Richard Nixon
They were discussing on Off The Ball, before I fell asleep, the two biggest teams that have never played each other, or the longest length of time since their last match. So is there any established football club Thistle have never played? I can't imagine so, but what's the team we've gone longest since playing a game against? I'm thinking East Stirling or Elgin City? Charlie Endell
I don't think we've ever played Elgin in a competitive fixture although we played them in a pre-season friendly at Borough Briggs in 2004 (I made the the trip up north). We last played East Stirlingshire at Firs Park around 1982.
ClydebankJag
We played East Stirling at home in the cup around a decade ago
Barney Rubble
We played East Stirling at home in the cup around a decade ago True - 1999. Lambie signed Martin Hardie from them thereafter.

Richard Nixon
We've yet to play Sevco. Yes, but I did stay established ... new teams don't count. And with luck we'll never have to play them.

The Jukebox Rebel
Oh FFS, I don’t need this shit this morning. This ******* train wreck is giving me a headache. What do you mean, “is there any established football club Thistle have never played? I can’t imagine so” Of course there is ya doughball. No’ got much of an imagination have you? If you think I’m gonnae sit here and rattle off 10,000 fitba’ teams you’ll have a longer wait than your next nomination for election. We’ll take a wild guess and presume that you’re talking about the national level senior clubs within the SPFL shall we? I have discounted Sevco Rovers from all thoughts on the grounds that they are run by aresholes, supported by morons and do not fall into your stated category of established club. Charlie’s got the right string but the wrong yo-yo. But listen, anybody that makes a 400 mile round trip to watch Partick Thistle reserves get beat one nil in Elgin deserves respect and sympathy, not a rollicking. And for our next dilemma, are we to include all PTFC first team matches or are we just talking box office? If we include friendlies then your answer is “No”. If we don’t include friendlies then your answer is “Yes, Elgin City”. “What's the team we've gone longest since playing a game against?” Jesús feckin Tejero. More ambiguous dilemmas. If we include friendlies then your answer is 58 years, 9 months, 3 days 05.05.1956 Elgin City [a] W4-1 (Friendly) If we only include competitive games then your answer is 22 years, 9 months, 21 days 18.04.1992 Montrose [a] W1-0 (SFL First Division - game 42) Shambles. Sort it out Nixon.
