  1. I'm left handed so the moon must be made of cheese
  2. I remember back in the '70's we had a great programme and the centre section was like a weekly mag (mostly English stuff). If the new setup was like our own programme with a general section devoted to the league in general it might work.

As a matter of interest how many of these games are you likely to attend? and please none of the 'real supporter' rubbish. I'm just trying to gauge the affect of the '7 games a season' syndrome.

.......I'd better not mention Julie Andrews!
  5. Well done to all at the club if they are getting more income from the stadium.
  6. That's some location you've got there!, I hope you guys (and gals) have a good and 'peaceful' Christmas especially if you are not getting home! Do you know of any other Jags fans out there?
  7. I'm not from anybody's mould. I am here to make up my own mind about things, and my comment was not meant as a 'shot' (ok a little one) but a genuine offer to anybody to come and talk to me when you see me about. Please do. I will not be about before the Morton game but will make an effort to be at the TJ stall for the remaining home games for my stint on the JT. (sorry son yer in the Star and Garter by yersel')
  8. we went behind the goal on saturday, what a great atmosphere created by about 20 or so guys, Many thanks to the team who had been at the cricket club, the rendition of 'Delilah' at half time was just pure class! I'm still pissing myself when I think about it. To stand and watch football with a wee singsong and a Thistle win.....a perfect saturday.
  9. can somebody please tell me (due to my ignorance) do Catholics not join up? no really I would like to know.
  10. 3 (three) wow! now that's impressive! I think you are missing the point, you have got guys who are questioning their faith to the cause who have been following the Thistle for 40 years! just counted back....maybe 45 years
  11. em no. the 71 change strip was red with yellow collars and cuffs (both matching Mr Bond) '70 was a different strip every time we went on the park if I remember. we won the league in white 'T' shirts black shorts!
  12. The prize MUST be handed out in cash at the final whistle, especially if we are 'hitting' pubs, the punters will expect the winnings to be presented in the pub where you collect the cash.
  13. also..'most inactive period of the Trust's existence'.....so Keiron was doing naff all as well!
  14. maybe somebody could put a link on here to the post by 'Honest Joe' (joined P&B yesterday and this is his first post) I would really like to know who this guy is and ESPECIALLY if he is a current JT board member. Doug JJ84
  15. David I await with interest what you may propose as a 'productive way' to support the club. All the best Doug.
  16. I for one was very dissapointed last night reading this thread. My initial reaction was to resign from the JT and send my card back to them, this will still happen unless the JT come out with some very strong ideas for the way forward now. If it's 'more of the same' them the card gets returned and the JT will not get another penny from me. My sincere thanks to the departing 3, maybe my hopes were just raised too high by the open meeting.
  17. So we played another part time team yesterday. Were we; 1. Fitter - NO 2. Faster - Em well actually we were totally outpaced all over the park. 3. Stronger - NO (Hardie exception) 4. More skillful - NO 5. Better prepared - NO - do we ever look like we have ever rehearsed a set piece? 6. A better 'team' - no the Binos looked like a team against 11 'players' 7. hungry for the fight - BIG NO (only Hardie got pass marks there) to be honest his introduction for 2 games has highlighted a major failing with the rest of the entire team. so, what do we actually do as 'full time' professional footballers? can somebody tell me day by day just exactly how many hours they train and what they actually do with the time? also who takes the 'training or coaching' (if they know the difference) can somebody compile a diary of the players activities during an average week? it would make interesting reading for me (who has coached amateur athletes to international standard) WE ARE THE WORST FULL TIME TEAM IN THE COUNTRY. So Ian, two and a half years into the 5 year plan, what do you intend to do to rectify the situation? We have had all the excuses, then we got the 'it's my problem and I will deal with it' so what next Ian? what's the plan? Post Note, Some of the best Thistle teams over the years have been a mixture of full time and part time players, and the time is right to re-establish that mix, are the current crop really worthy of a full time wage? on 22nd of October 1971; Jimmy Bone was working down a mine Frank Coulston was a PE teacher Let's get real and start to pay players what they are worth.
  18. Fact No 1. The credit crunch hit the housing market about 15 months before the Propco (asset stripping) deal was put in place
  19. Thanks for the info guys but plan is now to meet at the halfway (far end of Springkerse Estate)
  20. Anybody know if the Cricket Club is doing soup and beer pre-match on saturday? I have never been but am sure this has happened before.
  21. Totally disagree. it is the Trust's Rep, selected or elected by the JT, The Club's BoD should not have the final veto. also the position is 'JT Rep' on the board, nothing more.
  22. Agree......but he's off my Christmas card list for the comments he has come away with as a 'pundit' Also, so Pressley didn't like the way we played? stuff him, all that happened was that we played the same way every team that has come to Firhill in the past two years has played, starting with Ross County's glorious 0-0! 6 points from the next 2 games is on, all of a sudden I'm looking forward to saturday!
