  1. Poor game. We were the better team but saying that Mannus didnt have much to do. Thougt Bannigan and big abdul were great first half, died out a wee bit in 2nd half. Big frederic looks solid as a rock and smart footballer too.
  2. any of you guys at the wembley match? was my first ever game, was great to see it in the flesh, although sadly as a raiders fan it was a bit humiliating. dennis allen fired the next day, was only a matter of time i suppose. how u all enjoyin the season so far?
  3. Motherwell were shocking, I only saw them once last season, the early season game, I wasnt at the game they scudded us 5-1 or the 4-3 game at Fir Park, but I expected a bit more from them. I prefer to give that credit to us though for stopping them. They've got some nice footballers, I think Ojamma could be one of the quickest players in the league, few moments of tidy play, but we totally nulified them for 95% of the game. Is McMillan a better left back than he is right back!? He's too good in that position to be considered just a stop gap, he's solid as a rock and rarely makes a mistake. Defence is 1000% better with Seabourne.
  4. Thought we were great today, in control for most of game, not a single failure. My motm woulda been o'donnell, but could honestly been anyone from 1-11. Best game ive seen i a while from lawless, craigen, elliot. Huge credit to archie and shaggy and the boys, a jags team minus higgy and fraser is significantly weaker, to beat motherwell 3-1 with some to spare is a great result, well done lads and thank you for making my weekend.
  5. Im sceptical as to the importance of a captain in football, but if ours is to be anyone surely it's higgy? If the team followed his effort/commitment/work rate and they had his passion we'd be a better team
  6. Scunnered with that yet again. Awful game, two first division standard teams, embarrassed to think it was broadcast on tv. Im not surprised at all, it's in thistle's dna to be the soft touch. In need of a win after a horrendous start to the season, there is only one team u want to be playing. Totally fcuked off with it. Halfway through september, and already hamilton and st mirren have come from behind to beat us at firhill. Unacceptable. Not 1 player given pass marks for me last night. Squad is weaker than last season, we have not strengthened at all. Stevenson continues to disappoint. Just a complete let down man. Long season ahead, cant see anything other than 10-12th finish. Need another centre half to partner seabourne (why was he not playing again?). Need some options off the bench too as there's nothing there that can change a game.
  7. What the highligts do not show u, and what i think i saw fron the northy, was that a caley defender stuck a leg out and put the slightest deflection on the ball before it got to brill. I couldve imagined that though!
  8. Couldn't agree more. So much natural talent, heart of a lion. Just a pleasure to watch. If we stay up next year we've got to pull out all the stops. Just fookin give him the 2 gates from the rangers matches! (If they come up of course!) he really is that important to us.
  9. Have absolutely no idea what you are talking about man Are u suggesting because we had a player who's nickname was ozzy last year we are therefore not allowed another? This some page in the wee red book i missed or somethin? Still waiting on your thoughts on the game...?
  10. No pal i was at the game, which is why funnily enough im posting in the just in thread my thoughts about the game.care to do the same instead of your waste of time comments?
  11. Delighted with the result as i feel ict were the better team for a long period of that game. Fox didnt have much to do but in terms of possession and the amount of time spent in our half, i thought they were better than us. Yogi has them playing like how i remember swansea played under brendan rogers, keeper thinks he's pirlo, spraying the ball all over the shop, playing 1-2's with the defenders, which when it comes off im sure will lead to the odd nicely worked goal (like todays) but they lose possession in some dangerous areas and its a high risk high reward tactic. Dunno why foxy started, gallacher is the better more consistent keeper, i take it gall has went to archie and said he's chucking end of the season so fox needs to games this year? Mcmillan played well enough, balatoni was ok, big seaborne was solid as a rock, always talking and organising, i'd give him the armband ahead of stevenson. It's already been said about carroll, looked decent enough in phases, but inside/outside him, he was vulnerable. Hopefully he can sharpen up and get some more positional awareness/discipline but i do see potential there. Ossy and bannigan played well, big ozzy is solid as a rock. Stevenson, rubbish, not showing the form that made me excited we'd signed him. Improved a bit in the 2nd half to be fair to him, but still waiting in the real stevo to turn up. Lawless - took his goal lovely, and set up higgy well. Still far too easily dispossessed if you're asking me, in the box, he's a threat, his best work is done in the box finishing off moves or laying them on for others, but give him the ball on the half way line and you're normally looking at the move breaking down, Higgy - i love higgy, been going since 92, and hes working his way into my all time favourites, i just love the guy. Dools, didnt do much, woeful pen, but normally dools is reliable for us so he's allowed a mistake now and again. Overall much needed win to give us a bit of daylight between county m st mirren, a win on friday night now would be fookin great!
  12. Too early to pay out on Seattle for Superbowl again!?
  13. Season starts tonight with a fantastic superbowl calibre of game, think it'll be close but can't go against Seattle at home. Anyone going to London for any of the games, I'm going to see the Raiders game, first time in Raiders history that a rookie QB starts week 1, hope Derek Carr turns out well! What's your thoughts for the season ahead NFL fans?
  14. Gall did get a good hand on it, however had it not been for him we would have lost in dundee and been beaten by hamilton more comfortably, keepers the least of our concerns at the minute
  15. Was a great pass, but in fairness to stevenson (although i thought he was crap on sat) dools missed a few of those chances last season too. Worst one was at home to hibs if i remember rightly. But in the interests of positivity, i honestly think we've got our worst performance of the season out the way. Not to say we'll not get beaten by a bigger margin, but i just think we'll play better in every game left this season.
  16. Total and utter sh1te. Not at all the races all day. Defence shakey as fcuk, midfield anonymous, fraser it appears is either fantastic or crap, he was the latter today, set pieces cleared at front post every single time. And do not get me started on lawless or stevenson. So ineffectual and toothless, elliot and doolan must come into the team on that basis. We are short of at least 2 may even 3 quality starters , i have faith archie will get us some decent bodies in, we need them fast cos that bench today didnt make for encouraging reading. The substitution of bannigan worries me. Yes i am aware he got hooked later on, but im getting the impression stevenson will be accomadated no matter what. Moving the slowest and most pedestrian player in our team back into central midfield in favour of our most energetic player is totally baffling. Majorly p1ssed off. Just no stones on this team so sit n steal a win we dont deserve. So predictable
  17. Great goal on a pretty off day for higgy he still pulls a moment of magic out the hat to give us some temporary happiness
  18. I agree regarding the midfielder, our starting 3 of bannigan fraser and osman, yeh thats fine to start, but one of them gets injured we don't really have anyone to come in do we? Craigans a nice wee player but I think we could do better as a back up. As Lindau said, in Archie we trust, but I personally would've been happy to gamble on Ozzy again, not a bad standard of back up, if (and thats a big if) we keep him fit. You can't have too many good central midfielders, wouldn't mind a wee stockpile of 4 quality central mids.
  19. Never a pen, never a sending off, cant wait to get that mob back to firhill.
  20. Osman looks solid. Sod continued his good form. Think we let them off the hook after we scored, just took foot off the gas. Dundee look bang average and we could have won had bannigan scored one of his 2 great chances but we kost our tempo and never recovered it.
  21. Nah can't see it, Stevenson starts every week if he's fit if you're asking me. Archie made him captain on his debut, only time Stevo's not in team is if he's crocked or suspended if u ask me.
  22. McMillan was excellent last night, I don't know how I feel about starting a season with a right footed left back though, with the width we like to play with and the way Higgy cuts in from the left, it'd be great to have a naturally left footed player on the overlap to cross it in, instead of sticking it out to McMillan who'd have to cut on to his right foot. But I do see where you're coming from as he was tremendous last night both defensively and going forward.
  23. That was outstanding. Fraser sublime, osman great, sod mcmillan stevo all great too. Big seabourne setlled in well. Lawless looks back to his best. Absolute magic
  24. Fookin genius! Guttin myself at that
  25. In my opinion has to be Gallacher, he's the better keeper.
