Motherwell have added McManus, McFadden, Sutton, Lawson and Vigurs. Decent signings and they will be looking to add a keeper and a winger and maybe another forward. They have another Estonian lad on trial who could be loaned out from his Norwegian parent club.

On the footballing side I am happy with the effort that Archibald and his coaching staff are putting into getting our squad ready for the SPFL Premiership campaign. Most fans are realistic in that we won't be able to compete with wages with any other club in the league unless they have already used their budget for the season. Motherwell, Hibs and Aberdeen have brought in players with International experience as well as top flight experience. To be fair to the board they seem to be looking to support the manager. We have signed up a good number of our promising young squad and added three senior players to date. We are obviously looking to add to the squad with the various trialists getting game tame. Not ideal but we were not in a position to pick our targets and get them signed up in June. I think it will be nearer the end of the transfer window before we finalise our transfer dealings. The concerns with our off field commercial activities and seating arrangements have been outlined pretty well. I just had a look at the seating arrangements for season tickets. I got a ticket with a friend for the first time in years. I appreciate I will probably have to use my JHS seat for games against Celtic. However will I be able to use it in the North stand for other games? Will there now be reserved seating in the North stand for other games? The reports about the hygiene at the kiosks and in hospitality are a concern. However they are not a great surprise. The kiosk in the North stand lacks even a shelf for condiments and mossy areas of breezeblock are in use. This was the case when it was still the away section too. I also had hospitality at the cup game with the Pars and it wasn't the best. I appreciate the food is brought in by the caterers but if it is not being served and heated in hygenic surrounds that is a worry too. The uninspiring Joma range seems a missed opportunity too. I don't mind the look of the home top too much but I wouldn't part with my hard earned for any of it too be honest. I won't be buying pies or booking hospitality either at this rate. A shame really. As the title suggests, the work done by onethistle within the club to create an enjoyable match-day environment is being overshadowed by missed opportunities by the board and their outsourced catering company. I hope the team give us something to cheer this season, as there is little else to look forward to at the moment

Scougall is signed up for a couple more seasons, jesus garcia tena was a decent looking player for them last season. Out of contract now.
-
Excellent signing by Motherwell. If they confirm McFadden's signature they have had an excellent transfer window so far.
-
If league goals only we are going back to Mo Jo? If not Grady, Mo Johnston, Gerry McCoy. Rest before my time
-
I think it was just before about 90/91 when the excellent main stand and the best floodlights in Europe had been installed?

Money, Motherwell played CL and EL qualifiers last season but still saw half their first team leave at the end of the season

It's only a leisurely ten minutes from Cowcaddens subway, five from the Station bar.

The lad and another player at Hamilton came to an agreement to buy out their contract. Would be happy to get him and one or two others in on loan to add some depth to the squad.

I read that all funds for matches are pooled by the league and every club gets an equal share with end of season league position determining how much more clubs get. So no direct payment to the club for televised league games. We would only benefit in that way from a televised cup game. Two back to back Friday games is a bit much. Means some fans won't be able to see a home league game until end of August/September. Also not great that the opposition teams are from the East of Scotland, imo. Wil have an impact on the Saturday. We may get some neutrals and Thistle fans who can't make Saturdays for whatever reason. It can't be changed, but moving a game for Alba seems a bit much. They usually do replays of a 3pm game on a Saturday evening. I got a season ticket despite starting a new job that can involve weekend work. At least I'm in training for the start of the season so should make most games in the crucial opening stages to the season.

Paterson will have worked with Boulding at Livi, where he did well. Archie and Shaggy maybe hope to get him back to playing regularly and scoring goals?
-
Alan Hare-chibald

Nah, they will all be pished. Boulding? Not SPFL quality so far...

Ger-bil Britton

Got a season ticket, which hasn't been received yet. Do I still need to register seperatley for TAG? Wouldn't mind a shot at the prize draw.

Agree with this. I guess we will still run with the budget that was thrashed out not long after we finished last season so Archie will have targets and he stated it would take longer to put the finishing touches to the squad this season. There are a lot of players looking for clubs in Scotland, the UK and Europe so I expect a few signings by the end of July. We still have a Chris Erskine sized hole in the team. Maybe we will go for a loan signing to replace his pace and creativity, not to mention his goals, in the side? In general we need some more pace in the attack and coming from midfield, imo.

Morton have accepted a £50k bid from Rotherham United for the magnificent Michael Tidser. At least he will have more salubrious surroundings at work
-
A sneak preview of our squad numbers for next season too? Who is the guy with beard at the back, Welsh?

Some interesting points. So reading between lines away fans will be in the corner of the JHS stand unless we are playing the Jungles or any match anticipated to have a large support? It's a health and safety issue and the club/Beattie has a duty of care to everyone in the ground? So its ok for us but not for the rapscallions amongst the away support? Then the bit at the end was just missing the term "cuddly-toy" Time for some clarity so we can all enjoy the start to our SPFL campaign.

I'm glad I got my mate to reserve two seats in the JHS, just in case This getting a bit farcical now and taking away from our return to the top flight. Policing, Health and Safety, unsafe Stand. It all seems nonsense after the full-house in April against Morton. Sadly it seems to be down to the Glasgow cup final showing up deficiencies in policing the arse cheek. However it was mostly young fans(16-21) who were causing the bother who probably won't even get a ticket for the match. I'm sure at the first Arr Craib cup Celtic fans were in the excellent main stand as well as the Northy before it was purified?

I hope Allan Mannus gave it a good wash before sending it on to Paul

I've given Thistle almost £300 for a season ticket LE So I guess you're not up for it Not sure if I would get anything from the current Thistle/Joma range. I quite like the home top but I am unlikely to pay £40 for a top that will get worn half a dozen times, if it doesn't fall to bits before that. A badge-less away top is much better as it can be worn in the pub pre and post match
-
Can get the away top in a long- sleeve, badge-less version for £14.50. Also at least a 20% discount if you buy at least 7 tops. Anyone fancy chipping in?
