  1. uberteeb - your upset and frustrations are felt by all on this forum however your reaction seems a knee jerk one and way OTT in my opinion. I was gutted yesterday and also found myself saying 'seasons over' as i trudged away from Firhill. I also think we should have beaten QOS, they were awful 2 weeks ago and awful yesterday. However we would have toiled to beat anyone yesterday, given our impotence in the final third of the pitch. I also agree that Jackie got his tactics wrong, Flannigan in central mid with Cariney shunted to the left was baffling, as was the starting of Stewart, who i don't rate at all (we dont have anyone else to be fair). Doolan needs a decent foil up front and its shame he doesn't have one. At HT i actually thought we had played quite well without showing any cutting edge and thought we would see out a narrow win, but our lack of options going forward cost us again, not surprisingly. Also our inablity to make set peices count and to defend them propoerly is a real bone of contention and would make a big difference to our results if we could reverse the trend. We have no cash, so young inconsistent players with a hope of progressing, mixed with the odd veteran are about as good as we will get, unless things change. I was heartily gutted yesterday, but this morning whilst still gutted, i can put a bit of perspective on to things. Sacking Jackie? Not even a consideration at this stage for me. I see promise in him (as well as some obvious failings that he will hopefully overcome). We'd also struggle to get anyone else on the wages we pay him. A someone mentioned, it would be another punt on a young, untried ageing pro. Not sure that would serve us any better.
  2. so you agree with the other 20 comments then I liked twaddle, our best left back in some years but i prefer sinclair, a little bit more athletic, a little bit more talent, a little bit more likeable and i think will get us more money than the £60k we got for Twaddle, in due course. At this stage his end product is a bit behind Twaddles, but im sure (hopeful) that will improve soon.
  3. never meant it! i'm not the best with computers plus the ' preview post' bit seems to be missing since the change of site, so i cant check how it looks in advance either hungry and eager, i agree. to his credit he did also try a couple of decent passes which nearly came off, however i just dont think he is going to cut it for us. I dont really want to be on here dishing out specific criticism of a youth player, but would be happy to PM you if you're really all that interested!
  4. fox - despite a few early season flaps is as good as last season paton - vast improvement in new position, passing improved and real dig in his game now sinclair - gives more than boyle or twaddle ever did archie - slow but still as good defender as he always was and no worse than last season balatoni - has improved sine he arrived, will be missed (the bombscare returns!) odonnell - shaky few games of late but gives more than paton did at rb/wing back cairney - much improved since last season and best player to date this season rowson - hutton freeing him up has given him a new lease of life. fittest player in the league bannigan - has most potential of all our youths, needs to fill out a bit. doolan - in and out the team, needs a run to return as many goals as last season stewart - hit and miss, lacks strikers instinct, but whens the last time we has 2 real strikers? erskine - shadow of the player we know he can be robertson - hope he doesnt make it in to defence for balatoni, looks cumbersome at best dargo - past it and offered little to date, not the answer burns - no thanks kinniburgh - inconsistent, one dimensional and tendency to be very rash elliott - direct but much to learn flannigan - not kicked on at all from the potential showed early last season macbeth, lindsay, campbell etc - filling up jerseys for £ buttons £, wont improve us unfortunately summary - more players have improved then worsened from last season and any new players seem an improvement generally. overall a better hungrier team than last season, lead by a (better?) hungerier manager than last season
  5. Pure scunnered That was a blatant dive. I thought the wee cheat was going to get booked for the dying swan routine Dundee certainly never deserved the win. What are assistant referees for? Offsides and nothing else. Im really fed up with scottish football and might take a well earned sabatical from it for a year or two.
  6. we really do struggle in the cauldrons of central park, cappielow and the like. anyone any idea why?

    Game Off

im absolutely astonished a grass pitch wont be playable by 3pm, never mind an SPL one, with protective covers on and a groundsman paid to look after it. StJ obv dont need the money.
  8. with my mild hangover and missus approval i was actually looking forward to this one. looks like its shopping with the wife and wean now bassas!
  9. There are some total wallopers on this forum
  10. and i just assumed the arty groundsman left the club or got lazy! care to expand? i'm keen to hear what technicality on grass cutting he found to stop that wonderful sight. and why?
  11. "mark my words, a few years down the line teams will be playing with no striker" Our esteemed manager speaks out in the press this morning We'll be death of the sport or excluded (heading that way anyway by default) Anyone think it might be time for a rule change, MUST have a striker on the pitch or MUST always have a player in opposing half at any one time?
  12. These people only get out for the weekends i presume? I'm going to support the players on Tuesday but Levein can forget it. His post match interview comments were as disgusting as his tactics, and actually made me angrier than the crap on show. Demoralised. Great word use by that wee turd Nevin. I was totally gubbed by the end of the 90. Levein to then claim he was "happy" with the system and how effective it was whilst showing such contempt for the the rest of the nation was arrogant and self deluded. What a twat he is. If you've got any spare £££, stick it on Spain on Tuesday night or us not to qualify.
  13. how anyone can demand a manager be sacked for not playing Kenny Miller is beyond me, he's hardly pele so lets get real here. anyway, i'm sure he'll back chasing shadows and lost causes for the spain game so dont panic! in any case we will still have striker on the pitch, albeit one we've never heard of caldwell will sit deep with morrison and dorrans wide midfielders and fletcher and naismith in the centre, 4-1-4-1. however i suppose any of the 3 (exc fletcher) could play in any of the 3 available midfield positions. i think (more hope) we might just snatch a decent result
  14. are you honestly serious with that list?
  15. a sport thats miles ahead of football. honest, hard working, incredible fitness levels, massive crowds, beer, etc etc. a great final. i love my football but ive been turned off it so much over the last few years, its a millionaires playground these days, and pansy millionaires at that. characterless and devoid of the charm it once had. do yourself a favour a watch a few AFL games, it'll surprise you and make you realise that football players (especially at scottish 1st division level)are simply fat wasters!
  16. im worried that scotland are due a campaign where we actually finish in a position that reflects our ability, in the case of euro 2012, either bottom or second bottom. however for the moment i'll stick with the wild dillusion that we'll run spain close!
  17. liam couldnae finish his dinner right now, and if he scuffs one more shot past the post with the goal gaping i'll burst with frustration! hopefully he'll come good. anyway great win, excellent attitude and application by all. happy days
  18. What do you call one where the feeling wears off after less than 45 minutes in to the 1st game of the season
  19. for a guy getting pelters for a scrappy finish i think (certainly from that angle) it was more like an excellently well thought out and executed finish.
  20. looks like Brad alright, however the most inpressive thing is that pint of tennents, looks as tasty as i've ever seen!
