  1. Consider yourself on a pun polis yellow card.
  2. Careful, you'll fall foul of the pun polis.
  3. As François Truffaut famously once said to Jean-Luc Godard "At least it's a damn sight better than watching 50 minutes of McConalogue"
  4. I wouldn't think so. They'll see themselves as in with a very good shout of winning the division and changing their pitch to plastic and back to grass again would be costly.
  5. I agree and said as much earlier. It would undoubtedly backfire. Apologies I misread your post. I thought you were saying Celtic held some moral high ground instead of a club steeped in sectarianism and continuing to profit nicely from that stance.
  6. So it's alright for Celtic to profit from sectarianism but wrong for another club to try to benefit from a stance on tolerance?
  7. Long journey or not I'd feel a certain unease if option A was either a regular or widespread occurrence.
  8. Fear not Mr Cliff also penned "Wild are the winds to meet you, Staunch are the friends that greet you" Clearly applying to Hamilton Accies and Livingston FC
  9. plenty of coverage elsewhere eg Here & Here
  10. Exactly how I feel as well. There's a lot of mileage to the Greater Glasgow Alternative slogan leaving it up to the punter to decide alternative to what? Even if the bigotry died overnight the slogan would still be effective.
  11. Slightly off topic but I'm glad the wee incident up at Dens preceded the Lennon thingy last night. A mixture of being topical and lazy journalism would ensure we'd be dragged into all this nonsense.
  12. If a manager isn't properly unveiled he'll have more difficulty swooping to sign players.
  13. Me too. Getting a bit worried about this optimism I've got.
  14. I think he left us for Alloa.
  15. I've met Milne on a few occasions and know him to be a good lad. Sadly his nicest quality is he's very easy going. I'm willing to admit that quality is best left off the field. I don't suppose his proneness to injury would have helped either. Could say this of a few players from Milne's Jags era that being nice and easy going playing under Whyte & Britton would have been significantly different from being nice and easy going under Lambie.
  16. I know there's rumours about Twaddle doing the rounds but if you put that to one side I think it'll be difficult getting a suitable replacement for Paddy. The very reason Boyle is likely to move on is there's always a shortage of decent left sided defenders, which in turn means replacing him more difficult. Factor in McNamara appears to favour a more fluid formation and we no doubt need a left back that's comfortable going forward. As said previously I don't believe a return for Kevin McKinlay, provided he can prove his fitness, would be a bad move.
  17. Perhaps Hodge signed a pre contract elsewhere before his injury. Can't see him attracting many offers since he's been injured.
  18. Echo above sentiments. I take it that Ian Cameron is still in place. No reason to doubt he isn't just it wasn't mentioned on official site.
  19. I remember bringing this up at a Jags Trust evening a season or so ago. I may have misheard but I'm fairly sure I was told choreographed dance on supporters buses was a health and safety issue. I do mind tho' there was a motion at a subsequent Trust meeting to co-opt Wayne Sleep but it was knocked back as it was felt at the time that Allan Heron's dance moves were more than adequate. Personally I think it's a great shame that apache dancing on the City Centre Branch bus stopped sometime back in the mid eighties. And maybe I'm just hopelessly nostalgic when I hark back to the days when Dixie Ingram and the White Heather Dancers used to entertain us on those long pre-motorway trips in the early sixties.
  20. Wasn't paying much attention to BBC Scotland news but I overheard that one MSP getting sworn in today was wearing Partick Thistle tartan. Not sure who this politician of sartorial elegance is tho' I think it might be Humza Yousaf. Anyone confirm?
  21. So how many times do we play Falkirk before September?
  22. For any of the younger posters on here the easiest way to describe Denis is to think of Erskine and multiple the good and the bad by three. I did in fact ask Denis around autumn 09 what he thought of the then current crop of players and he said he saw a lot of himself in Mr Erskine.
  23. You're not involved in sales and marketing by any chance?
