor since we got top 6 it was still a big decision for the board to sack the management team. Imo we should wait and see who applies for the job. But as has also been suggested we may already have somebody ready to come in.

Glad everybody enjoyed this. Well done to jagfox who won Blair Spittal's top in this competition and also thistle4celtic1 who won Jack Storer's top in Bowen Boys world cup competition.As I have said I will have a competition for Shea Gordon's home top in 2019 and I hope everybody joins in to try and win that. Thanks again to everybody who has taken part.

This. Get the right person in and we can still do well this season as I feel we do have a decent squad.

I take it whoever we appoint will be expected to get promotion or top 4 at least. So I think we need somebody with experience although Archie was a novice and won us promotion.

Sad day and as the statement says the achievements of Archibald and Paterson can never be taken away. But unfortunately it had to happen as we have been poor for the last 18 months or so and it did not look as if Archie and Shaggy could turn the form around.

Genuine thanks to Archie and Paterson for what they have done for Partick Thistle F.C. But I think this is the best thing for both parties.

Nobody predicted an away win today so everybody loses a life.So we have a winner the only competitor with any life's left is jagfox. They finished with 1 life. Congratulations to jagfox. No fight and no clue.I have said in the past Archibald should get to Christmas and a few weeks ago I said he should get up to our home game against Ayr but I now think if he is still in charge for next week he is very lucky. We were 2-0 down today and I think I am right in saying we played the last 15 minutes or so without a recognised striker.
