Its a diddy cup, against a mickey mouse club.

But I recently moved to Hamilton so have alot of pals that support them.

So personally I hope we pump this mob.

Realistically though, they have 2 wins behind them in competitive fixtures, scored a few goals. We dont.

And we dont seme to have a back line with Archie, Kinniburgh, and possibly Paton out.

Still think we will gub them though.

Not too concerned about injuries as I'd rather see players rested tonight especially as we'll be playing them a week on Saturday.

Forgot all about Doolan getting a knock against Dundee. A back four of Campbell, Robertson, Lindsay and Sinclair would be interesting  .

Balatoni will be preferred to Lindsay.

Id much rather see Lindsay getting a run than that clown Balatoni. He has been taking detailed lessons from bombscare willie at the back.

Hope Ian Flannigan is nowhere the team this evening, and that Bannigan is AT LEAST in the 16.

Maybe Tommy Stewart will break into a trot as well, you just never know.

I expect the team to be

Fox

Paton (Campbell if he is not fit)

Balatoni

Robertson

Sinclair

Flannigan

Rowson

Cairney

Erskine

Stewart

Doolan (Grehan if he is not fit)

Subs

Scully

Lindsay

Campbell (or Burns)

Bannigan

Grehan (or Doolan)

Why?

In the match preview, Jackie indicated that Balatoni will play. Lindsay has not featured in a competitive game.

We need to put out our strongest team possible. The bit of extra cash from a cup run would help and improve the team's confidence.

Since we're stuck with Balatoni until Xmas, this situation has maybe come at a good time. This cup means nothing and we need to give Balatoni a run out to see if he can work his way back to some form. Let's us also see our near-worst-case-scenario defence in action in a situation where we won't lose any points.

If he has a good game then we have more options at the back. If he has another stinker then it's better to find out in this game. Then we can make him play for the young team until he sorts himself out.

Personally I think his problem is he'd thought he'd be kept at Hearts and is trying to prove himself, trying too hard. It means he's rushing out for things he can't make, missing the tackle/header and leaving the rest of the defence in trouble. He needs to be told he's stuck with us for months and if he wants to get a better team, he'll have to play steady and sure, because that's what you look for in a defender, not panic.

think its more likely to be

Fox (or possibly Scully)

Robertson Balatoni Lindsay Sinclair

Campbell Rowson Cairney Flannigan

Stewart Erskine

certainly similar to 1JL's team...

Haven't seen anything to suggest Robertson's a right back except maybe in dire emergency. Also you don't want three youngsters in a row at the back: Robertson needs to be in the middle to lead the back line.
