  1. Ok - I wasn't aware that the playing budget wouldn't be affected re the old firm fixtures. However, Gordon was brought in because of Dumbuya's injury and for no other reason. Crawford was only temporary to cover Cerny's injury. Then Scully gets injured and we need to bring in Stuckman. All of these must have affected how much was available for a Central Defender. Other clubs have injuries - but we have had 2 keepers out at the same time and had no cover at right back.
  2. You can definitely argue a case against "we've only got ourselves to blame" We had terrible "luck" on the injury front, particularly with Cerny and then Scully, just when he seemed to be improving. We also had Dumbuya injuring himself just before pre season and meaning we had to spend money on Gordon. Also, don't forget the debacle around only getting 2 games at Firhill vs our Glasgow neighbours, costing us probably over £100,000.
  3. 1st condition fulfilled. Motherwell lose a last minute goal.
  4. As you say, at the moment - there are 24 more games to go
  5. It is actually 3 points dropped vs Rangers. However, you probably should offset the lost points against those gained in the last 10 mins, but it won't take away from your point
  6. What do we do differently away from home. We haven't conceded any in the last 15 mins
  7. My comparison to the Aberdeen game wasn't the time of the goal but the fact that the ball was at our corner flag and seconds later was in the net. However, there is another similarity to the Aberdeen game. Against Aberdeen we score and a few minutes later have conceded, just like yesterday. There is maybe a question over concentration from the players ?
  8. I don't know if most goals are scored in the last 10 mins. I am pretty sure we don't score many in the last 10mins. However, if it is common to lose goals in the last 10, it makes it even more ridiculous the amount of criticism the team( or Archie) are getting.
  9. Unfortunately the stats aren't backing that up. We lose so many late goals that suggests that the backup players aren't good enough to see a game out.
  10. That is the point of my post - that without 25% of our starters it isn't surprising that we are in the position we are in.
  11. I am not sure that there was any done deal on Bannigan. Barnsley were interested, but that was before they got promoted. Also, Bannigan committed to us before the length of his injury became apparent.
  12. Unfortunately there are some who aren't interested in reality. What do people expect when 3 certain starters have been missing the whole season just about and the keeper we have is 3rd choice.THAT is the reality of our situation.
  13. I don't think it is right to say we don't compete against these teams. We have been unlucky against Hearts, Aberdeen and Rangers this season. We just can't score when on top or hold on to a lead when we have it.
  14. I think the average wage would mean quite a lot to the players though
  15. I agree - the chart would be much clearer if it showed the total squad size
  16. The biggest surprise for me is the gap between Aberdeen and Hearts
  17. ST holders aren't being allocated seats in either Main stand or North stand - it is just turn up and go into either stand. So wouldn't think that buying extra tickets will cause a problem unless you sit in a North stand ST holders seat
  18. It doesn't matter where the points come from, just as long as we get more than at least 2 teams below us. And at the moment that is the case. Don't get me wrong, I would love to get results against them, but so far haven't lost to anyone outside the top 4
  19. I guess he needs to win the final, though as he got a walkover to convince others that he deserves it.
  20. Something you don't realise when you are at the game until you see highlights later. Just watched the Beeb highlights and here are my thoughts 1) Almost all of our highlights included a Welsh cornered or free kick. Maybe he is improving. 2) Aberdeen's 1st was lucky. The ball bounced off Rooney's knee to O'Connor 3) If Barton hadn't scored but been awarded a penalty(some hope) McLean would have been booked for the push 4) From Azeez losing the ball at our corner flag, there were 3 additional touches until Stockley scored 5) We should have had a penalty when Osman fell in the box - even if he did swan dive I think we are disappointed because we could have got at least a draw even although Aberdeen played better. We competed and had decent chances. That isn't always the case.
  21. We made the same 2 substitutions last week against St J and it worked. Anyway, I am not sure that I would call Amoo a midfielder.
  22. We should have been 2 up before they scored. Azeez again squandering a one on one and Devine putting over from a couple of feet. Can't agree about Welsh's corners. They were much better tonight. It was clear that Aberdeen are a much better team than us, but we could have drawn that game at least. As far as refereeing is concerned it amazes me how many decisions the "big" teams get.
  23. It is going to be a hard one for the manager. He can't drop Doolan, who is maybe just coming into some scoring form. The ball pretty much sticks to Azeez when played up to him as his strength allows him to hold off the defenders. That leaves Edwards, which would be harsh. Some signs yesterday that he links pretty well with Doolan
