  1. yeah absolutely gutted super dan is at st mirren would love him to be our manager. Again, doubt he'd leave his current position or indeed be interested, but big Stevie Craigan will make a good manager one day I'm sure.
  2. I was exactly the same. Going to game, McCall away and I was dithering. Now really can't wait. It's still Thistle regardless of who the manager is.
  3. Can't understand the fans who wouldn't take McPherson-the same McPherson who got St Mirren up, kept them up, then got them to a cup final last year. I would take him in a minute. Don't think we could afford him though. Can see McNamara getting it if he wants it. If not, Cammy done well with U-19's last season, again, cheap option on a rookie, but a former jags hero and crackin player for us, think he's worth a mention. John Hughes - too expensive. Don't know if we could afford to pay compo, doubt it, so it won't be someone who's with a club presently. Sheerin's done well at Arbroath, knows this level well, would be interested in interviewing him if i were on the board.
  4. I am disappointed to lose McCall, think he's done well, bit of stability, good young team I feel optimistic about. Frustrating at times too though, would agree with the 6.5-7 area.
  5. no it's a straight flight glasgow to cape verde, thomsons fly out on a sunday.
  6. Yeh package deal, flying from Glasgow. You been?
  7. booked up for june looks a nice chilled out place, anyone ever been?
  8. my brother sent me a picture message of a banner at the falkirk end saying "no more brown suede shoes" genius!
  9. I was at the game, booed for play acting and hitting the deck anytime brown went near him, nothing else. so the wee runt can **** off
  10. Shocking performance. Why he played 5 at back against a team who play 1 up front i'll never know. Robertson had a nightmare at goal, let it bounce when if should have attacked it. 4 out of 12 against that mob is a near sacking offence if you ask me.
  11. anyone else go tonight? cringe worthy stuff typical glaswegian ****** fannies ruining it, gettin steamin throwing coins at people just the usual "im on the piss can do what i want" attitude. i hate this city sometimes truly ashamed to be from here sometimes. hope they dont bring it back to glasgow cos they cant behave themselves.
  12. played ok, was a decent enough 0-0 draw, some good chances, Doolan missed a sitter, great chance for Paton at the end too. Rowser, Archie and Robbo our best players, Grehan played alright holding it up etc, but needs to offer more of a threat. Doolan and Erskine a bit frustrating. Should win during the week if we keep things tight at the back and offer more of a threat. Dundee were pish how the hell they are on this amazing run they are stinking. edited to add pitch an absolute disgrace, kinda goes without saying i know but it was terrible.
  13. is it just me being nostalgic or was that not a cracking team. when i think about a midfield consisting of craig taylor charnley mcwilliams etc. fozzie roddy up front. early to mid 90s we were excellent our team then would annihilate most SPL teams now!!
  14. my favourite game of all time, great experience.
  15. did he not shirk a few tackles? makes him a bit of a ***** in my book. edited as i didnt know p ussy would be blanked out, such an innocent word!
  16. this is something i had noticed too, there doesn't seem to be anywhere on the website regarding youth team fixtures.
  17. man u were crap but it's a lose-lose situation for them they're through and that's the only thing that matters. The manager of Crawley get's on my nerves. they've signed someone for £300,000 recently Crawley probably pay more in wages than most league 2 sides if not league 1, so not as much a fairytale if a really skint team had got the tie.
  18. amatuer hour once again at firhill. Just shown up at firhill to be turned away. Livid
  19. Can't wait for Saturday, although I am dubious as to whether we've got enough up front to cause them problems. Back to middle I have no concerns, don't think St Johnstone are THAT much better than us, but we've nothing to threaten them with up front with Doolan on his own. Really need to get Erskine involved and close to Doolan, if he becomes isolated we are screwed.
  20. Would like to see Erskine start out wide left but he's good up front as well running directly at the centre backs. Wouldn't mind seeing Fraser start up front though he looks good in the glimpses I've seen. Doubt McCall will do that though.
  21. Not really bothered by this, his last 2-3 games have been an improvement, and yes maybe his injuries can be blamed to a certain extent for his woeful form the past 2 seasons, I just put it down to him being a very average first division striker. Would have been happy to hold on to him because he's a hard worker and looks in the past couple of games to be forming a decent partnership with Doolan, but the main reason I'm disappointed is I'm worried this means a return to the first team for Simon "Lets slow the move down" "let's drop deeper than my own centre half to get the ball" Donnelly. I like Sid but our last 2 performances should prove to McCall we're better when playing direct football with pace up front. What's the deal with Keiran Burns? Get him in the team and give him a run out. Buchanan was a decent enough wee player, but for me will be remembered more for the missed chances and inability to cleanly strike a ball when presented with a great chance. We'll have better strikers in the future of that there is no doubt.
  22. Excellent performance, not a failure in the team. Scott Fox was excellent, as was Paton Archie Cairney Rowser Erskine. Played them off the park first half, 2nd they had all the ball but didn't threaten much. Should have ended it on the break a few times, but infuriatingly chose the wrong ball, Buchanan and Erskine guilty of this. But Erskine was excellent, so much potential if he stays consistent and keeps working. His fitness is improving every week he's usually subbed after an hour when he starts, but he's lasting games and still having a good burst near the end. Can't wait for McDiarmid!!!
  23. Didn't hear mention of attendance today, no mention on website or bbc, anyone know what it was?
  24. Can't wait until Pressley sees the nick of Firhill!! Yeah it could be the start, considering MacBeth and Burns are still to get a run out, who both have impressed in cameos, so hopefully this will be the start of a new dawn for us. Still a young team otherwise too, with Cairney Paton Boyle Doolan Buchanan Erskine Fox all early - mid 20's.
