  1. Maybe if we build a 10,000 seat stand on the bing they will come.
  2. We've no played in red and yellow for yonks... give me the proper hoops... or stripes.... just so long as it's proper red 'n' yella...
  3. I left at 0-3, the first and only time I've left early. But I was absolutely miserable and I don't think the depression would have lifted even if I'd stayed. Everything was horribly rotten during that period of time.
  4. Honestly, anyone who makes death threats should be shot.
  5. I don't know about the television coverage but the radio coverage is disgustingly partisan, it's making me sick. There's not even an attempt to cover any event fairly; for example when whomever it was won a bronze medal in a swimming event (you can see I'm paying attention), the commentators actually said, "who cares who's winning, it's all about such and such..." So much for actually supporting sporting excellence. I'm actually laughing when GB do badly because the commentators sound like they are sucking lemons. I wish there was some form of Olympics-free zone to be left in peace in.
  6. They replaced Dundee. Of course! thanks.
  7. If the draw is regional why are the new Rangers not in the same section as us? I was hoping we'd get them at Firhill so we could get stuck into them...
  8. Don't know where else to put this, but absolutely raging at Green on the radio right now, claiming basically that everyone else in Scottish football are bigots for wanting to see the team that went bust get their just desserts. How dare he?!?
  9. He really didn't do himself any favours, did he? Perpetuating all the stereotypes.
  10. No. More than likely they still will have a team to support - something many others don't, and possibly won't, very soon.
  11. It would be interesting to compare the statistics concerning violence, domestic abuse, arrests for drunkenness, etc, etc in other cities with major footballing rivalries, such as Manchester, Newcastle, even Edinburgh I suppose. I don't know if it the same but the general feeling of animosity which falls upon this city is palpable, and I am glad on those Old Firm days I don't have to leave the house. That's not something you can experience I guess unless you live in one of those cities for a while to know the difference. Seeing as I 'm moving to Dundee soon I guess I'll find out next season what the place is like during a derby day.
  12. Let them play each other once a month and call it the 'Manifest Destiny Cup', or something. Although, if they could play outside Glasgow, somewhere remote, so the city isn't sullied with all their garbage. Hey! Isn't that great? Glasgow wont have to put up with all the sickening bile and horrible clouds of hate that traditionally descend every Old Firm weekend for years now! Makes me wish I wasn't about to leave!
  13. That's the thing isn't it - if we win, then they will come.... easier said than done of course!
  14. Doubtless everyone has had a variation of "haha, what do you support them fir? They're pish" line thrown at them at one time or another. The vast majority of people who supported Rangers only did so because they won everything. Unfortunately we're still Partick Thistle, the great unpredictables, winning one week and totally humped the next. It'd be nice to get some new converts but a lot of people will drift away for the years it takes to get Sevco back to playing the other arse cheek again.
  15. Unfortunately of course, we all know that's about 2000 Hamilton fans and 310,000 Old Firm zombies. Hopefully that may change now!
  16. As I wrote before, I couldn't really give a toss about which way other teams voted, I don't support any other team. The Daily Record has either printed the truth which contradicts the diffuse statements our club has made, or they have printed a lie about the decision the directors of our club made. Never mind all this 'sources say' bollocks. If our board had released a less vague statement to begin with this wouldn't be necessary. They didn't so clarification is needed, if only to correct rubbish printed in a national newspaper read by hundreds of thousands - a good many who may boycott our club because of it.
  17. 77% of UK households have access to the internet. 83.5% of the UK population use the internet (according to the office of national statistics). I would hope Thistle fans aren't particularly Luddite in their behaviour, so I should think you are probably mistaken on both counts Regardless. The club can very easily put out a statement that the Sunday newspapers can publish tomorrow. Simple pimple.
  18. Of course all these rumours and suppositions were so obviously inevitable from the moment it was decided to have a secret ballot. How utterly foolish that was in the first place.
  19. Personally I'm not thinking the worst. I'm confused. My e-mails to the club were given no reply. Perhaps other people got e-mails but I didn't. The statements released by the club on the other hand have been vague. I don't really care about other clubs' stated intentions, I only care about Thistles. I don't think we should all have to phone up the club individually to get a concrete answer. Not when there's this internet thing these days. A straight answer is a very little thing.
  20. Of course the Record is a complete rag not worth wiping your backside with, but I just want a firm answer instead of this confusion, obfuscation and bewilderment. Any decisions made by any fan can only be made with full possession of the facts.
  21. The club HAVE to understand just how important it is to come out immediately and tell us which way they voted. That purposefully vague statement yesterday is no where near enough. **** I did not want to open up this forum this morning and see a thread like this.
  22. That's great. Radio 5live feel the news conference is important enough to present live. BBC Radio Scotland - Let's keep the golf on.
  23. It seems we could be waiting for some time for any news. It could go on late into the night, apparently. They've probably locked the doors and wont let anyone out until the vote goes their way.
  24. Craig-W

    I'm Off!

Can I ask what you mean? Are you talking about the SPL or just leagues in general?
  25. Thanks for posting Spam Valley Jag. So much sense written there it seems ridiculous that any club representative could disagree with it. And they would have to have pretty spectacular reasons if they did vote yes to any of the proposals. For the love of logic and reason - you have to vote no, Partick Thistle.
