  1. Excellent move for him, hope it works out and he continues to develop. I agree, it was nice to see him praise Thistle and the fans - thanks Aaron!
  2. Thanks for the link. Although it is a pointless story from the Evening Times - no news or hints of a comeback. In fact, it makes me think he is still well off being able to play for us!
  3. I don't think we will sign Harkins. He had a run-in at Killie and it was allegedly over his lack of first team starts. St Mirren were then quick to loan him out and Danny Lennon referred to his off-the-pitch attitude/effort. The guy is talented, we know that, but his attitude is unlikely to fit in with us. Archie has referred to how important our team spirit is etc. so I can't see him signing a player who has clearly had issues with his last two clubs.
  4. Don't think a single Jags fan would disagree - we want Taylor and it would be brilliant if Higgy extended. My gut feeling is neither or these things will happen. Taylor will have caught the eye of most managers in our league at least, almost all can offer higher wages. Higgy could take a step up, providing he can maintain his recent form, and I think he knows this so it is understandable he will want to remain as free as possible for a club to sign him. Hope I'm wrong here as they are great players!
  5. Stevie won us the penalty against Killie, sort of an assist I do agree that if we genuinely thought of going for top six then we needed a lot more and the likes of Stevie and Christie should be cut free. However, as a squad player, I am pleased to keep Stevie for another season. Bet he regrets not signing the extension at the end of last season as he was on lower/first division wages all this season!
  6. I think Ratnamara and Co were unhappy with his contribution, especially considering he isn't/wasn't cheap by all accounts. Doubt they will want him back.
  7. Slew was garbage, all arms and elbows - scored his only goal against us as well. Goodwillie would be good, slight attitude problem I suspect so maybe not fit in with our ethos. Can't see our wages even stretching to half of what Goodwillie expects/wants though!

    Paul Gallacher

Great to have Gall for another season, he was major part of how we avoided the play off imo. I imagine Scully will be loaned out if Foxy is fit by the start of the season, hopefully get him a Championship side and experience of playing against "big" teams like Rangers and Hearts!
  9. Hmmm just seems to be a supposition based on Sheffield United's tweet that he is free to go if an offer comes in and the fact that Archie obviously wants Taylor. We can only hope would be some coup to sign him permanently!
  10. We turned down £50k for Lawless who was on Scottish Championship wages with a year left on his contract! Cant see Taylor going for less than £100k, I thought they paid £125k for him.

    Ozzy

That would be amazing, Ozzy breaking up play and bullying the opposition and feeding the ball to Banzo/Fraser... Hope he gets fit and we come to an agreement, very much doubt it will happen though.
  12. Cue one Jackie Ratnamara lurking in the shadows...
  13. From the official website response posted today... "It should be noted that the home support kids will continue to go free at our club and this £25 fee is for a reserved seat" Kids Go Free policy is still active, the £25 is for a reserved seat.
  14. Okay, so it almost matches our policy on kids but the adult ticket is a bit cheaper, however, we ALSO offer free entry at the gate for U-16s.
  15. Killie offer one free U-16 season ticket per adult, then those after are £20. St Mirren is the same but those after are between £45-£190. Also, we still offer free U-16 entry at the gate and I believe there are free U-16 season tickets (with no limit per adult) in the family section of the stand. We still offer the best overall deal imo.
  16. Unfortunately, this often happens, the minority spoil it for the majority. I like your idea of the sliding scale, first kid is £25 then second is less etc. - would help those with two or more kids keep the cost down.
  17. Good shout! How could that be managed? Probably by tracking if the season ticket was used to attend a match... Although, the club wouldn't know it was unused until after at least one home game and someone could be ill or on holiday so it would be unfair to cancel a ticket after one missed match. Therefore, a few missed matches would probably be required. By this time, the seat has already been reserved for weeks or months and not available for another fan to buy on a season ticket. A member of staff would have to go and remove the reserved sticker from the seat, re-allocate the seat for season ticket sales and the club should also notify the person who is having their ticket cancelled. All of this is further admin work. Alternatively, a deposit system could be employed, if the kids season ticket is used x number of times then the £25 or a large proportion of that is refunded. Again this is further admin work and costs so I can see why this would not be a suitable system/check too. I do sympathise with those that are hit by these changes but I think the club are trying to be reasonable by keeping the cost down and offering/maintaining alternatives that are completely free.
  18. The club were quoted saying that around 150 free kids season tickets were applied for, produced by the office and were never used/collected all season - pretty strong evidence of wasted resources and seats. If there are no prime seats at Firhill and it is mostly empty then there can be no complaints about not reserving a kids seat and just sitting where you want each week by turning up at the gate or sitting in the kids/family section. It is pretty obvious that when something is totally free and then the terms change or an "admin" fee is levied that those who used the offer will be unhappy and for many of those in that category there will be no reasoning. I can see why a fee is now being charged and it can be avoided if money (or the principle of now paying) is the main issue.
  19. If there is evidence of "prime location" seats (e.g. centre of JHS) being wasted or going unused due to free kids season tickets and around 150 kids season tickets being produced by the Club for free and never being collected/used... then, in my opinion, yes, a charge is necessary and required.
  20. The charge is perfectly reasonable imo. If money is really tight then just turn up at the gate and the kid gets in completely free. If you require or wish a reserved seat for your kid then pay £25 for a whole season of football - less than £1.50 per game. The £25 will also help cover admin/associated costs for managing and producing the season ticket. I would like to see how many other top league clubs offer such a deal
  21. St Mirren have released/are not keeping Paul McGowan (I don't want him at Firhill btw!), he was a wide/attacking player and Saints fans claim he was on £3k a week... I reckon St Mirren may try and get McFadden! He can still be a decent player imo. County have signed Joe Cardle on a one year deal. Shows a lack of ambition, if that is the standard County are bringing in then they will be down near the bottom next season. He had a decent season at Raith there, will be interesting to see how he copes in the Premiership!
  22. Motherwell have stated they couldn't afford to keep him, no way we can afford him. I am assuming he is on a minimum of £2k a week, probably more like £3-4k.
  23. Great news. I think Gary is a real, genuine prospect. Just keep his head down and continue as he has and there should be a big things ahead for him. Well done Thistle for getting this deal sorted!
  24. Very encouraging, looks like good news will be officially announced. Well done to all the Jags representatives there tonight
