  1. Thought that as well. Plus Stenny of all teams have built a team round experienced players. If Fraser wasn't getting a game down to other youngsters being preferred then it would be more revealing. Not every loan deal works out as we of all fans should know only too well.
  2. Correct. It's called Grazing Rights.
  3. I believe about 350 are on sale at Firhill.
  4. There just no Hope re above post. The Road to Armageddon, anyone?
  5. ....FIVE years since a Thistle player scored a hat trick for the Jags? I make it 18th Nov 2006 when Roberts got three against Accies. Since Roberts scored those three goals I think we've had maybe 5 hat tricks scored against us.... McMenamin (a couple of times), Baird, Weatherson & Cardle. I find it hard to believe that there'll be many, if indeed any, of our regular competitors that will have gone so long without a player bagging three in a game. So who'll be the next Jags player to score a hat trick and how soon?
  6. First game late '61 Rough J Hansen Campbell McKinnon(Donnie) Whittaker Glavin Charnley McParland(capt) McQuade McBride Johnston No nonsense centre backs, creative full backs, midfielders that would never be pushed off the ball and an unorthodox unreadable player in a free role behind two goal machines (one of whom probably has the highest goals to games ratio in Scottish football). Most notable omissions perhaps are... 1/Alan Hansen. Great player as he went on to become I didn't see him having too many great games for us as a centre back. Nothing to do with where I was in Spain '82, honest. 2/Alex Forsyth. Despite Alex having such a powerful shot Whittaker just shades it for me on all round ability. 3/Tommy Ewing (2nd period). I know he'd be a lot more consistent than Big Denis but very close call. I wouldn't drop McParland (see below) 4/Kenny Watson. McParland's versatility alone is enough to put him ahead of Kenny. Two great leaders but a captain that also can play in so many positions would be invaluable.
  7. and here's me thinking Cowdenbeath was Injun country
  8. Actually I'm sure he contributed in no small way to McCall's sacking.
  9. At least we still get a split of the gate. I don't know how the early start, which was inevitable if they didn't switch venue, will suit everyone. Since this is the SFA that's meeting tomorrow there's also the possibility they could order a replay
  10. Your enemy's enemy is your friend.
  11. Seems a weird one. I know he didn't exactly do that great in the SPL but he certainly appeared good enough the season Accies got promoted. Hard to believe he's playing for Blyth while Lucas Akins is getting a regular game at Tranmere. I know Offiong is from Geordieland so maybe it suits him to be playing locally . Never been too sure about Samuel. Not exactly noted for his hard work.
  12. On the more than reasonable assumption we're not going to win Div 1 this season I like the idea of Ross Co going up and Hibs coming down. Football is in a shocking state in this country and we really must do everything we can to at least ensure that our premier league suffers the least. We surely don't want to see clubs like Motherwell, Dunfermline & Kilmarnock run into further difficulties? Regular trips to both Inverness & Dingwall (in addition to Aberdeen) would be a welcome tonic for these sleeping giants. Besides County going up and ICT staying put would not only rejuvenate the SPL it would provide a welcome boost for one of our few remaining major industries, ie yon chippy in Auchterarder.
  13. Must be an age thing but I was just thinking more or less leave the Bing the way it is and you could watch the game lying down.
  14. As Allan H says. The Motherwell Rule would apply in both instances.
  15. Not really Good to see MacBeth getting a run out. Robertson will likely replace Lindsay on the bench for Saturday with the view to maybe starting him the following week. re Robertson I think he's an OK centre back but I never want to see him in midfield again.
  16. Had the misfortune to hear Calderwood's extremely cringeworthy post match interview on Radio Scotland. He adopted the tell it like it is approach and basically hung himself out to dry. Total honesty in a post match interview against a backdrop of a fans demo wasn't exactly the best way to hold on to his job.
  17. You really really don't appreciate anything Kirkcaldy related. Do you, Grant?
  18. On the face of it that seems very good business.
  19. No, I don't suppose you would. So have you a solution or something?
