  1. I emailed Accies on Wednesday asking the very same question. Still waiting on a reply. If they can't be bothered to reply I may not bother going. Their loss.
  2. Thanks, Jaggernaut but the match isn't listed.
  3. This is a long shot (as long as a Jackie Husband throw-in) but to try and bottom out the line-up and used subs for this friendly with Stenhousemuir on 6/8/1973 does anyone have a programme for the next home match (either Dundee Wed 15/8/1973 or St Johnstone Sat 18/8/1973)? Hoping there might be a report and line-ups for the match. If so, please PM me. Thanks.
  4. If the new majority shareholders decide to reach out to the trustees (ie, ST holders, most of whom like me never knew they were trustees in the first place), would be illegal to obtain a list of ST holders' e-mail addresses from the club under the current Data Protection laws? If so, interested to know how they will" communicate".
  5. Correct. Everything else working fine. The message says it's a problem with the host. Admin: What's being done to investigate and rectify?
  6. Thanks MJ. Tried switching to Chrome but, as with Edge, still getting the error message intermittently. Noticed this problem started as the views on the share stuff rocketed. May just be coincidence of course.
  7. Anyone else being bombarded by error messages saying there is something wrong between the site and the host? I'm using Edge and can get all other sites no problem.

  9. Highlights now up on QP official Site.
  10. Don't think it's alphabetical FT. All other things being equal I think it's down to head to head(s). Reminds me of the old joke about Rangers and Celtic finishing joint top of the league at the end of a season. Same goals scored, same goal average. The two matches that season ended 1-1. The SFL hold crisis talks and agree they cannot be separated. They announce to the press that they have decided to go alphabetical and announce Rangers FC are the champions and The Celtic FC are runners-up. (Have a look at their club badge.)
  11. The prevailing view on here is that the recipients of the shares will be the PTFC Trust and that, it's fair to say, doesn't look like being a very popular decision if it comes to pass. Curious to know what the reaction might be if, say, a group of Jags-supporting business people had got together and put themselves forward and been chosen - perhaps with the intention of putting money into the club. Could Woodstock Jag offer a view as to whether Colin Weir's vision of a fan-owned club would be satisfied under these circumstances? Is there a definition of "fan ownership"? A purely hypothetical question. I have no inside knowledge as to who the chosen recipients are.
  12. Aw naw. No another UEFA cup tournament!
  13. The hot topic of the moment! OS now has info up about QP next Saturday at Stenhousemuir. All very helpful etc etc BUT no mention if there is a PATG on Saturday (and whether they accept cash). Do they not realise that there are people (eg Y&R's dad) who wake up on Sat morning and decide because they are free after all or because the weather forecast is good they'd like to go to a match? As the vagaries of the Scottish climate become obvious as autumn and winter approach, weather on the day of a match can often be the deciding factor. I shouldn't have to contact QP to get an answer to my question. PT staff are not entirely innocent either. Why can't they ask the question when the home team supply them with the details? Never ceases to amaze me the lengths Scottish football will go to to deter people attending.
  14. Shameless plug for extract from "You Couldn't Make It Up" in The Thistle Archive... In 595 matches there is no record of mild-mannered Davie McParland ever having been booked. He was sent of against Celtic at Firhill on 14/10/67 to spoil his previously unblemished record. Your researcher is still seething! The alleged offence of retaliation was the mildest of reactions when Celtic player Wallace lunged at him. As they trooped off embarrassment must surely have been overwhelming. They were Chair and Vice-Chair of the SPFA (players' union) at the time.
  15. Shameless plug from The Thistle Archive. Thistle legend Jackie Husband was always known for his long throw-ins. Proof - if proof were needed - can be found in the "Kinematograph Weekly" newspaper of 21/10/1948. In their review of the latest sporting educational film releases "Lesson Group E -The Throw-In" featured close-ups and long-shots of "J Husband Partick Thistle and Scotland" demonstrating the skill.
  16. Correct M'lady. Shameless plug for "You Couldn't Make It Up" extract from The Thistle Archive... Ah, the witty banter of the football supporter! The 2-1 defeat of Dundee at Firhill on 14/4/2007 was also memorable for the red card for Dundee's Alex Rae. Always a ready target. He claimed afterwards that he had made just 3 tackles and had been booked for two to them. This cut little slack with the Firhill faithful and the "Glasgow Herald" reporter was able to repeat one of the more printable taunts "Even yer maw an' yer da' hate ye!"
  17. lt should have been 4. He missed a penalty. Was this not the game the public address operator was ejected from his booth adjacent to the away support having had "words" with a Thistle fan?
  18. Still. they have had their fair share of Jokers!
  19. A German student where I used to work told me there are only 3 laws of football in Germany, The ball is round. A game lasts 90 minutes. Bayer Leverkusen must never win the league. She told me they were hated for selling out their birthright to chemical company. The same may now apply to RB Leipzig.
  20. Just to play Devil's Advocate, I just wonder if this is just rather too bold a statement. It could, of course, be true that every Thistle fan favours fan ownership but could it equally be true that it only refers to fans that use this site? I'm not aware of many, if any, contributions expressing as differing view but there may well be a sizeable number (perhaps a majority?) of fans who don't want fan ownership or don't have a view at all. Looking at the 3BC statement this caught my eye. 'By way of an update, since 9th April we have had one note of interest...' Could this just be ambiguous enough to mean a bid to buy the shares from a 'rich individual'? If I were a rich businessman looking to buy a football club (which I'm not!) I might take the view that PTFC was an easy target at the moment.
