  1. Even for you that is a ridiculous post. Or do you just forget about the fact that Argentina invaded the Falkland Islands? Or maybe you think that it should belong to Argentina against the wishes of the population of the islands? Funny how you are all for Scotland having the right to decide its own fate but are quite willing to deny the Falkland Islanders their rights. I used to love the debates on the old forums, pity we cant have them here because of the narrow mindedness of certain posters who cant even bring themselves to write someones name due to their own distorted viewpoint. I would have thought that most people would have grown out of that habit by the time they left primary school. Guess that shows the level that certain posters are at. No real debate to be had with someone who refuses to even acknowledge that their belief may not always be correct and that other people might have different views. Funny how those people always claim to be on the side of free speech while totally ignoring the other sides point of view. Those who claim Thatcher as the root of all evil look and sound as ridiculous, bigoted and moronic as those who claim that she was a saint and was never wrong. I'll leave you and BJ to your posts now as i've learned never to argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
  2. British Soldiers during the Falklands War. And no I'm not defending Pinochet or denying the killing of his countrymen. Just making a point that I would rather deal with a dictator in order to save British lives rather than just for an oil deal.
  3. So it is just a vendetta. It's only Thatcher that we can condemn for having friends who are less than honourable? Or maybe you think that Gadaffi, Hussain and Stalin were just misunderstood? As I've already said BJ you seem as blinkered and narrow minded as those you choose to condemn.
  4. So what is worse then? Dealing with a murdering dictator to save lives or dealing with a murdering dictator to get cheap oil?
  5. Maybe just like Blair with Gadaffi, Churchill with Stalin or Galloway with Hussain? Not in the mass murderer category but wasn't Alex Samond a great friend of Fred Goodwin a few years ago? I can assume that you would also include any politician who has dealings with Russia, China, Saudi Arabia etc? Or is it just another anti Thatcher/ Tory rant that shows you to be just as bigoted and narrow minded as the people you hate?
  6. Both. The idea of a professional football club scraping around for pennies like this is in my opinion an embarrassment. If it was Clyde, Airdrie, Dundee etc who were doing it then I would say the same. I didn't realise that part of being a Thistle fan was to agree with everything that is done on behalf of the club, how dare I have my own opinions. The scheme is so successful that out of over 1500 forum members and an average crowd of roughly 2000 you have managed to sign up approx 30 people who think its worth their time to use easyfundraising. Looking at these numbers I'm sure I'm not the only one with this opinion
  7. Where have I tried to discourage anybody from using easyfundraising? All I have stated is my opinion which is that this idea isn't working and is IMVHO a total embarrassment. If we read posts like "The most recent weekly amount raised through easysearch was £0.91" on another clubs forum then we would be slating them. Have we really sunk this far as a club? If so then God help us.
  8. If it was me I would pick the quid up and put it in my pocket. Why is my attitude disapointing? Because I decide to use another cashback site( which gives at least twice the cashback of easyfundraising) and keep the money earned in my own pocket? Looks like we have earned about £130 from 7 months work (including a whole 91p one week). If we keep earning at this rate we will be able to sign a player by 2050 or maybe we can buy a lightbulb for the floodlights every year.
  9. Have to agree with you here. Easyfundraising in my opinion is something that youth groups and charities do, not a supposed professional football club. How did the rag collection go anyway?
  10. Don't remember Labour cracking down on these people either in their years in power?
  11. Most recent 3 month profit was £2 billion compared to a £1.6 billion loss in the same period last year. Don't know much about business but that looks like an improvement to me. What is convieniently missing from your argument is that it was the previous Labour government who negotiated this mans salary and bonuses.
  12. She deserves the 4 bedroom house, its her human right. Besides she will need the extra bedrooms for when she has more kids.
  13. I found it funny when she said that she wasn't prepared to lose her standard of living.
  14. Just wait until his contract is due for renewal, then you'll see some goals.
  15. Really hope you are at the wind up. Wouldn't want to have to phone the men in white coats to take you away.
  16. Why? Just because I have suggested that it's not only the unemployed who could be finding it difficult to find enough money to go to football?
  17. Why not just let them in for nothing? We could extend it to those who are working and don't earn much, maybe include all public sector workers as well. How about students as well?
  18. It allows us to give ex players and friends of the management team jobs as coaches. We are just helping the unemployment figures.
  19. Did you actually read Grant's post? He claims he would walk away from the team that he claims to support just because he dislikes the manager. Even if the team was highly successful under that manager he would refuse to go. Does that sound like fan of the year? Or is it more likely that he was just talking crap as always?
  20. If the board are reading this I'll happily contribute to Gus McPherson's wages. Sad day when a 'fan' says he wouldn't watch his team simply because he didn't like the manager.
  21. Have to disagree here Willjag, I don't feel that Paton will ever be a defensive midfielder. In my opinion he doesn't read the game well enough or have the passing ability to unlock a defence. Far rather see him storming down the wing from the right back position.

    Just In

Nothing to do with the fact that we cant clear our box? Or take our chances at the other end? The referee didn't cost us the game, the players did that all by themselves. Be interesting to see the goal again, the ammount of hands flying about the box it might have been a Jags hand the ball hit.
  23. Make sure you get your MAC code from BT before telling them you are leaving.
  24. I'd love to live in the same world as you seem to occupy. Where everything is black or white, good or bad. Where everyone either has to agree with your point of view or they are clearly in the wrong and they deserve everything they get. Must be similar to being an old firm fan (especially the bit about not saying what you really think because you know its against the law, but you still think you are right) For someone who ridicules religion so strongly you cant seem to accept the same criticism about unions, that they are out of date and unwilling to change archane attitudes. Unions cant seem to accept that not everyone believes that they are always right. I understand that you feel that you are doing the right thing and I respect that. Pity the unions dont respect others point of view as well. Look at the last big strike in the UK, the miners strike, (it will all be blamed on Thatcher by the unions) where the unions stance of absolutely no pit closures cost the whole industry to suffer. Had the unions been willing to compromise even slighty and allowed some pits that would have cost more to keep open than they were ever going to be worth then maybe there would still be a mining industry in the UK. But by refusing to compromise it cost miners (their members) their jobs. How many union leaders lost their wages or jobs due to that strike? How many union leaders lost a days wage due to strikes last month? As for the usual sob story about these poor union members earning all these benefits and the non union members just taking them why doesn't your union try for legislation to change the law and allow different pay rises etc for union and non union members?
  25. Unlike those hard working public sector workers who went on strike for money. Dress it up any way you like but bottom line was money. Again we see the attitude that has caused Union membership to fall year after year. Maybe if the Unions started being relevent to workers then they would join but if they cant even persuade people to part with a fiver a month for all the great benefits it brings then maybe its time to call it a day.
