Dr.D
Could this not have originated from the writings of David Belcher. I seem to recollect it being around some 15 years ago.

yoda-jag
...who wrote and recorded the song? No success googling it. Â Â My CD copy of "The Music Collection" of PTFC (by The Jags Trust) doesn't give any songwriting credits as such, but on back cover it says it's by "Rob Smith 1991" (as is 'Thistle Are Rising Again'). Â I'm assuming that's 'performed by' as first two are "Thistle Squad 1971", next two "Tim Stevens 1983" and final 5 "Neil Sturgeon 1995". Whether Rob wrote it or not, can't say for sure......which then got my old memory cells wondering, didn't I have a 7" copy of Follow Thistle/Thistle Are Rising Again - or was it a cassette (anyone remember)? Either way, annoying, can't locate a Jags single or cassette in my music collection here on Dagobah. B C
The name 'Bonanza' is coming into my head for being the band that did it. Might be wrong though.
i@n
Wasn't it someone from the band Middle of the Road?

B.C.G. JAG
If we could track down whoever has the rights and do a reissue it would be a great wee fundraiser.
Lionel J. Botch
Does anyone have a copy of the CD? My daughter is doing my head in wanting a copy of it. She and the boy sing it all the bloody time in the car, well whatever version they come up with at the time.
