  1. Brilliant ! When was the last time Scotland won on a Friday night ?
  2. Great ! Scotland humped and Thistle humped on the same day and I have to work a night shift. Does anyone have any good news ?
  3. Tam McMannus ..... The new Owen Coyle !
  4. As others have said, the cost of sacking him would wreck us. Whether we like it or not, McCall will be here until his contract ends, another club comes in for him or he walks away. (If he does go, I think that Martin O'Neil could do a job and he is free )
  5. Welcome to Firhill Conrad Balatoni. I hope that you have a great career at Firhill
  6. Not having 4 players twiddling their thumbs every week has to be a better asperation. Having a manager that can adapt tactics to suit the available players in a small squad would also be a good asperation. We don't have the finances to have 2 players for every position
  7. That suggests that the delay is not with the club but with the player or his agent. Could this be another of the "bash the board" posts without knowing the facts that are starting to make this forum tedious.
  8. The omly bad one is the Brighton monstrosity. I think that the West Ham shirt is a cracker and I like the Oxford shirt too
  9. I don't see any wonder squads in this league. It will all come down to luck in a few key games, but I reckon on 5th or 6th at the end of the season.
  10. Looking then at Saturday 30th October at home to Cowdenbeith. That will give everyone time to sort out the cheepest tickets available. So .... Niw we have a date and a fixture, who else is interested ? Unfortunately MJ Annan is now a no go. Some distant outlaw's 60th wedding
  11. Not that much of a difference. Looking at 11th September and the Stirling Albion game as an example, the cheapest flights that I can do are £85 from Heathrow (and there are not many left at that price. 2 advanced single tickets on the train would be £78 from Euston.
  12. I'm looking into the possibility of setting up an Exiles trip to Firhill for a home match. The idea is that all of us from down south can make every effort to get up for the same game, sometime in September or October. Bring your mates if you can, introduce the EPL softies to proper football ! This post is just to gauge interest to see if it is worthwhile following up. If there are enough of us then I'll contact the club to see if they can do anything for us. Looking at trains heading South from Central, the last direct train to London is at 17:40 which is just about makeable after the game. There is also an 18:00 and 18:40 to Birmingham which has connections to London and other destinations. Please let me know if there is any interest and I'll post up potential games.
  13. Am I the only one that finds the Spanish style boring. Pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass. Lots of possesion but absolutely no end result until the other team are bored out of their skulls. C'mon the Dutch. At least their football has some purpose to it.
  14. Just checked the train times, and for anyone coming from south of the border it would be very hard to get home on the same day from anywhere North of Glasgow. Setting up a date at Firhill or Dumfries would include far more exiled Jags who would love to take part.
  15. I voted for the Doonhamers as if is closest to Manchester. I think though that it would be a far better idea to set up a date at Firhill where everybody tries to get to.
  16. I hate Uruguay after what they did in '86. C'mon the Dutch
  17. It may go against everyone else here and the general theme of England bating, but I'm with Alan Green on this one. I don't care what the country is or what the song is or if it has lines about crushing rebellious Scots, they all deserve respect and I find the booing of any national anthem abhorrent.
  18. And what makes you think we could afford these players even if in the SPL ? We should concentrate more on West Glasgow before looking at East Asia.
  19. It should be a fair game, but I fancy Ivory Cost to get a hat full from North Korea. That could get very interesting if Brazil could take the lead. The other one to look out for is Chile to beat Spain. South American teams are doing very well and Europe are struggling. I can easily see Spain following Italy and France.
  20. Are there not terms in the contract that say we can't change our shirt before a certain date (June 30th would make sense). If that is the case then there is vry little that the club can do about it.
  21. Can the Binos survive ? Of course they can. They can even win the league if they win more games than anyone else. WILL the Binos survive ? Probably not. The squad was pretty poor and they have lost a couple of players and have no money to replace them. Do we have anything against them ? No. A good day out when we go there
  22. While Klose's first yellow was harsh, Klose was a bloody idiot for tackling from behind when on a booking and with a card happy ref. There was no need for the challenge in midfield and deserved the red card for bloody stupidity if not for the challenge. In general I think that the referees have been pretty good and consistent within a game.
  23. In defense of the vuvuzella, You didn't here the ****ing annoying Ingerlund band.
