  1. Well said. There remain a few in the churlish camp. Hopefully next game or two will change that. Unlikely though....
  2. Job not done as yet. Would be mad to think we are over the line yet. This is thistle. I'm just hoping our excellent form continues and it doesn't roll on to the final game....
  3. He has of course no chance of the Scotland job....then again perhaps the infamous PowerPoint presentation may bamboozle the blazers. Maybe after he gets us back up to the SPL ( ducks for cover )
  4. So onwards to Saturday. Who knows what Caldwell will go with. I'm assuming McDonald won't be able to play with concussion? Hopefully an aggressive attack minded team. Cannae wait.
  5. If we do stay up and I'm a little more confident now our away form has been critical. Last 8 away games. Won 4. Drawn 3 lost 1. Best form in the division.
  6. Win on Saturday and we stay up. We are nearly there but not over yet! Another night to celebrate!
  7. My knickers are intact. Just making observations. There has been plenty of false prophesies on here. Which is why I'm not making any predictions tonight. All the best to those going tonight. Alas I have the torture of the radio commentary to endure....
  8. Let's hope we get a result tonight just so you can't trot out that particular statistic. Or do you have a new one in mind if we go above 9th? Let me guess. We draw we go above alloa on goal difference. So 8th. You will day we are 9th equal. We win and go 6th. You will say we are 2 points above 9th. We lose God forbid....well we're 9th. You will then mention 9th in some way from now to the end of the season and into pre season and on into the new season.
  9. Here's a thought. It's not all down to the manager to change tactics. The players can do it. That's what Mcginty did by having the balls to go forward. Liverpool did this at the weekend and scored as the players took responsibility for identifying a defensive flaw......klopp endorsed it. Collective responsibility.
  10. A common trait among most managers. They get it wrong. They react. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. It worked on Saturday unless I'm missing something?
  11. He proactively put on the subs at 45 mins. It was also reactive. Depends how you want to paint it.
  12. Met him once. A very dignified and decent man.
  13. I only answered the question that was put to me. You will have your view and I have mine. Probably both views are respective p#sh. We will be very lucky indeed if we inherit another Lambie or indeed someone who gets us into the top 6. I'm merely hoping that we stay up this year and push on next year. We may have a better idea on that at 9.45 pm tonight.
  14. You are of course now broadening the goalposts. Your original post merely mentioned exciting football. I'd argue we played some great stuff against alloa second half. Parts of the game when we beat Morton 3 nil. The first half against Ross county ( yes I know we got trounced second half ). The win against Dundee United we played well first half. I could go on. Where you may have an argument is that we haven't produced the full 90 mins any game I've been at . See what I did there sandy...a balanced perspective. It makes supporting thistle so much easier lmao.
  15. As was my statement that Caldwell has us winning games away from home.....do you really need me to acknowledge your negativity on each and every occasion....nb it's all about opinions. Annoying isn't it when it doesn't chime with your own.
  16. I've seen thistle play exciting football at times under Caldwell. Maybe not the vintage stuff that we played when Archie took us back to the premier, but that doesn't come about too often. Who knows what next season may bring.....if he's still in charge. It's funny how the opinion of Cardle has changed from when he first was signed to replace erskine.....
  17. I think you may have mentioned that before......
  18. He was injured for a fair bit too. Plus the team have been getting results since January so more difficult to get back in? That said I'd deffo play him from the start at home games.
  19. The reality now is that it is results before style, home or away. I don't disagree that the way the team plays is not wholly different from the way we played under Archie.....with one major difference.....we are winning away from home far more regularly. So he must be doing something right....?
  20. Can't see Fitzpatrick starting. Spittal I would think. Apart from that id agree although I'm not overly impressed by McMillan
  21. So onwards to Ayr. Just read this thread for the first time. If we win I can think of a better place for that red hot poker.
  22. Well done Blair. Let's hope he hits the heights last few games. A bit of an enigma for me. Very much a confidence player. Like erskine in some respects.
