I don't think Craigen's mediocre. He has talent and he works hard. His flexibility, willingness and refusal to hide are assets but ironically they're also attributes which make him a focus of criticism. The new signings yesterday will hopefully take a but of pressure off him (I do think his form has dipped) but I don't see him dropping out of the first team picture.

No, I would completely agree with that. Conrad's been pretty solid the last few games and I'd be sticking with him. I've always probably preferred Muirhead as a player to be honest, but they did need someone with more experience to help them out in this league and I'm hopeful that Balatoni, Muirhead and Gabriel will all benefit from having an experienced defender in the squad.

Would be interesting to know what we're spending here. We always talk about Thistle having a considerably lower budget, but these look like Premiership signings. All very exciting, but are we keeping within our structure?

I think it's tricky for Archie. Has now brought in six potential first team players in the window, and has McMillan and Gallagher slotting in in recent weeks. For all that we needed some freshening and strengthening I also think that we need a bit of continuity, we have a definite way of playing and performances have been pretty decent. Balancing the two won't be that easy.

When does the window close? No word yet on Aaron TS?

I think Archie's done well. On paper, purely based on results, his record is pretty decent. He took us on a great run to win the league and his return in the Premier is probably on a par with expectations. Most people are agreed that we've been a bit unfortunate results wise, we maybe deserve more, and I see that as grounds for optimism. But more to the point, and my issue with the whingers, is that as fans we can do nothing, but we can support the manager and the team. Regardless of personal opinions, which are obviously subjective, abusing players and writing off the manager can have no positive benefit, whereas getting right behind them, showing that we are proud of what they have achieved in the last year, and being positive about what can be achieved in the months to come, could really make a difference. I have no doubt that the fans contributed to last season's success, the players said it constantly, and we can do that again.

I hope it has been a place where people have felt able to vent their fury without fear of persecution. An oasis of pish, if you will. I'm slightly surprised that some of those that we have reached out to, those most in need, have not taken the opportunity, but I understand why it is difficult and we should not give up on them.

He should have got rid of all of them. Even the players themselves know that they're not good enough for this level; they should be destroying teams like St Mirren and Hibs who are clearly crap! And three defeats in nine games is unacceptable from a team that I didn't expect to get any more points this season. Bring in Archie Knox to offer advice. Surely the manager wouldn't object to working with his own Dad!

The defeat against meadowbank at Firhill, the week before we won promotion vs Forfar, was about the most eerie atmosphere I can remember at a game. That was horrible.
