  1. Another 20 minutes or so before I decide to be regretful or not... 'Mon Thistle!
  2. YES! Doolan .....header from a CORNER (I think)!
  3. If we get come away with any points today then Dunfermline will be well pleased, as they're 2-0 up against Falkirk. Brechin ahead against St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup!
  4. It doesn't sound as if Fox has even had to make any kind of save yet, so let's hope we can stay concentrated. One before half time would be excellent for helping to soothe the nerves.
  5. Aaarrgh. More corners that come to nothing, and more shots that fail to trouble the keeper/soar over the bar...
  6. I think that's probably true. I'd love to see it tried, getting a sponsor to cover the entire cost of a match and paying for the expected income, and announcing that it was entirely free to anybody who wanted to go. My suspicion is that not even the JH stand would get filled these days.
  7. Such a frustrating part of Thistle's performances.
  8. Just emule-ating others on here! Anyway, looks like we've started well in the kingdom.
  9. Official Site updates says the pitch is in good nick, and the Jags have started brightly enough. Monra Thistle!
  10. They've been keeping it clear for the donkeys.
  11. Honestly, why not make it free for everybody? It would certainly be a unique selling point, and surely we could get sponsorship for that?
  12. Don't forget the asylum seekers! And those who might be feeling a bit under the weather.....

Actually, the notion that if you're a Jag, then you're a Jag for life, doesn't seem to ring true. When I was a teenager there were tons of us from Drumchapel who used to follow Thistle everywhere; there would sometimes be 15-20 of us on the old Whiteinch bus before it even got out of the Drum. Nowadays, at best, I see one or two of those guys at matches once or twice a season. I know that many of those supporters from long ago just abandoned football for one reason or another, and they've probably not been to a match of any kind for 30 years. Although they might still call themselves Jags when pushed, unfortunately they're not supporters, and I doubt whether they'd bother too much if another big financial crisis came around. Dammit, as I'm typing this I now wish I was heading to San Starko, instead of being cooped up at work.
  14. I'll be biting my nails at the computer for this one.
  15. That should do the trick as far as getting the game on goes. Do I stay or do I go now......
  16. Anybody else notice that Brown McMaster's tactic seems to be to talk talk talk talk talk without ever shutting the f*ck up, and basically just grinding people into submission? Who are the Asian couple proudly pictured with McMaster in front of the rubble?
  17. Some show, especially the 3-D movies and the giant inflatable kangaroo! They're getting more like the real thing each time I see them.
  18. I'm now coming around to that way of thinking.
  19. Where are the 2,000 seats that will be removed, according the article? Do they mean the excellent main stand, or is the JH stand to be mutilated as well?
  20. I usually enjoy days out to Kirkcaldy, but having seen the forecast, it's going to be a last-minute decision about whether or not to head there tomorrow.
  21. This post and WJ's are a great example of how you can show what you want with statistics! Both of you should work for political parties!
  22. Some excellent points there. But I'd take issue with any suggestion that a 16-team league would somehow have more meaningless games than a 10- or 12-team league where teams play each other 4 times each season. It's only the h*ns or tims who are likely to win the league whatever the format, so at least 16 or even 18 teams would give some novelty over 4 Motherwell-Killie matches (for example) which are as meaningless as you can get.
  23. Some of the stuff on here is just as bad as the OF.
