  1. I do what happens if they decide to take over us or Queens Park for talking sake? I thought it was unfair United taking over Clydebank, what gives Newco the right to think it can take over Cowdenbeath and take on their small deby and therefore get away with the £140 million or so they owe everyone else. I don't know after the United Clydebank thing if anything was put in place to stop it ever happening again
  2. Are you sure Falkirk's statement said that as there seemed to be a lot of anger from Falkirk fans that it didn't say no to newco
  3. On Official Website: The fast moving events that have unfolded in Scottish football over the last few months have led to an unprecedented level of speculation. To reiterate our statement of Friday; there is presently no decision for Partick Thistle, or any other SFL club, to make. Indeed there may never be a requirement for further discussion. We, as a Club, are aware though that there has, over the last 24 hours or so, been much discussion on the subject among our supporters. We are keen, therefore, to emphasise that should we be required to be involved in making a decision on the involvement of a newco Rangers club in the SFL that the views of our supporters will be of paramount importance to us. Working closely with the onethistle group, we would make use of every avenue open to us to seek the views of, and canvas opinion from, our supporters to help us better formulate a position that promotes the best interests of Partick Thistle Football Club and Scottish Football as a whole. We have believed for some time that fundamental changes need to be made to Scottish Football. The future of the sport in this country is too important not to involve the lifeblood of the game, the supporters, in making what we feel are the important changes necessary to safeguard the future of the game. In the meantime the hard work continues at Firhill as we strive to provide a Partick Thistle team in which we can all take pride in. We thank you for your continued support of Partick Thistle.
  4. Joe sorry to hear about your friend Dougie, always sad to hear the passing of a fellow Jags fan especially at a very young ageRest in peace Dougie. Thoughts go to family and you Joe at this very difficult time
  5. Hence my concern though that if say they bought over Cowdenbeath FC they could use the Blue Brazils finances and their playing fixtures for the last 3 years to answer some of those questions
  6. Yep they are and I am pleased to say last year got promotion from divison two to the top divison of the Greater Glasgow Premier League and this year became champions of the Greater Glasgow Premier League a quite fantastic achievement. Needless to say plenty of old HiHi fans wish their club had been given the chances Rangers and Dundee have been given
  7. If we think what Beattie at Jags, Rae at Morton and Ritchie at Falkirk have all said the Cowdenbeath Chairman has gone even further in his statement saying he would be delighted having full houses at Central Park. As someone mentioned in another thread about a rumour of Rangers maybe attemtping to take over Cowdenbeath I wonder if this is perhaps a flawed attempt to save his clubs skin
  8. Slightly changing topic here but what Airdrie United then did by killing Clydebank and then getting into divison 2 as a result also should have called into the question the integrity of the game. I fear Newco may also attempt this route if they don't get into the SPL or first divison - which should not be allowe either, however with the precedent set by Airdrie I am not sure if this could be stopped?
  9. I have noticed a few people mentioning not watching Scottish football again - is the National team and Craig Levein included in this or is it generall SPL, SFL people are referring to?
  10. Again maybe a bit naive here is there a scenario where the SPL teams can vote to relegate newco done to the first divison without SFL clubs getting a vote? If there was a vote is it just Divison one clubs that can vote or would it be all 3 divisons?
  11. Great post Michael, I know you have contact with the club is there any chance you could email what you have said in your excellent post to the directors.
  12. There was an article in the Metro today about rumours of newco buying over Bury but it not going ahead. Does anyone know if there is a danger that if newco did not get into the SPL or divison one then they would try to buy over a first divison team and rename them as newco Rangers? Would they be allowed to do that? Could they even afford it? I am just wondering if it is possible that Beattie and Rae fear something like that hence why they have been extremely soft on the newco punishment aspect and put them trying anything or maybe I am being to soft on them for suggesting this?
  13. Actually got it wrong again seemingly Rae of Morton according to their forum did say he would welcome Rangers to the first and their supporters are as irate as us
  14. Well said, the Chairman of the likes of Hamilton Accies or Morton for example may be thinking the same as him but they have said nothing and therefore no-one has any idea what they think. SOmetimes he is just too keen to make his views known to the papers
  15. Again mate an excellent post, please email the club and David Beattie to let them know your feel.
  16. Mate might be an idea to email David Beattie via the club or if you have his own email address even better just to let him know what you think.
  17. To be fair you could say the old name for that club could be either Airdrieonians or Clydebank so is a bit different. Though any Airdrie fan I have spoken to hates the name Airdrie United and would prefer to be called Airdrieonians again
  18. I thought a new company called Airdrieonians Stadium Ltd had bought it. They had named themselves after the old Airdrie team and I thought Airdrie United and the likes of the Celtic Under 19's rented it off them. Anyway its good news that the Jags are going to be getting some cash next season even if its not quite the same amount as the Warriors. To be honest we were never going to get the same amount even if we had rented to Clyde
  19. Apparently one of the colours in the away top is purple.
  20. As in they will play Partick Thistle in a friendly or they will be playing their Under 19's games at Firhill and paying Partick Thistle to do so?
  21. Yep well said.If he impresses during trial and Jackie offers him a contract then Alan will get my support, if he doesn't impress then Jackie can say no thanks and no harm lost.
  22. I seem to remember McCall wanting to sign him and Kettlewell a few years back, however Clyde were able to offer them both higher wages. Though that was one of the reasons they started to run into major debt issues
  23. Welcome Ajay, all the best with your involvement with the Jags
  24. Andrew I was under the impression you thought that way for all my posts
