  1. Good article! And correct.....the new tactics will probably not win us promotion.
  2. Why bother with an 8,000-seater stadium for a part-time club? Is that going to magically increase attendances? You'd only need a 1,000 capacity ground. Might as well share with a junior team. In any case, there's no guarantee that we could "cash in" on Firhill in the current economic climate. And we (the club) only own half of it, remember. I'm no lover of the SPL, but it's where I want to see us playing on a regular basis. What do you mean about Dunfermline, that they're bottom of the league? So what? Somebody's got to be there, and if they get relegated they'll be much better off in cash terms than anybody else in the 1st division, thanks to their season in the SPL.
  3. Not an unpredictable score in the entire round. In fact our loss to the lowliest team in Division 1 was probably the only "shock" result, and in fact how many people are truly shocked by it!
  4. My feeling too. Even if we produced somebody who we managed to sell on (not even the faintest hint of this ever happening), the amount made would just be swallowed up by the costs involved in keeping them going. As far as this goes I'm in the Lambie school. Focus it all on the 1st team; that's who we pay to watch and want to see getting to the top level. Great that the U-19s won the Cup last year, but what effect has it had on the 1st team this season?
  5. I'd say that it truly was a miracle.
  6. Elliott looks like he should be that striker, but it's not turning out that way.
  7. Go part-time and kiss goodbye to ever getting promoted to the top flight; more likely to sink like Clyde. And as for crowds dwindling, just watch and see how many folk turn up to see part-timers who are clearly going nowhere week in week out, with not even any prospect of getting better. Want to see only 500 people watching Thistle every week? Part-time is the way to do it.
  8. Surely McNamara must see week in week out that we don't create many chances in the box for our strikers to try to show that they are good at scoring. So what has he been doing to change this? Answers on a postcard, please. Or even just on this forum.
  9. Exactly. Keep Kinniburgh and Erskine too.
  10. Well, I reckon Flannigan, who on the few times that I've seen him play has looked like a passenger. Stewart: I really liked the look of him at the end of last season, but he's done zilch, absolutely zilch since then. And we've got to be ruthless, so Dargo, defo, and it has to be said that Elliott's dream start to his Jags career has descended into non-entity land, with a single goal against a junior team in over three months of playing. The youth teams. All of them!
  11. But then what to do when it's clear by the end of next September that we're again sitting in the middle of the league, out of one or both early-season cups, going nowhere......? Fctfano.
  12. Just found out the score. I'm depressed.
  13. A 10-sec goal similar to the one against Culter might steady the nerves a bit.
  14. Might get one of those for summer. There's no obvious yellow in the photo. What a shame they don't do this one with a thistle badge instead of a Barca one: http://www.sportsdirect.com/nike-barcelona-match-t-shirt-377647
  15. I've got and read just about all of the Jags-related books: Ian Archer's, Robert Reids, Roughie's two, Des McEown's, official handbook, legends,.... But somehow, I don't think Charnley's tim worshipping effort will be joining the pile.
  16. That's similar to my view on Wilkinson. He was definitely a grafter when with us, and he's definitely become harder since then. Definitely not out of his depth now in the Premiership. Definitely.
  17. Scully would be good enough. Roughie got the job at 19. Fox is an excellent goalie, but if we got a decent bit of cash for him, we could do worse than to cash in now.
  18. Thing is, though, Jaggernautess shouts and utters abusive remarks to me on a daily basis.
  19. This could be the best start to a new year ever.
