  1. Fair play to the club. They made an arse of it, realised it and have corrected it and we can continue to enjoy what the Northy brings to Firhill. Get the season tickets out now. I'll be buying one on the back of this decision and hope more and more of us do likewise and we can see the Northy grow. Well done to everyone for sticking together on this issue and proving we can have a voice when it comes to what goes on at our club. Right, I'm off back into WeAreThistle hibernation now. PEACE
  2. If that is the case and they have realised the error of their ways then I will be buying a season ticket as soon as they become available.. Well played everyone for not taking this bit of stupidity and taking us for granted lying down. Let's make the North Stand even more special and busy next season!!
  3. What a lovely start to the morning to see the Club Statement and to find out that they would like to see what the fans have to say. It's a shame this wasn't the way things were dealt with initally but it is encouraging for me, but nothing more than that right now. The Jags Trust statement is also very welcome, well worded and to the point. This, to me, is what the Jags Trust should be all about, especially in situations like this and though I have not been a fan of this organisation over the years I applaud their efforts here. Regarding the Supporters Federation who will be meeting with the club. * Who does this Federation consist of? * Is it merely supporters buses, Jags Trust and OneThistle? * Does the North Stand have representation within this Federation? I am hopeful that now we may have an opportunity for the North Stand to continue, but that is all, hopeful. I am not convinced that this meeting is gonna be a 'we hold our hands up guys, we made a mistake' type meeting and is gonna be more of an organised attempt to sell this new seating plan and make right the **** ups of the past few days. Like I say, I welcome this sudden need for consultation and will be holding off to see how this transpires before parting with any cash and I also think the BoD deserves credit for admitting how wrong they judged this as I fully expected this to be a done deal no matter what.
  4. I've found it very interesting to read the support from the JHS punters and season ticket holders on the whole North Stand farce that we find ourselves in. If you're a JHS season ticket holder, go there as a PATG punter or simply because you take the kids to the game, what's your take and stance on this ludicrous situation that looks set to return Firhill to the soulless arena we ALL endured for far too long? I think it's important that the views of punters outwith the 600 or so troublesome, noisy mad men is taken into account and heard here..
  5. Totally agree with this. This situation shouldn't be made personal nor become a slanging match as it will only back them into a corner even further than they have placed themselves already. The BoD have made a terrible, ill-thought out decision that has been badly relayed to the fans and should be retracted for the sake of the business and the good work that has gone before. Let's not let this get silly and out of hand. Like I said in an earlier post, I reckon this is a toys out the pram at the Celtic decision being questioned and protested against. Getting involved in shit like this and putting names and faces to things is dangerous and unnecessary ground.
  6. This is about the protests against allowing the celtic fans into the North Stand, nothing more, nothing less. A complete and utter 'toys out the pram' moment at having songs sung and banners flown against that decision. To make out that Archie has had a say in this reeks and to bring Rangers into it and the fact they will be back in the Premiership shortly is astonishing. What if Rangers get promoted next season and we get relegated? Will anyone who is left that has moved to the Main Stand then be shunted back to the North Stand? Anger does not describe how I feel right now. The last two years have been the most enjoyable in decades, mainly due to being part of something special and there being an atmosphere at Firhill again created by all those in the North Stand. Time to call it a day..
  7. 'Archie wants some noise behind him'.. what total and utter patronising shite. This reeks to me of a few wee complaints from fellow SPFL chairman about the facilities and a 'let's just put those fannies in there' scenario. That statement gives no real reason what so ever, shameful. Away games for me, not being taken for granted by these clowns anymore.
  8. Would be interesting to see what the players think of this decision? Not likely to get any who are under contract to comment on it but the likes of ATS or Erskine may have a view on how having an atmosphere has helped us achieve what we have the last few years.
  9. I wouldn't count on it. I'm starting to think more and more that this is a toys out the pram moment at there being protests over being moved for the Celtic games and this is their first opportunity to do anything about it. My main concern here is that their is undoubted pig-headedness within the powers that be at our club and this is payback time and nothing will change their minds.
  10. It doesn't matter how many times we play the manky mob. That is no reason to dismantle THE thing that creates this 'matchday experience' that the BoD crow on about so much for the whole season.
  11. PT, with the 'Matchday Experience Officer' or whatever it is that Mr Beattie mentioned in the STV interview being appointed then surely his/her role can be to undertake the effort that it takes to sort out the season ticket holders for the two paltry Celtic games that occur each season. In fact, the club will know exactly who the 250 season ticket holders are who need notified when they purchase their season ticket so they inform them then and they know it's coming. That is a ridiculous, pathetic excuse and totally unacceptable. It seems quite clear from reading the eight pages of this thread that it's not just us North Standers who see this move by the club as being a shoot yourself in the foot moment. There has been plenty of JHS patrons posting who value and see the benefits the North Stand has brought to the club over the last few seasons and there is not a doubt in my mind that the effect the North Stand has had in creating an atmosphere has inspired the players to achieve what we have achieved over the last few seasons. Personally, I think the best course of action that can be taken here is that everyone who feels aggrieved by this decision and the way in which it has been handled gets on the phone to the club tomorrow, the day of the season ticket launch, and lets it be made clear that they will not be renewing their season ticket or buying one for the first time like myself until this ludicrous decision is reversed. I will be doing this and I will also be making it clear that I will be attending Firhill less if we are forced to return to the sanitised atmosphere of the JHS or moved into the Main Stand and will instead be taking in more away games and supporting the team in that way. The North Stand has revitalised my love of PTFC and the atmosphere of the North Stand without a doubt helped save me from becoming one of the ones who slipped away. I will also be informing the club that I will be cancelling my Centenary Fund membership and any thought of becoming a TAG member were it to ever surface again has gone unless this changes. For me the PropCo situation has nothing to do with this and I personally don't think this should be linked in any way to this crazy move. If it was part of any agenda then the idea of moving the NS crowd to the main stand wouldn't be happening as that and the bing is what PropCo owns. I am dismissing that and just putting this down to some half-arsed part of a so-called business plan. This new 'Matchday Experience Officer' or whatever that Mr Beattie talked about is gonna have to have some voice on him to generate the atmosphere to add to the experience that the 600 or so who attend the North Stand do. Be money well spent if he/she can recreate that, as from what I see Firhill is going to be heading back to the soulless dark days again if the club persist with this nonsensical decision. The way in which this was delivered to Ian & PT suits the club too I reckon. At least this way it is out there and word has probably spread enough for many of the Nort Stand supporters to now know the farcical plan. If it hadn't been leaked out like this when folk phoned up to get season tickets and asked for the North Stand the ones in the office would be getting it when having to say it's either JHS or Main Stand for Jags fans. Like I said, I think the best course of action here is phone calls to the club tomorrow and let your feelings be known whether you are a North Stand regular or JHS punter who understands what having the North Stand has brought to the club over the last few years... 0141 579 1971, get calling.
  12. Thanks to both Brian and Tom for their commitment to the club over many years.
  13. Was planning on buying my first ever season ticket having been a pay at the gate fan for over 30 years this week as a thank you to Archie and the boys for sticking to their principles of playing the game the way it should be throughout the season and achieving what they did. Was going to do this, even though a season ticket is of no real use to me as I can't make every home game due to work commitments. On the back of this nonsensical North Stand news and with the thought of watching my games from the mundane atmosphere of the JH stand once again I won't be bothering until the BoD have the decency to at least explain this ridiculous decision and justify it to me. One new season ticket holder lost..
  14. What, they're gonna put a pool table and sky sports in the Main Stand? I'm not interested in what goes on in the lounge or whatever it's called and am certainly not interested in sitting or even standing in the Main Stand with a restricted view due to the pillars that are in place as I am sure the majority of the North Stand regulars will also be against Mr Beattie spoke in his STV interview about staying up allowing us to get Matchday Experience Officer or some shit in place to improve the professionalism of the club then goes and shits on the fans, who have been generting an atmosphere within the ground that has had nothing but praise from everyone this season, in this way. So annoyed that a celebration of the club's achievments this season have been totally ruined by this foolish decision-making.
  15. Haven't posted in here for a long, long time now but feel the need to here. Having been a North Stand regular since it came about and having been crying out for something like this to happen since the days of Brown McMaster I am distraught at the thought that the BoD are planning on abandoning this and thinking that we will all just move into the main stand and continue to back the team in the way we do. The North Stand has given me, and the folk I go with a new lease of life as a Thistle fan. The thought of returning to the mundane atmosphere of the Jackie Husband does nothing for me in the slightest and though I have enjoyed this season as much as any in my 30 years or so as a Jags fan it will be a struggle for me to enjoy going back to the shitty way it was. I was, for the first time in my supporting years planning on buying a season ticket on the back of this season's efforts by Archie and the team. I will do nothing of the sort now if this is the case. I don't know what it is with PTFC but why does whoever is on our BoD not understand the importance of the fans to this football club? We should be doing everything we can to make Firhill as hostile a place to come for away teams as we can but we seem intent on destroying the atmosphere, that without a doubt, has helped get us back to where we belong and keep us there. I cannot for the life of me understand the thinking behind this and am angered that a day that should have been full of celebration at what we have achieved has been ruined by a decision made without the fans in mind yet again. Takes me back to the days of Clown & Co this does and I will be calling the club and letting my feelings be know first thing on Monday morning. A terrible, thoughtless, destructive decision by the club. Utterly ridiculous.
  16. Jane Lewis‏@JaneLewisSport24m Jim Leishman has just announced that #Dunfermline have applied to go administration.
  17. All previous results would be declared void... 94.2.1 In the event of the club defaulting in the course of any season without having fulfilled all of its fixtures then all matches in which the defaulting club(s) participated in the course of that season shall be declared void by the Board.
  18. Gus McPherson anyone? How to ruin everything we have in one fool swoop...
  19. For me, like I said yesterday, the reins have to be passed on to Archie and Maxy to try to keep the consistency and team spirit that we have at the club. There's no reason why these two can't continue to get the team playing in the way they have been and it may well give the players a bit of a push to kick on even further than we have done. Bringing someone else in may well just rock the boast and ruin all the hard work from so far..
  20. They are without a doubt a team and would be leaving Firhill as a team. If it comes about and I hope it doesn't then the best option for me to keep the consistency at the club would be to put Archie and Maxy in charge. To bring someone new in with the bunch of players we have and spirit within the club would be a disaster at this stage I reckon.
  21. I think Houston going today just tells you that they now know who their man is going to be and the decision is imminent. I'd be very surprised if Jackie talking with them yesterday was a second interview after his quotes on Saturday but you can't blame him for listening to what they have to say and adding to his managerial experience by being involved in this manky process that goes on in the game. For me Jackie would be mad to take on this job at this stage of his career. He stays with us and we keep this challenge up to reach the golden egg of the SPL, playing the football we are then other clubs will come calling. If we don't go up then he's got more time to prove what he's made of and if we do then there's no expectations of grandeur there and his CV will just get boosted even more if we do well. He goes to Tannadice they'll be expecting instant improvement and success on a budget lower than any manager's had their in years. Jackie and Sid are real novices at this managerial game, novices that are doing well but novices all the same. Why **** your career by going somewhere like Tannadice? Pressley believes the job's his and it's just a matter of sorting it out with Falkirk... here's hoping.
  22. Might be an idea before he's no longer their to shout at/praise!
  23. We are playing consistently the best football I have seen in my 30 years following the Jags. If we could keep this team together, including management, I'd have no fears about heading up to the golden egg that is the SPL should we make it and would fear no-one and relish the season that was to lie ahead. For me Stephen O'Donnell and Aaron Muirhead are just two that will prove very difficult to hold on to as there is no doubt there will be scouts heading to our games week in week out with the football we are playing.
