  6. And therein lies the blinkered view, there is something better out there for them to sell, they just can't see it. Appart from it making a better product for the TV companies to sell, god forbid it creates anything exciting like a closer run thing at the top of the league with someone other than the OF, or the truely unthinkable, one of them actually finishes 3rd.
  7. For some bizarre reason, the men making the decisions at the top of the TV companies assume 4 OF games is the more financially rewarding scenario, they fail to realise that by playing each other only once at home and once away each season will make other games far more attractive, granted at least one half of the OF would be involved in most of them but far more appealing that playing each other 4 times a season. An example of what I mean is , at the moment ,say Hibs beat Rangers at Ibrox, like they just did last week, Rangers have 3 other times against Hibs to cancel that out, and also have the hope Celtic slip against Hibs to cancel it out too, if Hibs beat Rangers at Ibrox and Rangers only had one chance to cancel that out and had to go to Easter Road to do it, it would make for a more attractive fixture. I realise that my reasoning is still very much Old Firm based scenarios and that league reconstruction is needed for alot more reasons, but from the point of view of TV companies, I think demanding 4 OF games a season is rather blinkered of them.
  8. Actually, just reading this thread again I have no idea what the feck it's all about, I take it you need to be in the in crowd to know why it's relevant to stolenscone's work?

  11. While there is nothing within free masonary to suggest those of Roman Catholic can't become members of the freemasons, and many do, the conflict lies in the belief, Roman Catholics believe in the trinity, the free masons believe in one supreme being, by joining the free masons a roman catholic is in essence leaving his belief in the trinity behind. From what i've read in the history books(suppose it depends what ones though) William of Orange was indeed commissioned by the pope, my perseption of it was that the vatican had become intolerant of the behaviour of King James, himself a roman catholic, the vatican paid for William to assist those opposing James , the most famous participation being the battle of the boyne. Edit-1 , there's also enough evidence to support suggestions William liked his male friends Edit-2 One of the degrees of free masonary is Grand Pontiff(great pope)
  12. Most elaborate spelling of 'weans' ever? Grady a Jags fan , don't make me laugh.............
  13. When these guys stepped up to the Trust Board after the last bout of resignations my immediate thoughts were that they were a bunch do gooders with little clue to what they were doing ,and wouldn't do anything to pick up the pieces. I didn't even know who these guys were and had absolutely no right to make those blind judgements, and i'm honest enough to say it didn't take them long to prove my thoughts wrong by their hard work for the Trust. I still had my reservations about what they could actually achieve but I didn't have a doubt they were up to the task of trying. Double Ugly is correct, there may have been other factors that seen Cowan and Hughes leave the club but there is no doubt in my mind that a Trust driven by these guys done plenty to help push them out. A huge and fundemental change in the future path of PTFC I think you'll all agree? , and now, just like not so long ago the balls of the Trust have been forced to sever themselves from the c*ck. People keep asking me why I never join the Trust, I try and explain, but now, do I really need to do anything else other than give a sarcastic snigger and ask, 'have you been paying attention for the last 20 odd years?' . Once again I had got to a point where I thought the Trust might actually be worth being a part of, once again it's not worth a f**k. Shame you had to give up guys , I thought you were getting places. P.S, Can I join the new gang (you all know it makes sense ) when it's up and running?
  14. Whatever happens it's got to be something that actually punishes Dundee ,i'm one of these football fans that feels sorry for teams in trouble and hope something happens to help them survive, even foes like Clyde but with the way Dundee have conducted their business recently and in the wake of what happened to Gretna ,something has to be done to stop this shoite happening, it's a feckin' joke. Sugar daddys should only be allowed to help stabalise and strengthen clubs within that clubs own means, so that when the 'investor' gets bored/becomes skint/dies , the clubs finances are able to cope with it. This includes top flight teams too, Man City being the first one to spring to mind, there's absolutely no way whatsoever Man City could cope if their sugar daddy upped sticks and left. SFL need to hit Dundee hard for their sins, 30 point deduction should be minimum punishment.
  15. I did have my reservations about the signing, I still do, but i've never questioned what he could bring to our team and he's certainly showing something that we have lacked up until his arrival. I heard a couple of weeks ago ,from a jags fan, that his saintees mate reckons he'll be coming here on a more permanent basis in January, shrugged it off as usual rumour stuff but now hoping there's truth in it.
  16. The worrying thing about that is ,it's the kind of stupid thing i'd get caught out by
  17. In theory it makes for an end of season that is full of tension/hope/despair/elation , it quite often does for the first division, most leagues in the world would love competition to be so close over the course of the season and being able to swing any possible way in the run in to the end. It's just a pity it's shoite to watch at the moment. As for why it happens? I blame the wage structure, the clubs may vary in circumstance but it's always the same players or type of players that occupy this league, you could take a starting 11, shuffle them up like cards and deal them out randomly in piles of goalie-defenders-midfield-striker and not alot would change throughout (and at the end of) the season.
  18. So you're not going with them then?
  19. I'm not convinced part timers are the way forward, I know a couple of guys at least that play for Dumbarton that work , they live their lives like any random punter that watches fitba and perhaps plays pub league on a sunday, it's a common occurance that they are out at a well known dive of a nightclub in Balloch on a friday night and play for the sons the next day, and also, yesterday were running out of work at around 1pm to get to the team coach on time. ..........edit- they got pumped 4-0 I'm sure there are plenty part timers who don't live a party lifestyle but nothing is a given. On that note, can we even be sure all our young 'full time' lads(and older ones) are not out on the razz on a friday night? From stories I hear(which I admitt are only hearsay coming from me) that's doubtful.
  20. Gets my vote ,mates live in Castletown and could make a weekend of it
