  1. And talk of 23 team EPL .... equivalent to our 13-10-10-9 (or 13-10-10-11) reconstruction
  2. Exactly that. A company where all the shares are owned by an individual, or by the board members can do pretty much what they like. Effectively they report to themselves.
  3. Bill Gates foundation is providing finances to ensure that any vaccine is available globally
  4. It would be the shareholders of the club who would deselect members of the board at an AGM (or EGM if it was serious) if they were not working in the best interests of the organisation they have invested in. Effectively what Rangers, Hearts and Stranraer are doing to the SPFL.
  5. Fiduciary duty means that they have to work in the best interests of the organisation that they manage. So, for ICT, the directors might have considered that the best interest was to play the remainder of the games, including a cup final and any play offs. I think that East Fife might also be in line for play-offs, so that could be argued to be in their best interest.
  6. On a white background. I really don’t like black strips
  7. I think it is decided and that unless there is reconstruction of the leagues, Stranraer and ourselves will be relegated. I am also pretty sure that this was known when the vote was made. The reconstruction may come as a saviour for us, but as things stand we will be a League One club next year.
  8. Someone might complain about an extra club getting a divvy of the payout. What about 13-10-10-9 edit, with some of the revenue from the extra SPL gate money going to the league 2 teams who have 2 home games less
  9. I wonder if we will ever get to play in the 20/21 kit
  10. One league of 44 ... play each other once and reverse the fixtures for the next season. What could be fairer than that
  11. Not particularly. This was a vote about what to do with the SPFL. Brechin are a member of the organisation while Brora/Keilty are not. If Brechin were to be relegated, it would effectively be the other members voting to kick them out of the organisation. Thistle/Stranraer/Hearts may be relegated but will still be members of the SPFL.
  12. I'm not so sure that any clubs will go to the wall. HMRC are usually the ones to pull the trigger, but that is highly unlikely to happen in the current climate. I think that all 42 clubs will survive, just that some will be financially stronger than others.
  13. I'm not sure if we are using the furlough scheme, but if we release the players now then we would need to pay full salaries upto the end of the contract. If we keep them until the end, the government will pay a proportion of the wages
  14. You would assume top 6 from league one. What other options is there ?
  15. Or in 3 years time we might be in the Champions League final
  16. The other teams in the Premier League want to play the Old Firm 4 times
  17. Premier league money was not distributed as the league was not terminated. That was just the lower leagues. Still double standards
  18. To be fair, average point is what they used for our league. The difference is that no teams changed places as a result.
  19. Rather than getting rid of teams from the bottom, why not get rid of some from the top. I can think of 2 for starters.
  20. It may be a great idea for the benefit of Scottish football, but no way on earth that the current SPFL member clubs would ever vote for this I think that we would need 28 clubs to resign from SPFL and set up a new organisation, similar to when the original SPL was set up many years ago.
  21. But there would need to be a way for all clubs to make money (or at least not make a loss) when staging a closed doors match. Would it be viable for QotS, Alloa or Arbroath to set up a streaming service ? How many would really pay to watch Thistle v Morton if there was an English or Scottish top flight game on at the same time (presumably those with season tickets would get the streaming of closed door games included).
  22. And how many would be willing to pay for live steaming of Annan v Elgin ? It would cost more to put on the game than it would make in revenue. Leave aside the social distancing issues, i just can't see how closed door games is viable for anything other than top flight clubs
  23. I can see how it works in Bunesliga where TV companies will be offering deals to screen every match, but how does it work in the Scottish Championship (or League One) ? With no money coming through the turnstile, where does the revenue to put on the match come from ?
