  1. That will probably depend on whether his appeal is successful. It is solely a matter for the criminal justice system rather than opportunist politicians who are seeking the easy headline. Bizarrely, Miliband is arguing that Evans should show remorse for a crime that he says he did not commit. No politician, especially the Leader of the Opposition, should comment on the Evans case whilst his appeal against the conviction is being considered.
  2. That's a problem that affects many English clubs too, especially those in the lower leagues. The big Premiership clubs, especially Man Utd and Liverpool, have supporters in towns and cities throughout England. It's similar to the Ugly Sisters problem that we have.
  3. Please translate "opperchancity".
  4. Bannigan is under contract for next season so it's yes in his case. The SPFL rules state "F3 - Compensation shall be payable to the former Club of a Player only where the Player concerned is Registered with his new Club at or before the end of the first Season in which the Player concerned reaches, will reach or shall have reached the age of 23." O'Donnell is 23 on 11th May so we would not get anything for him.
  5. And it allows the manager to concentrate on recruitment to strengthen the squad.
  6. Good point as Higginbotham and Welsh are also out of contract in May. Even if we are interested in Tidser, he could get better offers.
  7. Sky Sports reports that Michael Tidser has been paid off by Rotherham. IIRC we were linked with him before he signed for them.
  8. Is Osman still out? If so, I like ThickAsThieves' line-up, assuming that Frans is not fit to start. I'd also consider keeping McDaid in with Higginbotham on the bench.
  9. Currently, only eight first-team players under contract for next season are Scully, Lindsay, Frans, Seaborne, Bannigan, Fraser, Stevenson and Doolan. Jonathan Black is also signed up to May 2016. That is a good base for building next season's squad. I hope that the club has offered new deals to key out-of-contract players. Gallacher should be retained as a player/coach, especially with Scully returning.
  10. Not in my case. I hope that the matter can be resolved fairly and sensibly as soon as possible. Our squad is a bit thin at the moment and we need all our fit players to be available for selection.
  11. Hope it's not too early to ask for a trip to Ayr for a pre-season friendly in July.
  12. ^ Thanks for that update and your sensible analysis in the last paragraph. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
  13. The SNP's independence budgets were based on record oil prices of $110 per barrel. The current price would have wiped out all the Scottish Government's revenue - around £7 billion, equivalent to the education budget. With no reserves, no Central Bank and fixed exchange rates (through Sterlingisation), an independent Scotland would have required a bailout. It would have been outside the EU so where would the money come from? The UK that it had just left?
  14. The Mirror reported that Seaborne can play at left-back if necessary. "The 6ft 3in player had been tipped for the top due to his height and ability to adapt from centre back to left back."
  15. ^ Excellent points and we should not forget that McCall negotiated excellent deals, worth over £200k, for Harkins and Twaddle. He, with the aid of Bobby Dinnie's scouting, laid the foundations for McNamara and Archibald. There are a few Scot managing English clubs - e.g. Paul Lambert, Steve Clarke and Malky Mackay.
  16. Our youngsters seem to be doing fine and the Doolan/Stevenson partnership seems to be working well. I don't understand why we have only five subs. It would have been a good opportunity to give two more youngsters (e.g. Colina and Black) match day experience.
  17. The last laugh goes to Mark Kerr has signed for Falkirk with Muirhead.
  18. Hopefully, this means that Gallacher has another club lined up.
  19. Carroll's loan deal is supposed to expire in two weeks. Are we still paying for him?

    Bye Bye Ally

The money from New Oasis goes to Artemis and Miton, the seller of the the shares, not Sevco which remains in desperate need of cash. The proceeds of McLeod's sale will be spent immediately on this this month's wages but it's probably not enough to pay non-playing staff, including gardener Sally.
  21. ^ Falkirk's website says that the club is planning to bring in four players to push for promotion. Houston is rumoured to be interested in Muirhead. The Doonhamers could be another option. It would be great if Aaron could help either of them stuff Sevco.
  22. ^ Dale Keenan returned from Ayr in December so he must be in contention for a start.
  23. Epic fail! We are not into the transfer window as it opens on Saturday. Frans was the signing that I (and most) wanted. Richards-Everton returns in a couple of weeks. ETA - Mark Kerr has left QOS "by mutual consent".
