Osman had played in Scottish football before he joined us so was used to the game. He was excellent but had experience of the game up here The Dumbaya thing is a complete myth - people completely fail for it he was terrific for 3 months- got injured and for the remaining 2 and 3 quarters years was injured. 3 months out of 3 years is not good value for money. Worse his injury wasn’t even from football but from larking about with his mates on nights out Barton was very good for his first year. The second year his attitude was stinking despite picking up a good wage

If we have less of a budget do players from down south not cost more? Presumably we have to help them with accommodation costs Hopefully Doolans signings from English leagues are better than Archie’s where he was an agent’s dream taking anyone and we ended up with woeful signings with guys like McGinty, eccleston etc

I’m beginning to be a bit puzzled as to why we gave Williams a 2 year deal (Robinson too given his injury record). I thought Williams had been well scouted - but he seems to be struggling a bit possibly because the Scottish game can be a different pace to that down south. But if that’s the case why sign him for 2 years instead of a shorter time frame to see if he adjusted okay

If it’s a 37 year old defender rumoured I’d think I would pass. I think it’s ridiculous we haven’t offered Euan East a deal- plenty of experience of championship and Scottish football and left sided CB. At the very least we are needing competition for places

I think it was mentioned as £32.5k but as you say still a decent amount

Mitchell has had numerous whoppers- really? Far less than Sneddon that’s for sure. Aside from Queen’s Park and Dundee I don’t recall many more. Mitchell is the better keeper and should be the number one.

He was at fault for both goals- blunders that he has done similar to throughout his career at Firhill and he has been here 6 years and not improved significantly at all. there was an alternative at the first goal - palm it to the side rather than straight to the Falkirk player Trying to defend him because he happened to save a penalty is ridiculous- if he hadn’t mucked up in the first place we may have taken all 3 points Mitchell although prone to blunders as well is the better goalkeeper

Disagree on first goal- Sneddon completely to blame straight to Falkirk player who happened to be that did McGovern who will never have an easier goal to score. Sneddon should have at least hit to the side

If players signed from English lower leagues take so long to adjust to the Scottish game then I am unsure as to the point of signing them unless it’s someone like Abdul Osman, prince Busben or Higgsnbothan who we signed from English leagues but had played in the Scottish leagues and did well with us. Guys like McGinty etc etc who we signed based on scout recommendations etc had no experience of the Scottish game and were appalling. Williams was actually one of the very few to get passmarks so I’m hoping he Busch’s the previous trend
