  1. Anything can be put on google - I wouldn’t class it as the most reliable source. if you believe everything from google then you are the one in Alison in wonder land. I genuinely hope your not using google to identify any health symptoms or conditions
  2. I think most players (not all) will be on a lot more than that. It had been mentioned that Milne was on £1000 a week and sayers by several people on £1500 a week which Milne was not happy with. Theres no way McLymont would say a promotion winning budget and then pay players £700 a week. Unless you have individual discussions with the players I can’t see how it’s easy to know what they are on. To give Doolan credit and I doubt guys like McCall or Campbell would have done this, he admitted at the AGM that he made a number of mistakes this season including with the budget etc
  3. Donald McLymont sad Doolan was given a promotion winning budget in the summer. That would suggest most players are well over what you suggested
  4. I definitely think that most are on over £700 a week
  5. It’s pretty well known that we have players on far higher wages than that. I would expect players like Graham, Turner, Bannigan, Ashcroft, Chalmers Muirhead to be on closer to double that. Morton for some reason wanted to keep Crawford- we were able to offer considerably more than they were to tempt him away. Ayr wanted to sign Chalmers yet he came to us. IIRC we have been trying to sign Ashcroft for several years including under McCall. Sadly it’s looking like Docherty will be out for some time. Going off at a tangent I actually think Martin will be a very much a Docherty type signing and no one can judge him on Saturday for his first game. I think he will be a very good signing from Doolan. Also being mentioned that Martins girlfriend and her family are all Partick Thistle season ticket holders for many years
  6. Maybe he should have been- although the circumstances that season of relegation were very unique in football history he did have a truly appalling season as manager. I don’t think he could have had many complaints if he had been.
  7. I’d say Mitchell and Fitzpatrick have become more fall guys. The buck at any club ends with the manager ultimately I’m afraid. There was a lot of behind the scenes when McCall was sacked including a real threat that players were not going to be paid for January but it didn’t stop the club parting company with him. While you make the point about Doolan not having been able to manage here for 3 years, the very harsh reality of football is that it is a results based business. No football club can be a charity. It maybe a noble sense to give someone 3 years management but if results don’t pick up then the club can slip down the league and with it being approximately £100,000 per place that’s a huge amount of money. There’s the added risk of crowds dwindling again meaning potential loss of income, players and fans becoming more disillusioned. Theres not much sentiment in football now and I can’t see many managers been given 3 years if they are not delivering, regardless of how great they were as a player at a club. Results have to pick up very quickly
  8. Point out where I said we said we should have kept McCall? I said we were right to remove him. However we should not have done so after the Rangers game- it could have waited until 48 hours after the game
  9. Stop hiding behind the injuries excuse- every manager of every team has had injuries. Not can you say McKay has been a huge loss when no- one knows if he is any good at all
  10. You did not read my post properly or else you did and are simply at it. I am not comparing their whole times in charge but this season and McCalls last. I said the time when McCall was sacked is reminiscent of where we are currently with Doolan. Doolan did indeed galvanise McCalls players. Mccall was clearly unable to galvanise them just as Doolan is unable to galvanise his own. The fact he could galvanise players 2 years ago is not much use when unable to do so now. The good attacking brand of football was 2 years ago-do you not realise we are not in the same season? There has been next to no good attacking brand. In McCalls last month players looked uninterested and unfit though there was the worry that their wages were unable to be paid. McCalls side in his last month lost to the 2 bottom teams. Doolans team looks unfit and uninterested. We have taken 4 points from our last 5 games which is appalling. This season we have exited the cups every round we entered. We are now pretty much in the same situation as McCall was when he was sacked. Stop hiding behind Doolan had us playing well 2 years ago argument and take off your red and yellow glasses. We are not playing well this season full stop, nowhere near it, we have been nothing but poor - yet according to you this is a good season
  11. it wont have been when you take into account size of budget, players at managers disposal and pathetic exits from the cups Prsently it very similar to where we were when McCall was sacked though we were sitting in 5th though alternatively our cup runs had not been as appalling as this seasons. We are leaderless, rudderless, players looking unfit and uninterested. Then again 2 years ago players were not aware if they were even going to be paid in January so I can see why to an extent they would be uninterested. This was exactly the same as McCall at the end. Constantly questionable signings, tactics, substitutions in many games. The only player for me really showing urgency is Chalmers. the main difference is that as a player Doolan was a legend which is why he is probably getting more time. At present this IMO is not a good season, it is currently a flat, mediocre season
  12. Sorry whos contract has been terminated?
  13. I think that was the defunct Rangers that was mentioned in regards to 1967. Don’t know this new Newcomer Rangers 2012 fare in comparison
  14. They will definitely be gaining ground on us when it comes to the position of third team in Glasgow. It’s not far fetched to imagine at some point they could overtake us
  15. We also have no natural left back and are now playing a centre back in that role
  16. Even more unbelievable that a huge jags fan has went on loan to Livingston as a left back. How much would he have loved to play for us. Though I’m Guessing the Livi loan was organised before we knew we were losing Harry Milne
  17. Would expect this to be on the official website if that’s the case? Can we get the Partick Thistle supporting rangers loanee please
  18. Funnily enough I always thought we could do worse than try to sign Callum Ferrie on a pre contract next season. Can’t see that happening now
  19. I think the concern should be more with the issues of Doolans position as manager than Mitchell’s as goalkeeper to be honest
  20. Transfer market and Wikipedia list him as a left back confusingly
  21. Apparently the left back Rangers loaned Livingston Robbie Fraser is a Partick Thistle fan - him and his family have all been jags season ticket holders for years.
  22. I don’t think he is to blame for the season or the goals conceded yesterday. Defence was shocking and just stood there when the penalty rebound was knocked in. He’s not as good as Roberts and we do need another goalie anyway in case he’s injured but he’s not the worst goalkeeper.
  23. Didn’t help that the defence stood like statue’s when he saved the penalty and let the Falkirk player score from the rebound
  24. Yeah agree about Megwa who was outstanding in that game against us in that game. I am now wondering if that was a kind of one off and he wasn’t quite as good as that in most of the other games for Airdrie which we would not have watched
