  1. Birmingham City away strip - https://www.facebook.com/officialbristolrovers/photos/a.898480926892791.1073741876.114130001994558/898487276892156/?type=3&theater
  2. Sorry, but was just really annoyed when I saw the share, having received the request to keep schtoom from Firhill. There's so much criticism of TAG (much of it rightly), that when they do trial something and someone has possibly jeopardised that by doing something they were specifically asked not to, it did piss me off and I got on my high horse. However it does look to have been very successful and the world didn't come crashing down. I have no desire to be part of any exclusive in crowd for these broadcasts - I want them as a permanent feature of TAG, regardless of level of membership. And, yes, if we want this, we need to pay for it. Happy to apologise to GPT and anyone else that thought I was ott, but I do hope folks can understand my initial annoyance.
  3. What part of this message from Firhill didn't you ( or whoever gave you the link) understand? "Tomorrow’s trial is predominately based around assessing our bandwidth capacity and what limits, if any, we have on our connection. There is, therefore, a small risk that after X amount of listeners we won’t be able to accommodate any more. This is something we can’t plan for at the moment because we simply don’t know. I’d also ask that you don’t share the streaming information as we don’t want the connection to be completely overwhelmed." Edited to add - didn't notice that Twinny had already pulled you up on it!.
  4. Still wearing this one - my favourite of the white ones. Perhaps the best quality of any Jags top I've bought.
  5. Naw! There's a few Nomad "locals" heading down according to the Facebook Nomad page.
  6. Received in deepest Wiltshire! Happy with that. Will probably get some initial dirty looks/abuse for wearing a red shirt (Bristol Shitty colours) at the first Bristol Rovers home game!
  7. WTF don't they understand about punters wanting stuff in the team colours? Or is it a bit of a hint about our new away strip colours?
  8. I've adopted Bristol Rovers since moving down this way and they get nearly twice the crowds The Jags get. The shop at the ground is open on weekdays as it's staffed then by the same people that work in the office. The shop is not that much bigger than the outlet in the Jackie Husband Stand. Not been in the main stand for years, so don’t know how feasible having a shop right next to the office is. However, the range of merch far exceeds anything that I've ever seen on offer at any of the Jags' shops. Volunteers from the Supporters club help out on matchdays and it closes 10 minutes before kick-off. The shop is under the East Stand and only accessible after you enter through the turnstiles for the East side of the ground - the majority of the crowd is in the north terracing (yes- terracing!). But they do have a portacabin, staffed by volunteers, accessible to all open on matchdays with the most popular stuff. The Gas' Supporters Club operates a Supporters Club shop in Kingswood, Bristol which sells merch and tickets, with profits going to the club. Jags equivalent would be to have a Supporters Club shop in Dumbarton Road, Partick. Main point of this post is that you, the fans could get more involved, instead of just whingeing about it. They’ve already asked for volunteers for matchdays for certain roles, so you could suggest they add working in the club shop to that list. (Edited to add - Rovers delivery charge for a t-shirt is £3.50 - I do agree that £5.95 is excessive, but I've paid it!)
  9. I've got these - bought them last November when the ground at the local Parkrun started to get pretty muddy and slippery, so needed a pair of trail shoes. Wasn't wanting to spend megabucks on them, so these suited me just fine - they do them in a variety of colours, but there was only one choice for me!
  10. When I bought a Highlanders rugby top (no allegiances, just liked it) a few years back, I complained that the sponsors logo has come off and was asked if I had used fabric conditioner, which I (well, Mrs R actually) had. Didn't read the instructions, which clearly stated "Do not use fabric conditioner" as does all of my other sports/running tops. So if you want the logo to come off, try washing it with some extra fabric conditioner.
  11. When I saw this http://www.brfcdirect.co.uk/prod5.asp?prod_id=481&id=290&grpid=481&msg=&offset= at the start of last season, I thought that with red replacing the blue, that would be a great Jags away top. (The Gas are my adopted team down here)
  12. The one that really, really, really pisses me off is "He was entitled to go down" Pundits endorsing cheating.
  13. Nov 76, my mate and I decided to make a weeks holiday of the away Anglo Scottish match at Leyton Orient. My Aunt & Uncle stayed in Clapham, and we had been down for Wembley on a few occasions. Earlier that year The Who had played at a certain east-end stadium and there was an advert in the programme "Roger Daltrey wears Kickers" and there was only one Kickers shop in the UK in the Kings Road. We went down on the overnight bus on the Thursday, deciding to give the Jags' home match that Saturday a miss. After buying my kickers, (£14 was a lot for shoes in '76) we listened on the radio as Whittaker scored a late winner against Rangers. Went out clubbing in Kings Road and ended up having to stagger back all the way to Clapham in the pissing rain with my heels bleeding like f*** because of these bloody kickers. Pissed down all day Sunday and Monday and the Orient match was called off. Went to see someone's testimonial at Upton Park/Boleyn Ground v Fulham when George Best was playing for Fulham instead.
  14. Their reply - can't fault them on response time, but let's see what happens tomorrow. Saturday's is still not up. "Dear Jim Many thanks for signing up to TAG. Further to your comments the Club apologises for the delay in the programme upload and accept that your request is not unreasonable. Please be assured the Club is looking into this matter and the additional items which you raise and will follow up with a response as a matter of course. Many thanks for your support of Partick Thistle FC and TAG Kind Regards Caroline Brazill Operations Manager"
  15. I've emailed the club as well with the following - Dear Tag, One of the big attractions for me was the online programme, thinking that I would be able to access this on the day of the game, before the match started and read alongside watching the text updates, or indeed watching live games on TV. So there was double disappointment on Friday, with both the result and the non-appearance of the programme. Now Sunday and it's still not there. The ICT programme did not appear until mid-match and only then following complaints from fellow Nomads of a blank screen resulting from using the link provided. Hopefully, this is but a hiccup (well two hiccups), but please - and I'm sure I speak for all those who follow the Jags from afar - we want the programme online by a couple of hours before whatever KO time is. £12 quid a month is a substantial commitment for me and I expect a decent service. Suggestion: I'm sure there will be other clubs with online programme schemes - would it be possible to have a reciprocal agreement with those clubs so that we get the away programmes as well? Regards, Jim Rudge
  16. No online programme on Tag pre-match again. Arrived during the ICT match after complaints of a blank screen, but not even a link to it tonight. Poor start.
  17. Got a PM saying that it's been fixed - happily reading the programme as I listen to Sportsound, watch the text update, and check the comments on here. Who says men can't multitask!?
  18. Paid my dosh, where's my online programme for the ICT game? Oops again? Can open the other 3, but not today's.
  19. 1. Dreeping down the wall at the end of the game to get on to the pitch to get autographs. 2. Swapping ends at half-time at away games 3. Macaroon bars and spearmint chewing gum
  20. Maybe it's these new red'n'yella tinted specs, but it looked to me (via the highlights) that Higgy jumped over the keeper and didn't keep his feet, rather than a blatant dive. If it was a dive wee Tom Daley's got nuthin tae worry aboot and I'm disappointed in that from a Jags player (Disappointed in the fact that he cheated not in the quality (or lack of it) of the dive!!)
  21. Going by the photo it's not red'n'yella enough.
  22. Sad state of affairs that an English "3rd Tier" side is bidding for our Premier players and will probably pay more. Then there's the debate about the standard of play........
  23. Thanks for the history JR. Flemings first goal was a penalty I'm sure - anyway I missed it because some idiot pushed in front of me. Dad told me I said it didn't matter "because we'll score lots more". That confidence took a bit of a beating over the years! Know my Dad went to the Junior final as well, because he missed very few up until the mid-seventies. We used to follow the Peasie until they got knocked out, but usually went to the final no matter who played.
  24. Just thought I'd share that 7:20pm (approx) this evening will mark 50 years since I first crossed the Firhill threshold as an 8 year-old. 15th May 1964 - Summer Cup, Partick Thistle 7, Third Lanark 2. Thanks Dad, for this life-defining moment!
