After losing Turner, Holt, Docherty and Tiffany, our core vest players by a country mile i thought mid table was the best we could wish for. We had no money got told how we were literally going out of business if it wasn't for the Rangers game. I was amazed we could sign anyone pre season so anything was a bonus. Let's just take some humble pie here we are scoring goals for fun and keeping ourselves in a play off position. We are shipping goals and we can't get Oreily onto the pitch as he is injured. Reading the posts about sacking the board and the manager is delusional. Neither of them are responsible for the fact that Neilson in all the goals I watched back is just not a defender but more a footballer. The Livingston game was horrific defending. I'd happily give Williams a shot but I'm worried we would still ship 3. It is what it is at the moment we are still in 3rd and we are still ahead. We were never going to challenge fir the league and the fact we created a big buffer in 3rd was a credit to the attacking play and goals as all teams are going to go through poor spells. Wait till the end of the season before any changes ridiculous to suggest them now when in.my opinion we are in a miracle 3rd considering our goals against.

Neilson is an excellent footballer pinging the ball at times, pace out of defence with the ball etc BUT I emphasise footballer as he is the worst defender I have ever seen. His positional sense and defending crosses and corners is beyond belief at times he doesn't even jump. I feel so sorry for Muirhead cause defensively Neilson makes him look awful. McInroy in my opinion is an excellent player and collectively with the midfield forwards and full backs we always score plenty of goals. I remember we signed that ancient defender from St Johnstone number of years back, cant remember his name, he was great no nonsense defender did his job nothing else and I'd take him over Neilson any day. It however would be a masterstroke to see Neilson in midfield due to his pace and passing accuracy. I'm applying for manager.

Really enjoyable game. Reminded me a lot of the playoff game except qp didn't have a finisher. Young boys who are rapid when they manage to play triangles and it comes off. What Thomas is doing playing at this level for qp i have no idea. He is so good and you could see the right back in the 1st half was out his depth so we were lucky Thomas wasn't in the game. 2nd half was so different as Thomas got the ball. We were scared to commit or press and they play such a high line where the centre halves take 3 men out the game by taking the ball into our half as we look to press wide and they leave 1 or 2 at the back. We couldnt match it at times. They will take points of loads of teams but will lose a few goals. I feel sorry for Graham shutting down himself at times thankless task. Mcmillan Lawless must be telepathic twins at birth they are so good. We did well for 20 mins and then backed off we were so far back from Graham. Lucky we got that goal but we gave them a shocker for their 1st. Bamnigan was excellent for me doing a job in front of the back 4 covering in and keeping it moving. Lots of positives. Still crapping ourselves at times at the back.

Horrific. If you want more people to buy strips as a source of some income then not sure this will sell nearly as many as usual. This is a bovril moment no in between

Interesting to read the views on here. Regardless of Doolan lucky or not we are on fire just now and that for me is ironically because of Bannigan getting injured. He was excellent against Queens before he went off and I thought we were defensively off it after he went off. Turner struggled a wee bit which was fair enough until he found his feet over the next game. Bottom line is Tiffoney free role causing havoc because sometimes other teams just double up when he is out wide. If he isn't in the game we were really struggling week in week out. I didn't feel he was in the game till 2nd half against Queens. Fitzy gets a decent run out and just like Hamilton game causes havoc. His usual 10.mins he does nothing as a sub. So for me it's simple new Tiff free role Fitzy getting games under his belt and having the safety of Holt behind him. Lawless being amazing as always but against Queens until Bannigan went off he didn't get a sniff until their left back moved over to try halt Fitz. Turner who I love has been excellent filling in and its just the way the cards have been dealt and we have found an amazing team going forward. MCcall would never have done that with Tiff and I think if Bannigan was playing with Turner in the hole we would not be where we are. Bannigan defensively and in general though is a great player.

Was just reading some of the comments and I was looking back at some stats. Started ok finding our feet but then we shipped 16 league goals (20 if you include Aberdeen cup) in 5 games Holt was injured for all and Docherty for 4 (I think). Akinola played i think 4 of them. We never get results on astro considering the possession we have at times and like the ball on the deck. 9 out a possible 18 points is poor considering the teams. Bottom line if you dont lose goals then at least you have a chance. We shored it up once Holt was back. I read comments about scoring more but you can't argue with 13 goals and 8 assists from Graham. Tiff has been injured for about 4 months Still chipped in with 7. We are 2nd top goal scoring team in the league by a few from top. We just don't spread the goals enough but you can't expect us to score more when we ship goals. If you score 2 against Hamilton and Raith (like the run in) with 65% possession then to ask for 3 or 4 and moan about it is unfair at this level. Individually a lot of players are pretty good but every team has had injuries and suffered however you need to manage those games defensively which I think was naive of us earlier in the season. Someone moaned about 30 passes going nowhere but ill take keeping possession any day and scoring 2 goals a game. You drag teams about doing that which is how you make the space and I think we have a good footballing team. Unfortunately guys like Dowds and Smith are the back up. DOWDS is sooooo bad and never alleviated any pressure by holding it in when Graham has had to go. Sometimes I feel sorry for the defence it just comes straight back. One last point personally hate Turners floaty free kicks and corners. Great player but wtf. Other teams cause havoc with a whipped ball in to us. i remember 2 nil.up Cove st home when Reynolds scored aghhh. Hamilton the other week aghhh. Next year will definitely be mid table 50-75% are away.and nae money. Dools will be manager too its not like we can pay a new manager and 15 assistants again.. It is what it is. We take a risk in budget last 2 seasons and now we need to take humble pie.

I dont really do blogs so first time so go easy. Tbh we have been terrible but how we can be relegated with 1 game in hand is beyond me. Looking through all promotion and relegation candidates as they stand if everyone caught up on any games against the auto promoted and relegated teams only Thistle are the only team that have the ability to catch up so we have been shafted. Thistle should be allowed to simply play either their next league match or if that would be a dead rubber a playoff with QOS. QOS should simply get a small loan till then less than money owed to tide over and then the rest on the outcome. Then we cant complain.

It's all about opinions but I don't get the amount of people that think Miller is kak. To be fair to him he worked his socks off for that 30 mins constantly making a strikers run literally pointing to Williamson and Zanatta to put it in x place when they got wide. Not once did it happen and that isn't his fault. He's done his run and job, they dither and for a striker it is so frustrating because first time or not all. Bonzo was good, Zanatta is the only one that can ghost past people. Robson is so out his depth. No idea why fox hasn't come for corner for 1st goal and Oware was a joke for 2nd as Shankland ran 50 yards without a challenge. I enjoyed the 30 mins played great and had chances. They were always going to come out at some point and the capitulation 2nd half was 3 at the back Penrice's game just gone by moving inside . Jones just nowhere that centre half was a beast. Hats off to shankland a joy to watch.
