  1. Thanks for the advice Stolenscone Partick Thistle are not a public traded company are they? So the shares do not trade on the open market and there's no requirement for a annual shareholders meeting?
  2. Jordanhill Jag, do you know who the board are accountable to? Is there a mechanism in place for the clubs shareholders to call an extraordinary meeting, to challenge or remove the officers of the board?
  3. Thanks FT, I've had a look at the long list of shareholders, some larger than others, none with overall control. Do you know if the Board gets elected by the Shareholders? Or do they just appoint each other?
  4. Thanks Eljaggo, so the fans own 25% and the Weirs 10%. This just leaves the other 65% of shares/ownership to account for.
  5. Thanks for your reply Javeajag. From what I understand, although I may be wrong. Propco are Thistle minded investors, who lent the club £1 million pounds and have security over the main stand and the bing and receive £100,000 per year for this loan. I don't know if this arrangement is still in place? The Weirs bankroll the youth academy and cleared £700, 000 worth of clubs outstanding debt, although I believe the club is still in hoc to Propco for £1 million. The Weirs are building a training ground off their own backs, which they will then rent to the club at a favourable rate. Propco, are secure creditors of the club owning half of Firhill. Who own the other half of Firhill? How much of anything do the Weirs own any of the club? Other than that I honestly haven't got a clue who actually owns what, or how much and what control and influence they wield.
  6. Not really, because you can have a board of Directors which include the Chairman, Chief Executive, Secretary etc, who don't own any of the club. They can be appointed, they may be superficially in charge of the club, but they don't ultimately call the shots, they are mere figure heads. I just want to find out, who or whom is actually in charge. Who owns Thistle?
  7. That's where we differ Allyo. I don't blame Gary Caldwell at all. I blame the people who hired him. They should have known better.
  8. Who appoints "The Board"?
  9. If it's not the Weirs, who calls the shots at Thistle? Who is charge? Where does the buck stop?
  10. Let's put it this way, If the Weirs appointed Jacqui Low as Chairman and Gerry Britton as Chief Executive. Perhaps it was the Weirs that insisted on Gary Caldwell as manager acting through Jacqui Low? Who knows? What is for sure; is that someone appointed Gary Caldwell, Gerry Britton and Jacqui Low. If these appointments were made by the Weirs and they turn out to be successful, then the Weirs will deserve much credit. For good or ill someone somewhere has to take ultimate responsibility for the running of the club. The buck has to stop somewhere.
  11. Someone has to take responsibility. Do they not?
  12. Very good result. Pretty much onto a hiding to nothing, a defeat or a draw would have been treated as a disaster and a narrow victory would have failed to impress. That's 3 games undefeated. We need to win our next game against QOS. The next 3 games are massive and we need to take points from both ICT and Alloa.
  13. Would be pleasantly surprised if he turned it around. Let's put it this way I would much rather Gary Caldwell "turn the tanker around" than we get relegated again. If he manages to keep us up it will be a relief more than a cause for celebration.
  14. If the Weirs appointed Jacqui Low and she appointed Caldwell, then it's the Weirs that should take the credit or the blame for the success or otherwise of the club.
  15. I always thought that Stevie Lawless was our most talented player during the Archie years and that for the most part, he was a totally underused and wasted asset. I think the likes of Lawless and Chris Erskine would always thrive with better players around them. I would also say the same of Kris Doolan. We are now so bad that these type of players really struggle to function properly when playing with us. We all make mistakes Third Lanark, none of us are perfect. Nevertheless, over the long period of Archie's reign, he got a lot more things right than wrong. Can we say the same about Gary Caldwell's (admittedly brief) tenure?
  16. Hallelujah. The Happy Clappers and Knicker Wetters are united at last
  17. I read enough. Even at our lowest ebb, we are far better than the old firm. Can't be easy for the few decent posters on there that weren't having it, who were more interested in a players ability than his name. Sadly these decent enough supporters are outnumbered on that forum and I dare say it will be mirrored on some Celtic forum. This is why we have to get our act together and smash the evil stranglehold that the old firm have over the people of Glasgow
  18. I am starting to sense that Gary Caldwell's honeymoon period is drawing to a close.
  19. I think (may be wrong) that Archie & Shaggy were already contracted to the end of this season, they had signed a 2 year deal.
  20. As said before Jordanhill Jag, our trouble is at the top. Caldwell is only a symptom of the illness effecting our club, he is not the cause and removing him will not be a cure.
  21. Not now it's not. We're stuck with Caldwell.
  22. Would say that's the main reason Chris Erskine's services have been dispensed of. Caldwell will be congratulating himself with making a smart move, taking out a viable option to replace him. It seems that Caldwell is not satisfied with building his own gallows at record speed. He has now moved onto the rope and tightening it around his neck.
  23. Sorry, I thought it would be the perfect platform, but if you want to keep the lid on the box for the moment. Fair enough.
