  1. We are seeded so please can we get an exciting away trip!
  2. We finished 6th and got £3,750. Queens Park's small band of fans must drink some amount of Bru http://www.scottishfootballleague.com/news/article/irn-bru-sfl-end-of-season-awards-dinner-201011/ Great website the SFL have got
  3. At the start of this season, I knew that we had less money and resources than other teams and I expected a tough year. My target was to finish 6th or 7th and see a few young players emerge. At 3.45 on 7th August 2010, I thought that objective was well and truly blown. Shocking defeats at Cowdenbeath and Stirling didn't help dispel my negative thoughts. But here we are in May 2011 with a 5th placed finished and 5 of our youth team on the pitch at the final whistle, coupled with another unused YOUNG sub on the bench. We also have the division's top scorer, the division's best keeper and some good players signed up for next year. Perhaps most importantly, we have taken many of our cost cutting measures this season and have started developing our own young team. Dundee, QoS, Falkirk etc will all have that reality to adapt to next season. A job well done I say - WELL DONE JAGS!

  5. Big tough lad and all that but I genuinely had tears in both eyes today when Rowser skelped that shot into the top corner - no one could have scripted that! Rowser is turning into a real legend and has been a great player again this season. All the best getting through this hard time David and hope to see you in the red and yellow next year!
  6. QoS are going down the tubes in every resepect
  7. Here here, I've been calling for a British League Cup for years in place of the two independent league vups, but I understand the scepticism as I can't see it happening.
  8. Also well done to the Raith fans - four separate folk said to me on the way back "Well done, you guys played well and fully deserved to win, good luck for the rest of the season". Good to see their fans being so gracious when we have just dealt their title hopes a blow. Good luck to them!
  9. What a fantastic performance that was today - solid from back to front and battled for everything. Could have been a rout, with Fox only having one save to make, albeit a very good save. Some of the football we played in difficult conditions was also impressive. Doolan is an excellent forward with great movement, touch, finishing, and vision. Erskine had one of his good games today, Grehan done a lot of work, and both Paddy and Paton were up and down the line constantly. We need all Thistle fans (certainly those that can afford the cost of football at least) to start getting back out to the games. I don't buy this stuff that the team is boring, not playing well etc etc. We had a terrible start to the season but have lost only one game since November, and even that was to a dodgy pen. We are playing some nice stuff and the players are working for the cause. A happy Saturday!
  10. Think I was at a different game from you mate, how we never won that I will never know. The Cowdenbeath penalty actually hit the hand of the Cowden player. The ref didn't just give it, he spent five minutes chatting to the linesman about it and then booked Rowson for dissent. We have had two of Scotland's worst three refs in our last two matches (Somers being the other). Cowden were time watsing something awful and he wasn't interetsed. Agree the distribution from the back was awful but we had so many chances. Three cleared off the line, one of the top of the bar, Donnelly's chip just past the post, two sitters missed, a free header straight at the keeper and numerous last ditch tackles. In many respects, it was like last time all over - all Jags but struggled to score. That said, had it not been for a brilliant save by Fox at 1-0, it could have been all over for us. Thought we done ok on a heavy pitch and with a bug sweeping through the camp, but...and I can't believe I'm saying this...we looked ropey at the back without big Willie. McGowan done ok on the right hand side and has a brilliant long throw. I can't understand why some folk are not convinced by Flannigan. He is one of the few football players we have - always looks for a pass, can beat a man, and can shoot. A long unbeaten run in the league - need to continue it on Saturday now. But I can't help get away from the feeling we should be 4 points better off after Saturday and tonight.
  11. Of more recent ilk - Tuffey and Craigan. Also, McNamara and Sid, even though they haven't played for Scotland whilst at Thistle. Quite a few others like the famous Quinton Jacobs...
  12. Wednesday according to their website
  13. Former loan signing McHugh http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2011/01/21/mchugh%e2%80%99s-thistle-move-cancelled/
  14. Haha sorry, meant to say Grehan - was in a hurry
  15. Were you that drunk after the game last night I was sitting next to a Falkirk fan in the JH Stand. I missed the incident early on but he said Millar kicked our player and should have been given a straight red.
  16. Kenny Deuchar has been released by Falkirk and is expected to sign for a Div 2 club today. Surely he would have been a better option than Deuchar and he would only be paid part time wages as well.
  17. What no one has mentioned about their penalty appeal is that we should have had a free kick on the run up to that move - bit of a two footed lunge from the Falkirk player
  18. Sean Fraser - first touch as a professional player was a top notch cross like into Doolan's path, well done Shauna dn ell done to McCall for having the faith to throw him on when chasing a cup tie with 5 minutes left
  19. Equally agree that we had to move Bryn on but I think Jags fans should acknowledge: 1)His willingness to wait for a move to Firhill (although he may not have had an alternative) 2) His passion - he was one of the more 'up for it' players in the first quarter of the season - eg his celebration when Paddy bagged the winner against Dundee. Sorry it didn't work out and all the best Bryn
  20. Absolutely delighted with the performance last night and I think McCall deserves quite a bit of praise. We set out with one objective last night and acheived it, we might even have nicked the game. I think we are starting to see the benefits of bringing in the 'old crocks' - Kinniburgh and Balatoni were superb last night and you can bet your bottom dollar that Jackie Mac was talking them through the whole match. If we had had a better first quarter, we would be in with the chance of a promo push with a good second half to the season.
  21. Chris Hughton was exactly what Newcastle needed - a sensible, hard-working, and dignified man who does not deserve what has come to him. Newcastle were in disarray when he took over and could easily have done a Leeds. He steadied the ship, ditched the egos, built a solid side and ran away with a league that has been a graveyard for former premiership teams in recent years. He takes them to mid-table in the Premiership, beats the local rivals 5-1, beats Arsenal...and gets sacked for his efforts. Feckin disgraceful - hope they get Shearer, they go down and Ashley makes a colossal loss!
  22. I've been making this excellent point to my m8s for weeks and no one else seems to understand it. Clearly, refs are terrified of the consequences of making a decision against the OF
  23. Weeks of media and personal abuse that were totally unacceptable - it's a game and just too many people that support the bigot brothers forget that.
