  1. You know what? I don't give a rats arse about the rest of Scottish football anymore. I used to believe in all this "good of the game" guff but I'm just sick to the back teeth of it. Dundee/Gretna/Livi/Motherwell/League reconstruction every time Aberdeen finish bottom/Bigotry/Paranoia/Dundee/Dundee/Dundee/Dundee you name it I just can't bring myself to give a shit about any club but Thistle. So frankly, I just want to see whats best for the Jags. I don't give a toss about the rest of them anymore. So, what do we think would be the best reconstruction for us? That gets my vote regardless of what it is.
  2. Dunno about Kevin Bridges but a couple of years I was given Michael MacIntyres "live and laughing" dvd. I've since gone off him a bit but that show is really funny and, like you say, relatively clean. I also really like Eddie Izzard's "Dressed to Kill" which I don't remember being overly rude. Haven't seen any of his own shows but I've always enjoyed what Stewart Francis does on things like Mock the Week. I don't think he ever gets particularly rude either.
  3. Am I right in thinking theres no way to join the CF online?
  4. A lot of the time I think Holloway comes out with a lot of shite (his rant on the Rooney saga comes to mind) but I can't help but respect him for actually saying what he thinks and the way that Blackpool play football.
  5. I really like these two http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiNkll4JSwo&feature=related I tend to listen to xmas albums rather than individual tracks. Phil Spector / Motown / Beach Boys / Trojan / Low will all get some heavy rotation at this time of year
  6. If Dundee don't end up getting relegated this season I could see myself chucking Scottish football. If teams can cheat so blatantly and get away with it then whats the point in continuing? The game up here gets more depressing by the week
  7. The Herald this morning---admitedly, using the word allegedly---says he said "Stop cheating us". If thats the case I can see why it was a red. Frankly, players have been getting away with murder for years. I personally think the captain should be the only one who speaks to the ref---anyone else doing so (unless spoken to first) should get a yellow. That would see the end of the ridiculous crowding round the ref you see most weeks.
  8. I honestly don't believe that Rangers and Celtic are the big drivers behind the closed shop stuff. I've long believed that its the Hearts/Hibs/Aberdeens/Dundee Utds of the world that are terrified of change. The OF may get 4 games a season against each other---but Aberdeen get to play *8* games against one or other of the OF. For me, the big thing that *has* to change is the number of teams relegated/promoted. If it were me I'd be really tempted to keep the leagues exactly as they are, but with the bottom 3 getting automatically relegated from the SPL, bottom 2 automatically relegated from the SFL1 and SFL2, and some kind of system to allow relegation at the bottom of SFL3 so that junior teams etc could have a fair crack at the seniors. I think that would make Scottish football much more interesting.
  9. If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, and walks like a duck... People can argue about it all they like. The sad fact of the matter is that British politicians (of all flavours) seems to think that fighting unwinnable "wars" in the Middle East is more important than educating the people of Britain. How depressing is that? Personally I'd rather put someone through a philosophy degree than drop a "smart" bomb on some civilians in Afghanistan. Your milage may vary.
  10. Labour Party policies being shit doesn't make Tory ones right. Politicians of all creeds endlessly recycle the age old argument of the old firm fan "aye, but we're not as bad as them though, are we?" when the reality is that they're all cheeks of the same arse. The thing that really f**ks me off about the whole thing is that we could easily afford to fund higher education if we just stopped fighting unwinnable "wars" in the middle east.
  11. Plenty choice for both carnivores and vegetarians
  12. Ended up in The Pelican Cafe on Argyle St, just opposite Kelvingrove. We both enjoyed it. Good grub and reasonable prices!
  13. Hi guys Want to take Aunty Psychosis out for her birthday next week and I'd appreciate some restaurant recommendations, in either Glasgow or Edinburgh (being modern trendy luvvies we'll be in both next week). Only stipulations: not Indian (I'm a massive curry fan, she isn't) and must have a decent selection of Veggie dishes (she's vegetarian, I'm not).
  14. I agree. Dougie McDonald should be sacked. Neil Lennon and John Reid are so easy to dislike, but that shouldn't detract from that fact. Noone comes out of this looking particularly clever if you ask me.
  15. So how many games do you need to go to before you're allowed an opinion? 1? 2? 5? 10? 32?
  16. My wife is a driving instructor...feel free to PM me for her contact details. That sounds dodgier than I meant it to!!
  17. How on earth did I not get those two????
  18. I'm getting stuck now. Weirdly enough, I think its some of the "easier" ones I can't get: The Chelsea player (I know who it is, his name just escapes me Doh! Got this one now) The Birmingham player The WBA player (again, tip of my tongue...) Anyone care to give me a clue?
  19. http://bit.ly/aksQCH Some cracking photos there too.
  20. Their supporters trust is even more embarassing than ours!
  21. Scottish football is struggling because it can't cope with the competition anymore. Cinema, Spanish/Italian/English football on the TV, other sports on TV, live music, home cinema, going out for a meal, etc etc. There are millions of alternative ways to spend your saturdays and pretty much all of them are better value for money than watching Thistle against Cowdenbeath. Imagine you were a neutral and just wanted to watch a game of footballl---why would you pay £17 to watch the Jags against Cowden when you can sit in the pub and watch much better games for free?
  22. I don't entirely disagree with you, but I think 25 pts is a pretty fair punishment. Personally, I'd make the punishment based on how much is paid back to creditors. Pay back 10p in the pound? Then their points total at the end of the season should be reduced by 90%. 25p? 75%, and so on.
