  1. Wasn't planning on going to the Aberdeen game so i'll now be able to watch it on TV, which is a bonus for me but I can see why folk are pissed.
  2. We seem to be getting quite a few games on TV, my memory of the last time we were in the SPL was only really getting games against the OF on live. Would have preferred the hibs game on a Friday night though
  3. That's him, and you're not alone in thinking that. I thought he looked really decent and from memory he was one of the most fouled players in the Spain v Tahiti game which is unreal considering the balance of the two teams. He also completed more dribbles in the Uruguay game than quite a few of the attacking Uruguay players so it shows he has confidence in his ability and can actually compete against international class players. I'm not for one minute saying he'd be a success, but he's touring Europe looking for a club and we're looking for a winger/forward who can run with the ball, beat men, has a bit of pace etc. No harm in offering him a trial. He's probably not that far off where Erskine was when he signed him in that he'd not played many professional games and had played against poorer opposition. Look how that turned out.
  4. He didn't look out of place playing against players supposedly much better than him at the confederations cup. He completely roasted the life out of Effe Ambrose when they played Nigeria, a player deemed good enough to be a starter for the best team in this country. As far as i'm aware there were extenuating circumstances as to his failure to succeed in Belgium. The club were a shambles at the time and he decided to go back home instead of sticking around. He's also good enough to be on trial with a team in Ligue 1 in France, albeit he didn't get a deal. There's no harm in offering the boy a trial to see how he shapes up. Just because he plays for Tahiti doesn't make him pish.
  5. Said it before but I think we should take a punt on that Steevy Chong Hue who played for Tahiti at the Confederations Cup. I thought he looked pretty decent! Been on trial with FC Lorient in France but no longer on trial with them.
  6. Games will be split between Sky Sports and BT Sport. Our first game of the season will be live.
  7. All over twitter at the moment so seems legit. Reasonably happy with this as a small step forward. The first divison clubs have been squeezed for so long that "bigger" clubs such as Thistle, Raith Rovers, Morton etc have seen the financial gap between them and the likes of Killie, St Mirren, ICT etc widen and we're constantly told that there's not enough "quality" to justify a 16 or 18 team SPL. Hopefully a few years of increased revenue for teams like Thistle should allow us to redress the balance and in time push for a bigger top league that can do away with splits and multiple games against the same teams.
  8. Pretty sure that's going to be; McGregor Hutton (RB) Martin Hanley Whittaker (LB) Morrison McArthur Bannan Maloney Snodgrass Griffiths
  9. It'll be 3 goal pumping at the very best. Never dreaded a game as much as i'm dreading this one.
  10. I emailed mine away two weeks ago and hadn't had the money taken off my account as of yesterday. I gave them a phone and they said they couldn't open my attachment and couldn't reply to my email because of "technical issues". Lot of pish really. To suggest they couldn't send an email or phone me on one of the 3 numbers i had on a footer on my email to them was a total cop out. I'd give them a phone to make sure they've got your form.
  11. Signs a contract extension until 2015 according to Mr Jack on Twitter. Good news!
  12. Blocks, like slabs will sink if the sub-base is not thick enough or compacted properly. With the slabs though, you'll see them cracking. Most driveways are not designed to take the weight of anything other than a bog standard car. If buying a new build house you'll be advised that you cannot park a van on it for example. To avoid the potential for the driveway sinking, you'd want somewhere in the region of 250-300mm good quality stone (Type 1).
  13. Is it not a legal thing with them though? In that legally they can't have kids advertising alcohol?
  14. He said two under contract players so it can't be any of those three, although Elliot's new deal has just been announced. Would be excellent for the club to announce Harkins signing along with extended deals for Muirhead and Banzo!!
  15. Still got another year as far as i'm aware but has probably been offered an extension on better terms.
  16. I work with a guy who's friends with Forbes and he said that he was desperate to sign a new deal. He told me this about 6 weeks ago after the club intimated to him that they would be offering a deal. I was surprised to see that it had taken him so long to sign, but his comments are in line with what my workmate had said about him.
  17. Ein Prosit, ein Prosit Der Gemütlichkeit Ein Prosit, ein Prosit Der Gemütlichkeit. OANS ZWOA DREI! G'SUFFA!

  19. I'm not surprised at this at all. It was pretty clear that although UBIG had declared themselves insolvent the process had not actually begun by the end of last week. It should kick in sometime in the next 2 weeks though, you would expect.
  20. Hearts will not be deducted points from this season's total as the SPL are not convinced that the "insolvency event" has occured this season. This means they are likely to start next season with a points deduction as UBIG will go into admin sooner rather than later.
  21. On,y if the points were deducted from this seasons total. If the deduction were to apply in next season then it would be this season's total.
  22. That in indeed correct, there has been no formal vte by the SPL.That is scheduled for sometime this month, don't think there is a definitive date set as yet
