  1. ...........exactly what PGS said!
  2. ............will 'club colours' be permitted in the BM on sunday?
  3. Anybody know if we have paid the income tax bill we 'defered' last year.. my opinion is that we defered it to keep the debt low enough to keep the bank manager happy until we got the Propco cash. I think some people on this forum do not realise just how close to the wind this club is being run.
  4. Be careful what you wish for! I think if the planning application is refused (which it may well be) the bank manager will be calling the directors in for a wee chat!
  5. em, sorry, I think it was posted elsewhere but I cant find the info, but when is the Propco planning being considered by the Council?
  6. I think that 2 questions should be given to the Jags Trust for the following reasons; They are 'privy' to insider information at board level that for reasons of 'confidentuality' they are not permitted to tell their members (you and me)..but they could ask Cowan a couple of 'probing questions' and let him tell us. It will let the the fans see if they have the ****s to take him on in public. And the board should not offer more than 2 questions so they cannot 'select' the ones easiest to answer.
  7. Idiot response, if you think you can do better, do it and stop moaning about others trying to do what they think is best.
  8. we stopped going there about 2 years ago, customer satisfaction nil, now frequent the S&G, friendlier and you can stay until 2.50 and still be in your seat by 3.00. do they still kick you out at 2.28?
  9. Lets not bother, it's my view that if you raised £50K per year for this lot they would simply reduce their contribution to the wage bill by about, well, £50K. better raising a fighting fund to buy the club in 10 years time when it goes bust and we have nothing left to sell.
  10. RUBBISH, the return period for 'sustainable' energy is about 20 years, thats if the equipment does not need any maintainance and still works as efficiently as it does day one (solar panels will be lucky to last 20 years). Also it can cost a six figure sum to get a licence to generate to the national grid. Unless you are getting mega grants, wind and solar does not pay for the installation costs.
  11. The Jags Trust – time for a change? I have been thinking a lot recently about PTFC and the Jags Trust and think the people running the Trust (since its inception) have had a difficult time whilst trying to assist the football team they love. Far too many have come in, tried to move things on, and left in despair. This needs to be addressed and whatever the underlying problems are they need to be sorted before we have run out of willing bodies to represent the fans (no, honestly, read on) Here are my suggestions to take things forward. 1. Tell the BoD that the Trust will continue fund raising on behalf of the Club but that all the funds will stay in the Trusts bank account until the outstanding issues are resolved, in particular the position of the Trust rep on the Club board. 2. Change the name of the Trust to ‘Partick Thistle Supporters Association’ … as it is called in the constitution anyway. 3. Poll the fans (not just over the internet because that misses too many people) and change the Trust constitution (timescale for this would be months as we need to get this right). 4. Make the number one objective on the constitution; ‘To assist the club in ensuring the long term existence of PTFC’. 5. Reassess all the other constitution objectives. I believe there is far too much emphasis on being the clubs donkey for community work (important as it is) and not focusing on the one important matter of ‘representing the fans’ at board level. 6. There needs to be a mechanism for the ‘Trust’ to gauge the opinion of the fans on a regular basis, I’m not sure what this is because I think the internet only reaches a (large) minority of the members. 7. The Trust should try to arrange a meeting with all the former Trust members to have a ‘lessons learned’ session. The objective of this meeting is to find out why these formerly committed people left their positions on the Trust and what needs to be done to ensure that we do not continuously loose willing and capable servants. I personally have a difficulty with the Trust, I have been unable to bring myself to give to the fund raising ventures since the Propco deal came to light. I feel that I would not be assisting the long term (beyond 10 years) survival of PTFC and will not fund this badly timed deal that, in my opinion, was a last minute panic move to save the club from administration this year. I really hope the deal works out in the long term, but the business risks are real and all lie eventually with the club. (and not the Proco) I did join the Trust as a member for the first time last year and will extend it this year because there is no other vehicle for the fans to be represented. The time has now come to raise the stakes with the BoD and stand up and be counted, otherwise there will be no Partick Thistle to celebrate the Centenary of our Scottish Cup triumph. For the future of our team, Douglas Rimmer. (JJ84)
  12. The Trust should, in my opinion, 'suggest' to the BoD that they will continue to fund raise on behalf of the club but that the cash will all be staying in the Trust's bank account until the various outstanding issues are resolved. end of.
  13. Is there a 'plan B' if the planning application is refused? or will the bank suddenly get interested again?
  14. Chairman has advised the Trust board that the Club needs to “consider how best to represent [the fan’s] views. Ideally this includes the Jagstrust…”. The Club Chairman would also like to see the Trust “broaden its appeal and concentrate on activity which directly benefits the club in a tangible way”. The BOD have a ferkin cheek with comments like these, the reason the JT cannot 'represent all the fans, and broaden its appeal' is BECAUSE of the close links with the BOD and the 'confidentiality' agreement. The BOD have really lost the plot entierly on this one, the main reason for not participating in the JT is because it is now seen (by some) as a puppet arm of the BOD. BTW many many thanks to Keiron for his contribution to the club, much appreciated.
  15. BECAUSE of it's amateur status QPFC will outlast PTFC no doubt
  16. we are not altogether a bad team, just completely utterly useless unimaginative and ineffectual in the last 1/3rd and every other team now knows it.
  17. seemimgly after saying all I need to say on the topic and topic description that I also need to enter a post....so.... anybody goin by train?
  18. Are Ladbrooks giving odds for the club to have done their homework this time round?
  19. .....that just about sums us up!
