  1. How susceptible is diet irn-bru to natural disasters?
  2. I'm going to give this a shot I reckon. I've got a big plastic box thing too collect them in, and will see how much ginger I can get through before the next time I'm at Firhill. No excuse for folk who do drink Barr drinks, this kind of thing is one of the positive things in Scottish Football right now, so we might as well win it. Realistically, if folk bother, we should be able to win this kind of thing quite easily. Only Dundee and Falkirk for competition as far as volume of support goes, even if most of ours doesn't bother with watching the team...
  3. It's not the fans that play the matches, so that saying is somewhat irrelevant. It's best to be realistic about these things. Just to clarify, I don't think we'll be involved in any form of relegation fight. We're going to be tediously and low-scoringly mid-table.
  4. Tomorrows preview: "Alan Archibald significantly raises the average age of the back four". What's the relevance of the 'average age'? What you mean, jackie, is that we have 3 young guys who are liable to make mistakes because of inexperience, and one old guy who is likely to cause his own problems because of a lack of pace and distribution. It's not like Alan Archibald means the whole back four plays like 23/24 year olds. The other three are just as inexperienced as last week at Livingston. Footballers and managers should stop getting interviews - they all just talk in nonsense cliches and jargon.
  5. Twice in a row I've not gone to a home game and spent the afternoon with the same mate of mine. De ja vu from telling him last time that it was guaranteed nil nil and being right, then the the same thing happening again. Thistle will have to do something, cos expecting people to pay means they won't come until what you pay for is vaguely resemblant of a football game.
  6. Yeah, but the point is that we paid the tax debt when money came in. Rangers didnt pay theirs at all and spent all their revenue on speculating to accumulate. Thats why theyre in this situation. It's not even comparable to thistle.
  7. BUT IF YOU'RE TOMMY STEWART, PAAAAASS and then, KRIS DOOLAN, YOU SHOOOOT!!!!!
  8. Fox Paton Sinclair Balatoni Archibald O'Donnel Erskine Rowson Cairney Elliot Doolan
  9. Pat Nevin is only beaten for idiocy by the people who sign up to his ridiculous 'intellectual niche' he seems to have created for himself in British football by simply carrying a clipboard and pen and wearing glasses. He once tried to leave a cinema I worked in by going into the toilet.
  10. Sectarian: Deniting or concerning a sect. How can it be sectarian when the point of the song is the dismissal of and disassociation with BOTH sects? What are we sectarian about, atheism?
  11. I couldn't believe that. The livi side were just a youth team. You can tell by the way they celebrate that it was a big deal for ten. Incidentally, the guy who chooses to run into banning an when celebrating should have been booked fr that. Horrible.
  12. Hasn't Scott Boyd scored more own goals for county than goals or something? I've seen him score 3 own goals live since he signed for them, and It's not like I make much of an effort to watch county, to be honest.
  13. Help us Lambie, Help help us Lambie, Help us Lambie, Help help us Lambie, help us Lambie, Help help us Lambie, help us Lambie, Help help us Lambie - help us Lambie now GET US OUT THIS FARCE. Well Lambie you look so fiiine, and i can give you lots if reasons whyyyytt you gotta HELP US LAMBIE HELP US GET OUT OF THIS FARCE.
  14. Getting bored of listening to every EPL home support singing to the tune of Sloop John B all the time. Clearly not even the best beach boys tune, so I've made us something to rival it: "goin down down down we're going down, goin down down down we're going down etc I'm gettin bugged turnin up to watch the same old pish, gotta find a new team where the players arent shit Goin down down down we're goin down, goin down down down we're goin down etc The players and coach are gettin real well known, the good scouts know them and they leave them alone, Goin down down down we're goin down..." I think this is about as much fun as I can have with thistle this season, and obviously there is the adde bonus that it applies for probably one in every three seasons.
  15. See all this nonsense about two game packages etc (which surely affect season ticket value for money), why are we so reactive instead of pro active? We wait til we're so shite that no-one would ever want to go even when a 'deal' is on. If we're willing to do this, we might as well just have some common sense and charge a REASONABLE PRICE for what's being offered. Just charge less all season and forget about stupid deals that reek of desperation.
  16. Didn't go. Knew it wouldn't be worth the money before I made my decision, and thistle are do predictable now that it's paid off for me. Gettin into the habit of not bothering anymore, to be honest. It's barely football you pay to see in the sfl1. When was the last time we scored a meaningful goal? It's pathetic really. We consistently have 700 more fans (ie roughly 50 percent) more than Livi, and so more revenue to put us on the right track. However, look at the state of us by the time that's translated into footballers to play the game on a Saturday.
  17. So, with our youth coach leaving and the players coming through not being given game time, we are effectively without a reputation for youth development again? The only constant variable is Gerry Britton.
  18. Well the post on the Club website is the first I've heard on it, and I don't see which lines I'm meant to be reading between. Am I not correct in thinking we just lost a really good youth coach without seemingly giving any reason at all? He was one of the only good things going on right now. Am I meant to put two and two together and come up with we let him go because we can't afford a youth system?
  19. No. If you buy a pack of wine gums, it's up to you if you give one to your pal. You pay for a seat for the season, you have a right to use the seat for a season. By giving your ticket to a pal, you are not taking more that you've paid for. The club isnt a charity. The club itself and Scottish football in general should have the onus to find ways of justifying fans parting with more money, and should definitely not expect fans to find excuses to part with money for a service with no marginal cost. Take Hamilton away for an example - the game was moved to Friday to try and see if there'd be a bigger crowd. When a good away crowd turned up, they weren't ready and 200/300 of our fans misse kick off despite arriving on time. At the end of the game, a steward shouted at us to 'KEEP MOVING!' on the way out. So, no rush to let people see what theyve paid for, but piss off quickly after. Scottish football doesn't deserve customers and I'm not findin excuses to give it money.
  20. It's not the premier league that's rubbish, its negative Alex McCleish football that's rubbish. How can the EPL be a bad league comparable with the spl when not top 6? Anyone who is any good in the SPL goes to those clubs, so they logically have to be better. The fact is, very good footballers can play as bad as anyone else when they: (a) cant be bothered, or; ( have a shite manager. Any of these teams in the bottom 14 of the EPL would absolutely destroy SPL teams because they have better technical ability. It's just harder to express it when they're matche up with similar quality teams who have McCleish tactics attempting to carve out a stalemate. Edit: turns out you can't put a B in a bracket without making a smiley these days... It has been the same on every forum, just untick the 'Enable emoticons?' box in the post options in the full editor.
  21. Probably because we loan in other teams mediocre, soon to be released youth players rather than playing our own. Don't blame him. Also, replacing him with Alan Archibald screams 'jobs for the boys' - since when did he have any knowledge of technique with a football?
  22. He said on twitter (sorry) that he's been training at Firhill this week. I'd imagine they wouldn't let him do that and get his hopes up if there's no contract forthcoming.
