  1. Prices were about 12p a pint and 14p a quarter gill back then. Round it up to 15p across the board and the Club could keep the extra
  2. Was Ian C Jnr not with us back in 05/06 or am I just having another one of my regular senior moments?
  3. Have you thought that thru, Grant? What would have happened to us had he stayed on? My guess would be at best we'd have had to unload him and few other higher earners by the January to avoid administration. In a rather perverted way we should be glad of Calum Melville.
  4. Thanks, told you I was useless with these things
  5. It was the subject of the Radio 5 live phone-in this morning. Didn't really listen to much of it but serious tho' the issue undoubtedly is I had to chuckle at the various attempts to decipher Vlad's website rant.
  6. That's because their ticket allocation has been sold out . If only
  7. I'm useless with timetables but when I go up to Dingwall I've got the bus back to Inverness and that gets you a couple of pints then I get the 18.43 train. I'm assuming you've got to designate which train you're wanting so if I book 16.37 from Dingwall return that gets you on the 18.43 at Inverness. Does that make sense? edited to add thanks, Pie of the Month for posting this
  8. Further to that we had the well publicised wage ceiling that season. That in itself wasn't necessarily wrong tho' crowing about it seemed daft. As in any job if the wages are poor you'll only stay put if you know that job is relatively secure. Paying lowest of wages on shortest of contracts was always going to cause problems.
  9. Doesn't explain why Craigan, Burns, Hardie and Archie were all out of contract. The Collins appointment was just a side issue. Had Lambie/the Board put them on even two year contracts at the start of their last season they would undoubtedly have been Jags players during the Collins/Britton/Whyte season.
  10. I imagine what Jackie is saying is that he sees Erskine best in a free/freer role than he had been playing a year ago. Similar to Harkins in that not much (if any) defensive duties will be required but different as Harkins played mainly down the flanks with his free role and Erskine is thought to be better or more effective thru the middle. I also believe that McNamara/Donnelly, as McCall before, predict considerable potential with the lad. The more last season progressed the more I think it looked that their prediction wasn't as ill founded as I thought earlier. I suppose then that the other players especially midfielders will have to have quite rigid positioning to compensate. In that respect you could say that the side is built round Erskine. In practice tho', even if he's less inconsistent, I think he'll be subbed as often for tactical reasons than due to his form. I get the impression that a player whose team is built around him is expected to play 90 mins every week. I can't see that happening with Erskine. If it was the case then I reluctantly have to agree with above post.
  11. I'm sure that's OK it's just your buns that are getting panned.
  12. Mark Campbell & Kevin Smith both ex Raith signed by Q o S.
  13. A Dear Green Place kiss just doesn't have the same ring to it.
  14. Good! Strictly speaking it's not a rumour more a piece of totally incorrect reporting by a newspaper. The Club/past manager have usually been quite quick to set the record straight with previous similar matters. Erskine is after all a contracted player and if that had been more widely reported (and believed) could have an effect on season ticket sales etc.
  15. Sorry, off topic I know but not worthy of a thread of its own but Rory McAllister signing for Peterhead on a two year deal at that is a rather strange one. I realise that the Blue Toon have got silly money to spend and the Rory fella wants to finish his plumbing exams or whatever but in doing so he's reportedly knocked back a few offers from SPL clubs. I wouldn't think for a guy in his mid twenties that a move to a third division club, where even if he ends up top scorer means little, could be described as putting your career on hold. I can only imagine that Peterhead then are paying him daft wages. A club that had the misfortune of having two seasons trailing Gretna should know better.
  16. HERE Got a feeling that the Jambo's website might be busy so here's a copy & paste .......
  17. I hope enough of us can make it along. Of all the players that have left us in recent years I think we missed Stephen the most. He should never have gone into that first SPL season on a single year contract. All water under the bridge but he could and should have been a Jags legend.
  18. Get a bit confused as I saw the Who a few times round then. I do remember queuing all night for tickets one of the times. Way behind us in the queue a shop window got smashed. Not sure if it was vandalism or just crowd pressure but it did get a bit hairy at times. No idea, Allan, which show it was.
  19. Hate when this comes up as I missed the game. If I remember rightly I saw the Who play in Glasgow midweek but then had to go down to London for the weekend.
  20. Agree, doesn't make much sense but I suppose there could be in something in his contract.
  21. No need to apologise. I thought they were in Yorkshire.
  22. Agree. Keep the thread on topic. Q..What has a hazelnut in every bite? A..Squirrel poo.
