  1. Jamie Campbell's at Clydebank and Glenn Daniels is at Fortuna Sittard.
  2. Thought the team were very impressive and deserved the victory. The defence were solid and very organised. That's twice I've seen Meechan and he's been fantastic both times. His positioning needs work on but he's a very good player. Brownlie and Lindsey dealt with everything thrown their way. Keenan looked dodgy at times in the first half but grew into the game. Wilson was tidy on the ball and made some good runs forward. Gallagher was the man of the match for me, great passing, isn't afraid to get stuck in and got through a tonne of work. Colina drifted in and out the game but when he got involved he looked a cut above. McAleer and McDaid, too, drifted in and out but both had good games. - I agree with someone earlier saying that McDaid has something about him. Duggan worked his socks off and held the ball up well and I can see him featuring in the first-team this season.
  3. Watt isn't very good. There's also not a chance that he'll join us.
  4. This might've been discussed, but is it set seating or will it be similar to the North where you buy a ticket and sit wherever you want? Set seating often kills the atmosphere.
  5. It's the first time I can remember him having a poor game for us. One bad game in 65 isn't bad tbh.
  6. If we had signed someone from the Juniors who had previously been below average at SFL1 (albeit in a different position) then there would have been a lot of people doubting Archie.
  7. Would be a poor signing.
  8. I agree that making a lot of changes isn't always a good thing, but we need players playing competitive games. Fox McMillan Gabriel/Muirhead Gabriel/Balatoni Sinclair Craigan Osbourne Forbes Mukendi Baird Elliot
  9. Who will lift the flag before the game? My guess would be Beattie. I wouldn't have a problem with that as he did oversee and help us win the league. My choice to do it though would be Archie or Robert Reid.
  10. Carey would be a good signing. Don't see it happening though.
  11. Pretty sure we played a Cypriot army team whilst we had a pre-season training camp over there the last time we were in the SPL. 18-0 was the score IIRC.
  12. My choice would be Muirhead. Fox or Balatoni would be good choices too. Shug would obviously be a good candidate too but I'd rather it be someone who will play most games.
  13. What did he say abiut Thistle fans? I can't remember anything.
  14. That was my view of it. I don't think the players are being told to delete it, just to be careful what they post. There's going to be more of a media focus on us and all it takes is a drunk tweet or a heat of the moment tweet from a player that will get them in trouble. I seem to remember Sinclair criticising the ref a few seasons ago; if someone did something similar next season surely that would get them in trouble with the SFA?
  15. Morton have signed Andy Barrowman. Good news for us. I had a horrible feeling we were going to sign him.
  16. He's just moved into a new flat with his pregnant burd and will play in the top tier of his own country. Can't see second-tier Dutch football tempting him much.
  17. We're fine for goalkeepers. Right-back we're well covered with SOD likely to be the first choice if we're playing with 4 at the back and McMillan aswell. If both are out then Welsh and Muirhead can fill in. Left-back we have enough IMO. Sinclair will be the first-choice and McMillan can play there too - as can Bannigan but only if the other 2 are out. We need another 2 CBs, preferably both left-sided. At the moment we only have two so I presume another one will be high on Archie's list. Yes, McMillan played well against Raith last season at CB but I wouldn't be comfortable with him being the first choice back-up. A defensive midfielder is something we desperately need. Stuart Kettlewell would've been my preferred player to bring in but he's signed a new contract with County. We could do with another box-to-box/attacking midfielder too but I wouldn't make that a priority just now. In the wide positions we probably need another 2 players. At the moment we only have Lawless and Elliot. Lawless will be a starter but I don't think Elliot will be - or at least not at the beginning of the season. Forbes, Bannigan and Welsh could play as the wide players of a midfield 4 but I don't think Welsh or Forbes would be impressive as the wide one of a front 3 - Bannigan would do okay but I'd rather him in the middle. We need another striker. Just now we only have Doolan, Baird and McGuigan. I'd loan out McGuigan for the first half of the season, preferably to a SFL1 team (Dumbarton maybe, they'll be looking to replace Lister). I wouldn't be keen on him going to Albion Rovers again because if we need him in the scond half of the season we'll be asking him to go from SFL3 to the SPL. We definitely need a target-man type player who could hold the ball up. John Sutton or Lee Miller would be ideal but I don't see that happening. If we stick with the same formation as we played most of last season I'd say we'd be going with: Fox O'Donnell Muirhead Balatoni Sinclair Forbes/Welsh New Bannigan Lawless Doolan/New New I reckon we'll play 3-5-2 at times aswell so: Fox Balatoni Muirhead McMillan/New O'Donnell------------------------------------Sinclair Welsh/Forbes New Bannigan With the forwards we would have a few options. If we were away to Celtic or someone else at the top then I'd go with Doolan/New with Lawless floating about. Or we could go with any combination of Doolan, New and Baird.
  18. Sekhon wasn't given a new deal because he isn't very good.
  19. We'd probably be able to offer about a quarter (at the most) of what Barr was on at Hearts. He's also a pish RB. I'd much rather have Saunders.
  20. Not a chance we'll sign him. If it hadn't been for injuries he would probably still be at Parkhead.
