  1. Team A wins 1, draws 2 (loses shoots out) and loses 1. 5 points under normal and League Cup points scoring systems. Team B wins 0, draws 3 (winning all shoots out) and loses 1. 3 points under normal but 6 points under League Cup scoring system. Somewhat anomalous as well as anonymous.
  2. The scheme is getting tied in knots. More like Tagliatelli.
  3. Steve Fulton would be too heavy. More likely Miles Hippo-lite
  4. Definitely 90. There is a website I use a lot at work and every so often it asks me to update my password. I always go for Doolan followed by the number of goals he has scored. At the end of last season it was Doolan89, so it must now be 90.
  5. However, shortly after the break, Thistle had something to say about that. Hugo Faria, who had come on for Marc Fitzpatrick a few moments earlier, was caught in possession by Doolan, who burgled him of the ball just 25 yards out. He took a couple of steps forward and delivered a low shot that beat Crawford low at his right-hand post. That was Chick Young's report on our goal, presenting it as a solo effort by Doolan who won the ball, stepped beyond the defence and shot past the goalkeeper, completely ignoring the tackle by Erskine and the through ball by McDaid which Doolan finished masterfully. I can accept that a reporter with one look at a goal can make a wrong call when players converge on the ball and it is difficult to make out who got the last touch, but in this case all three players and the parts they played were clearly visible and memorable even to someone as unobservant as me. Maybe a new career beckons. Could I apply for Chick's job, or am I not lazy and inept enough?
  6. I had the same issue with the dates (ie membership starting in July 2016 after activation but ending in June 2016). I phoned the club 10 days ago and was told that i was not the only one who had the same problem and that this was being worked on (obviously unsuccessfully). I can of course view all the interviews and highlights posted on the club website, as can everybody else, but I cannot view these through the TAG portal as before.
  7. PS Just looked at the picture of David Crawford on the official site news section, and unfortunately do not see any resemblance to Kegan Bradley. I am sticking with Soren/Kallum. Having said that, David did chip in with a few good saves.
  8. The most striking resemblance at the Open is that between Soren Kjeldsen and Kallum Higginbotham! They even walk in an identical way and demonstrate the same mix of brilliance and rashness. Soren/Kallum was in the same pairing as Kegan/David yesterday. Accordingly I do have Kegan's appearance imprinted in my memory. I have not yet seen a good picture of David the new goalie, but when I do, I will reply to the OP.
  9. If Ziggy is used to dealing with spiders from Mars, then Spiders from Queens Park should be no problem.
  10. What is Ziggy short for? Sigmund? I see from the BBC website that his mother is Polish, so that Zbigniew as in Boniek might be a possibility.
  11. Mention of Paul and Matthias Pogba makes me wonder if there has ever been such a disparity between 2 brothers who are both professional footballers or indeed competitors in any field of sporting endeavour. We have a world class star playing for Juventus and representing France in the top echelons of European club and international football, and in contrast a total journeyman struggling to hold down a starting place, or even to get off the bench, in a team in the lower section of a somewhat inferior league. I have been pondering other pairs of brothers and while there may be some difference in attainment, in general they have been at a comparable level. For example Darren & Derek Young were both reasonable journeymen plying their respective trades in the upper/middle reaches of Scottish football while Tommy & Willie Callaghan were both rather less talented journeyman playing at a lower level. I will give below various other pairs of sporting brothers, putting the more famous one first, In some cases indeed which of the brothers was more talented or successful would be open to debate, but in all cases I would submit that both brothers belonged together on the same pitch and there is not a yawning gulf between them. Can anyone tell me of any other journeyman professional with a famous brother? Was there a Cecil Shearer who played for Stenhousemuir or a Wolfgang Beckenbauer at Arbroath or Harry Gullit turning out for Hartlepool? Frank & Ronald de Boer Barry & Derek Ferguson Alan & John Hansen Gary & Phil Neville Alastair & Jonny Brownlee Finlay & Jim Calder Gavin & Scott Hastings Andy & Jamie Murray
  12. The Romans created a legion of chances.
  13. I'll take it that you were not at the 1971 League. Cup Final, then.
  14. Hal Robson Kanu's brilliant turn and strike almost as good as Peter Lindau's third in the promotion-clinching hat trick at Forthbank.
  15. I think the club and Banzo should issue a joint statement.
  16. Sadly not great as the need for approximately equal numbers of home and away fixtures would kick in and we would end up losing one of the home games.
  17. Bit of a dilemma for Thistle fans watching Hungary v Belgium tonight. Do we support our fellow Magyars or our fellow wearers of red, yellow and black. At work, I recently had to verify the identity of a Hungarian, and envied the massive "MAGYAR" stamped all over his passport!
  18. An interesting historical footnote has just occurred to me (I think I am changing into TJR). Northern Ireland's record in qualifying through their group, 0-1 loss, 2-0 win and 0-1 loss is almost identical to Scotland's record at Italia 90 in exactly the same context of 24 teams in 6 groups of 4, with the best 4 third place finishers to qualify. Scotland 0 Costa Rica 1 Scotland 2 Sweden 1 Scotland 0 Brazil 1 The only difference was Sweden nicking a late goal. Translating our record to the current Euros we would still have qualified as our -1 goal difference would have trumped Turkey's -2. Michael McGovern has enjoyed an amazing transformation to celebrity status after the ignominy of being the only goalkeeper in Scotland to lose a goal to Matthias Pogba (and he did it twice!). Our Matthias has outdone Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski. I think that there is still a possibility that Northern Ireland may play France in which case Mikey could achieve what must be a unique feat if he lost a goal to Paul Pogba (goals against you by 2 brothers in the same season in a league fixture and an international tournament-surely even TJR's crazy computer could not find another example).
  19. We will just have to pack the attack and try to win every game 5-4.
