  1. Siggy, great to have you back mate. Bring a book to the North Stand at the next home game and I'll give you a football top you do not have in your collection. It would be a pleasure to meet your real persona
  2. Leave this with me. Also thanks for feedback on piped crowd noise; that clear message will get relayed (ideally via tannoy!) to the Club in due course. Glad to see some concrete step seat row numbers had already been repainted yesterday; little steps towards a better matchday experience for all... Cheers, Sandy
  3. Enjoyed the weather, assured performance first half but a bit nervy second. Got to meet Donald Findlay and his sideys Usual thread for fan feedback on matchday experience, good or bad. Try to make it solution focused
  4. It's a strange one this. From what I know of the SA supporters trust, it's a pity. They are good guys, struggling a bit to make their mark and help run a Club whose on-field performance has slipped badly. The SA Operations Director does not help the situation much either; I think he might be out of his depth here.
  5. I'm afraid with the loss of many good people from the Trust Board over the last 3 years, there is arguably more talent outside looking in than inside gazing out. I'm with Mr Trained and Yoda on this issue. Sadly the Trust has been stifled by thebold timers and has lost both members and respect; it's a pity, given the honourable intentions of Messers Heron ET al. At the end of the day, chasing political battles is fruitless; the kind of one thistle volunteering effort that Jim & Lance are fostering, is the way forward.
  6. Gus, not sure if you jest about the DVDs mate but I'd have one off you....
  7. There is some brilliant analysis and well-made feedback on this thread. Thanks Blackpool Jags, Arnand2 and Fearcher amongst others for helping me understand (even better) a game I saw live. We will follow Thistle ...
  8. I enjoyed the Alba coverage last night. Before the game I was talking to some of their technical and presenting team, they all seemed sound and genuinely dedicated to delivering a quality transmission. And they were complimentary about the Thistle welcome. Agree with posters above. Billy Brown called it SO wrong, if cameras come to Firhill surely the Club needs to open Main Stand so we look as if we have more than 1 man and a dug supporting us. A good pal in Manchester watched a bit of the game online and thought we had no support at all! By all accounts, even with the SFL3 daughters of darkness games, Alba might struggle to justify a further SFL contract. That would be a real pity on all sorts of levels; I was looking forward to learning a chant about pink socks in gaelic. Btw PT and Ian Mac. I made a rash promise to buy your lot a round if we won yesterday. Offer can be redeemed within Star & Garter at next home game...
  9. My poor steak pie got abandoned when Erskine scored his second!
  10. As per usual, any feedback on matchday experience to include in the onethistle report? Catering, toilets, turnstiles, stewarding, etc Cheers, Sandy PS Cracking result with 2 excellent goals and one assist from Erskine
  11. Oh Jedi Master, forgive me, you must,
  12. Ian_Mac, the Kurt Cobain thread was a legend. But this one is shaping up nicely. I will be wearing spandex to the game today to protest about the decision of the WAF members to 'come round your house' the other night. I may also try to phone Annan Athletic today to get ignored.
  13. At the risk of diverting this thread onto another side-splitting journey, I feel Siggy may have a point. I phoned East Stirling to arrange to buy one of their vintage 1980's orange, black & white 'kippers' but they have not returned my call. I demand an immediate 10 point deduction and have emailed David Longmuir. Sepp Blatter stll shops at Lidl and has now followed me on twitter. I am sure the moon is made of cheese and will be writing to NASA to demand they come clean about the fake moon landing sequences. I do like Edith Piaf.
  14. Are you available for tannoy volunteering? If so, the residents of Milton would be able to hear the whole game live
  15. I'm looking forward to the programme tomorrow too; http://ptfc.co.uk/news/2012-2013/september_2012/sundays_programme_v_raith_rovers The latest from the Jags Trust....hmm. Is this blank page for fans to create their own copies of the team lists read over the tannoy? Just a thought
  16. Now that the small pishy game at Hampden is out of the way, can we get back to talking about how we can best support Thistle tomorrow? 1. Big turnout (that's mair than 2,000 ya negative bams) 2. Big singing from the Shed (aye, even you mad lassie) 3. Big performance on Alba (even if we cannae understand their commentary) = one big result by 17:55 And if we do it, I'll stand the Star & Garter boys a round after 6pm There. Now to it. Else you've got mental Blackpool Jags on yer case tonight...
  17. If all those harbingers of doom, who predict a crowd of 2000 or less tomorrow, put the same effort into ringing round some mates who have never been to Firhill, we could be well up towards the 3000 mark and a better atmosphere to spur on the team. Just saying, like
  18. Will suggest it. Although it was the presence of a mobile pie seller in the Home Stand (long story) at ICT that caused me to look down in greed and miss Shaggys goal in the midweek monsooned cup game in 2003.
  19. I remember him...Kenny Hear.
